    You can use it on Ninja V but you have to pay a $75 upgrade

      You have to pay to use EL Zone if you buy the new Ninja V?

      I was watching this on my TV and grabbed my laptop to point out it is on the Ninja V with the paid upgrade

      @@_MurphyAlexander_ No, there are two new Ninja models that have AtomOS11 built-in, the Ninja and the Ninja Ultra. The Ninja V and V+ are legacy products that recently received the free base AtomOS11 upgrade, but require the purchase of the "OS11 Feature Pack" in order to receive the same features as the newer Ninja/Ninja Ultra respectively. The V+ or Ultra is necessary if you wish 6KP60 RAW or 8K/30P.

    For Ninja V+ it's $200 to update to get EL Zone along with other features.

    Actually LUTs does not impact the EL-Zone output ... it's the same with and without LUT. The most important thing is to set proper color profile and gammut (as you showed up in this video).

    I got original Ninja V and I got EL-Zone ... but had to pay $79 to get this option ... it's paid update for Atomos OS11.

    Thank you for the video. Can you output the false color EL zone overlay to another monitor?

      I dont think so, only the image as is.

    Thank you for the informative insight. I wish the EL Zone System could be implemented on the Atomos SUMO19, even via a paid firmware update.

    It's sad that it is a paid feature on the Ninja V. I had to pay for SDI RAW and plus the back unit, now they are charging for an update to use a monitoring tool. At this point, I should just sell it and get the new one, after all of these paid features, it's more expensive than the new one or the 7''.

    How does this work for other camera manufacturers as you mentioned, Marcos? - it really doesn’t. It’s purely for RED cameras 😢

    I shoot in Sony S-cinetone picture profile not log. Do you have to shoot in log for EL Zones to work?

    • @MarcosRochaTV
      @MarcosRochaTV  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, you have to output RAW or Flat profiles

    So false color and EL Zone both measure your expose with stops and use colors to show them on screen.
    What make EL Zone more useful or is it?

    • @MarcosRochaTV
      @MarcosRochaTV  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      EL Zone works in Stops so it is much more intuitive. Other false color systems use the IRE scale, not Stops. To learn more, you should check out Ed Lachman's website: www.elzonesystem.com/ - I've also done other videos on how to use the EL Zone system and setting exposure using SmallHD Monitors. The concept is the same if you check those out.

    Hi, I wonder if EL Zone works properly with your camera. If you close the aperture EL Zone would show you the crushed dark parts in black. If you feed the Ninja with Sony S-Log3 / S-Gammut Log EL Zone is displayed completely out of whack meaning it doesn’t display the crushed dark parts as black but only goes to dark purple. It’s a bug I’ve noticed only yesterday and have already opened a support ticket with Atomos. People on some Atomos forums have confirmed this bug. As far as the signal coming from the RED goes I wonder if the Ninja shows EL zone correctly or has the same fault

      if you are seeing the dark purple your exposure is above -8.5 underexposed, the black will only appear when the luminance is below -8.5 stops.
