      No doubt! And it's always fun playing with different profiles on the back end...sometimes people get so stuck on fishing the one thing everyone else is, when there may be something that's even "catchier" that day. Thanks for watching!

    Great instructional video on Ned Rig Walleye fishing using the VMC Jig heads and the 4" TRD . A also the use of electronics really made a big difference in demonstrating the mood and position of the fish in relation to the bottom and also relation to the boat. I learned a lot watching this video, & found it to be very enjoyable too. Glad your back out there fishing 🎣 Brett!!!

    Nice video! On another note bassin for walleye. Anyone ever throw plastics on a lindy rig for walleye? Only ever hear of live bait, but just got done watching Jacob wheelers Carolina rig(same thing as a lindy rig, right?) video and got me thinking. Always trying to convert the 2 species of rigs into one another.
    Been trying to throw hints at zman to make an elaztec leech for awhile now. Lol

    • @TargetWalleye
      @TargetWalleye  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thx Nicholas! I've had some GREAT luck running different Gulp! baits on rigs and spinners. Started doing it when the tiny bluegill were super thick and kept robbing my leeches and crawlers...couldn't keep the bait fishing long enough to get a walleye to bite. Started playing with some of the Gulp! goodies and they definitely catch walleyes.

    I’m a big back troller for walleyes. Do you think a Ned rig would work for this method?

    • @TargetWalleye
      @TargetWalleye  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Tim! They reeeeally shine for casting. That being said, there's no reason you couldn't bump up to a slightly heavier head, get the bait way out away from the boat, and fish it like you would back trolling with a jig + minnow nice and slow. Ned Rigs were actually originally designed to be fished suspended in the water column. Some days the fish want them up above their heads, and others they want to tight to bottom. Gotta play with it day to day to see what kind of mood they are in. Good luck!

    • @CarlsGuideServices
      @CarlsGuideServices 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They work awesome for that as well.

  • @davidwhite1013
    @davidwhite1013 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’m guessing that the Ned rig excels in clear water and falls off dramatically in stained and dirty water

    • @TargetWalleye
      @TargetWalleye  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely since it's a visual thing. Stained or dirty water you want something that moves a little more water or has rattles. But that's the cool thing about the Ned Rig, is you can put whatever you want on the back of it if you need a profile that moves a little more water, or I'll even shove a rattle into the plastic.... 🤫

    What net are you using?

    • @TargetWalleye
      @TargetWalleye  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey John - That's a Bubba Blade Carbon Fiber Net (I believe the medium size). GREAT net for pitching jigs and whatnot, and for scooping fish solo. If you run a lot of treble-hook baits or crankbaits, they like to get stuck and tangeld in the net. And would definitely want something with a longer handle for reaching out behind the boat when trolling. But overall I really like it for casting, it's super light and looks sharp.

    • @johno7435
      @johno7435 2 ปีที่แล้ว
