    The digital setting is way better than the analogue and this is the first pedal in a long time that I like a lot as it opens up a realm of musical possibilities beyond what a straight guitar / amp set up would without going all Kemper like :-). All we need now is an Elmo pedal that let's us play as well as you do !

    I just bought the DD-7 for 50 euros. I already have EHX Memory Boy but I wanted try this one for a change. So far I’m really liking it, I also like the analog setting in it which is why I picked DD-7 instead of DD-3.

    I believe the man himself uses one of these pedals along with a Roland Space Echo. 🤟🏻
    ** correction he use a Boss DD-3 Digital Delay and Roland RE-201 Space Echo.

    Great little pedal, got a shitload of Boss pedals (DD-7, RV-6, HM-2, BF-2, NS-2, CE-5 and a TR-2) I love them, sturdy little fuckers. Had my Boss HM-2 since about 1982 and still going strong, came with a brass plaque stating it was the 3 millionth Boss unit ever made, still got that on my key chain.
    Hey Elmo take a look at the Ogre analogue delay pedal. I have both, set one to 400ms and the other to 800ms, interesting effect especially with the RV-6 and a volume pedal for swells.

    Your tone sounds REALLY REALLY GOOD THRU THAT PEDAL.. Almost like it changed the EQ to make it sweater sounding than the just amp EQ does. Maybe just me.

      @@MrPolevaulter I would love to see you review some of the pedal size preamps like AMT from Russia which has several Preamp pedals to model many different amps. Hotone also has a 250 dollar pedal sized or double pedal sized solid state preamp and power amp pedal. Just hook to a cab or go direct. It also has an effects loop for delay, etc. They have a couple, one with less gain like an older Marshall and one supposedely like a Mesa Boogie..
      I'm wanting to set up a pedal board SOLUTION to go direct to front of house / PA and to use for recording. Have you ever thought about the orange crush series amps? Solid state, but great great amps. I think even you would like them they aound so tube like..

    Hey Elmo, How you doing?
    I have 2 Marshall JCM 800 2203. I am struggling to find a digital delay that works fine with its loop FX. I already have the Carbon Copy delay which works flawlessly (no signa loss when it is off and no distortion in the tone). Then I bought the DD-2 and I immediately noticed that when it is off, it sucks volume, gain and punch from my tone comparing to the bypass mode (The JCM has a bypass button in the fx loop). Then I tried a EHX Canyon, it didn't suck tone when it is off, but when it is on it adds a lot of weird noises and distortion to the tone (but that happened only in the loop, in the init it worked fine).
    My question is, have you ever tried a vintage DD2 or DD3? Do you think the DD7 suck any tone when it is off like I noticed in my gear? Can you recommend any digital delay that sounds like the DD-2/DD-3 and doesn't suck tone when it is off?

    • @MrPolevaulter
      @MrPolevaulter  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's funny. The Carbon Copy sucked tone when it was turned on for me. The DD-7 didn't. The TC Electronic Flashback Mini works fine, as does the Strymon Timeline. Haven't tried the vintage pedals you mentioned.

    Hi Elmo^^
    I actually want to buy a dd-8, BUUUUUT my problem with the dd-8 seems to be finding my way of setting and changing subdivisions WITH MY FOOT... So I need to know :
    => if i can use the external Footswitch, to tab in a subdivision (e.g. dotted 8th)?
    => can i do this while i play, without holding for 2 sec first?
    => can i, by this method, change subdivisions, while playing, by just
    physically tabbing in their different rythmical signatures (e.g. the
    "1-2-123" or alternatively the "1-2-3-4-1-234" for the dotted 8th...) at
    any time? Like, just how Antoine shows it here, @ @m: @
    SOOOOO.... you wouldnt , by any chance happen to know that??

  • @try_altf4422
    @try_altf4422 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Your playing is phenomenal. The only issue I have is glossing over the boss DD7s shortfalls, compared to readily available alternatives. It's like I did a review over the pedal; th-cam.com/video/9nleiVCLqIs/w-d-xo.html I did!.
    The dd7 also has an easter egg mode, which nobody seems to review and its plus sides are largely minimized, due to the tap tempo, internal tap and expression pedal not working well together.
    TBH the EHX canyon is simply superior to this pedal and I don't think we should be recommending it except for its signature sound.

    • @robertw8861
      @robertw8861 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Really depends on what your needs are, to call something superior because it happens to fit your own needs better is a bit arrogant wouldn't you say.

    • @try_altf4422
      @try_altf4422 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robertw8861 I wouldn't say that's arrogant. That's like saying, "omgod it's so arrogant this buffet has a meat, vegetarian and vegan option". The Canyon has more to it, covers the same ground and has better options / fidelity and functionality.

      Thanks for the tip. I've noticed an Ogre pedal on eBay earlier (they're hard to miss). Might try one at some point. I have tried the volume trick with a pedal, and you can do it like that as well. I prefer the volume knob.

  • @MagisterTuomo
    @MagisterTuomo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Yeah, well. I will admit that the pedal sounds good (the three I've owned didn't really get to snuff) and the review was good enough.
    But you ain't shit before you parade your local town square in a royal cape, crown and a bullet belt. Only then are you trüe enough.
