Swimbait fishing tips for scattered walleyes (AGGRESSIVE bites!)

- It doesn’t matter what lake I’m headed to or what time of year it is, I will always have a swimbait rigged-up in my bait rotation when figuring out what the walleyes want that day…because when it’s on, it’s on! There’s no better way to cover water and catch a bunch of fish.
There’s a ton of different variations and tweaks you can make to your setups whether the fish are shallow vs deeper…on sand vs weeds vs rocks…or if the fish’s moods are funky vs hot-to-trot.

I upgraded my boat batteries to lithium last year and could NOT be more happy!
I went with Amped Outdoors' 36V 100Ah trolling motor lithium battery system (which is two 36V 50Ah LiFePO4 batteries in parallel). I was able to shave off roughly 140 pounds 😳 by running those 2 lithiums vs 3 lead or AGM batteries, and of course get some amazing run times:

Which also freed up an extra battery slot in my boat, so I was able to plug in this 130Ah beast (only weighs 31 lbs) to exclusively run all of my electronics - fer dayzzzz 🔋 - instead of running them off of my cranking battery:

Did the same thing this weekend! Fishing walleye in 6-7 feet of water with a swimbait, came out with a 40" Pike! Did catch a hand full of walleyes too.

Haven’t used swim baits much because I don’t have spot lock or even side imaging but seeing this gives me so much more confidence to throw them. Especially when nothing else is working. Good content here.

Was a great weekend for swimbait fishing. Broke my walleye PB and caught my first ever muskie, both on paddletails. Great video!
Idk how you were able to hold that pike like that. I always get side swiped and bit by them.

Love the content! Thanks for the tips. Are you typically trying to keep bottom contact along the retrieve, or do you swim it off bottom? The FFS catches looked like you were swimming the bait a foot or so off the bottom, but obviously there were fish following on those instances.

Trolling swimbaits on a mister twister spinner mid summer over cabbage beds for Crappie/Sunnys is deadly;) Unless there small enough to boat flip I always net them stinking pike, thrashing around by the side of the boat has got me to many hooks in the hands over the years. A number 7 rap with a hook in your thumb and the rest in a flopping pike will make you express yourself quite loudly;)
