This reminds me of the book purple hibiscus. Religion became more important than building true relationship with God.

My God, how horrible to endure that kind of abuse from anyone, especially a parent. It hurts me just to hear you speak about it. I read your reply to another subscriber and you were really able to show God's love to your Father, a man who despitefully used and abused you. Those experiences could have made you mean, evil and bitter. But instead, you grew stronger and continued to show God's love to others. You can never tell what someone has gone through in their life just by looking at them. I'm truly happy that you got through all that horror. But, I think I'm most thankful for the loving spirit that shines through you into the world ...and for that wonderfully infectious laugh! May God continue to richly bless and keep you!

💖Oh my beautiful friend what a sad story. I was a daddy’s girl for years until I did things that disappointed and shamed him. We grew distant. Then he got sick and I even quit my job to care from him. I have two younger sisters that had military careers that they didn’t want to give up. It was so hard sometimes because he was wheelchair and bed bound and had to be cared for around the clock. I did this for five years. But I was so glad and thankful at the end that we BOTH apologized to each other and made amends. He passed five years ago in my arms and not a day goes by that I don’t miss him and think of him in some way. I am so glad you guys were able to make peace and I can laugh about it now. U are such a strong, beautiful women💖💋

I'm a Catholic and I just want to say your Dad did not do this because he was Catholic He did it because he had that kind of character. Very sorry you had to go through this. Funny, if he had a true relationship with God in the Catholic Church, he would have been kind and loving and understanding, and explained why we do what we do in the Catholic Church, and also looked for suitable youth programs for you, you probably would have come back to the Church. I also had a Pentecostal stint in my youth and came back to the Catholic Church. I'm better for having had both experiences. Im a Charismatic now and it's awesome.. receiving the Eucharist and at the same time having a personal, phenomenal relationship with the Holy Spirit.

Confront him with the story and demand an apology from him but please forgive him. I know it hurts but it is all in the past. Acts 5:40.. Peter and John were flogged for the same.
Ndoo (sorry oo) my sister. Please don't take your negative experience to heart. You must put your past where it belongs. Love covers a multitude of sin, cover your dad's sins and pray for him. The sick can be sick in the mind also due to many factors, and the sick need physicians. Hand your pain and dad to Christ the physician. As I wrote in your other post educating our people with words of truths is the way forward. We who love truth and justice should express it. Jisike...

    • @summeraku
      @summeraku  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Thanks Elisa, we wouldn't have shared our struggles like that without exhausting all avenues. We've gone to brokers... we've done everything. savings alone can not get you a mortgage. You have to prove that you can repay your mortgage monthly for the whole duration of your repayment.. in our own case, Ken is not able to go back to work and my income alone is seen as insufficient because they have to consider how much it costs to provide for 5 children monthly and what you would have left monthly after providing for children to be able to pay your mortgage.
It was a hard decision to come here and poor our hearts out like that. That's life.. there will always be struggles.. today it's us, tomorrow it will be some one else.

Madam summer, please at times learn how not to share some stories please I beg you!
It’s not my concern, but an advice!
Some people on this platform have a worst story than you, though!
My reason I said you shouldn’t bring all your story here is this,
Please try and screw than the comments, some comment over here are not supposed to be so!
Just see the insults on your dad!
I don’t like when someone is bringing insults on parents or on elders!
One thing I like about your show is you don’t like insults!
But now, you bringing insults on your dad!
Past is past, let it die that way!
    Bless you

      Hi Courage Oman,
Some Nigerians fail to express their points without insults.. I try to moderate and delete as many comments as I can. The plan is to share stories that people can take a thing or two out of but many Nigerians fail to do that. They simply result to cursing and abuse.
That mentality really needs to end.
Thanks for your contribution. This is one of my old videos... I’ll find time to go through and delete and block people.

Chemire M. For someone to find another faith outside what her parents introduce her to is not a reason to abuse or stop supporting the person as a parent, but you have are not justified to make a comment about how leaving Catholicism as you put and hell being real. Let me tell you it is not about which church you belong it does not belong it's about your personal life and relationship with God.
people will continue to choose the most comfortable way they thinks that can be able to serve their God.
