I enjoy your videos and love when you make a mistake and teach how to correct it like cutting fabric too short. So much knowledge when sometimes you think you ruined something but you show how to fix it.
Note to self: Cutting list is at 4:20! (I have an old practice quilt that I think would be better served by turning it into a bag. It's not big enough for my lap and not pretty enough for the wall, but I'm still fond of it and would like to see it get a new life.)
I just needed to pop back in to say how much I love your explanations and how clear and concise you are without being too chatty or using vulgar language. I can recommend your videos to everyone and no one will get offended. It's a rare thing these days. Just wanted to say I appreciate your content. Thank you!
I love it! This could be a good carry on bag, overnight bag. I know when I travel by air, I have projects like knitting and clothes, in case I get way laid at an airport, or an unexpected free night at a hotel, waiting for the next flight... and have my tablet, charger and phone, all with something to do. It weighs a lot less than my luggage! I do wonder how I'm able to carry knitting needles on a plane, but only coffee I've purchased inside the security area. Regardless of what I'm carrying, I'm always the one person who gets the pat down through the TSA. It never fails 😅. I took my daughter to the airport to study abroad in Ireland, and out of everyone in line, I got pulled over for a free massage, and I wasn't flying! It's just become a family joke now. 😂
My first thought was how did you get through with knitting needles? I wen't to Japan many years ago with my embroidery, and had to precut all my threads, but fortunately was allowed to take a sewing needle onboard😊
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs It was 5 years ago. Metal knitting needles, the long ones. Everyone around me was watching every stitch. Though not spunky young, I was hardly old, I reminded them of Grandma. I got that a lot flying as a Red Cross volunteer. But, I frequently travelled with my knitting! I had to go barefoot in the line, throw my coffee out, but knit away! I was surprised I was able to knit behind the TSA line, but on the plane as well. I just got "What a pretty color".
Hi Christine. Would it be possible for you, at some point in the future, to make a tutorial for a straightforward, short sleeve, over the head ladies top made in jersey fabric? It would be good to see how a top is constructed, in particular, neckline and sleeve cuffs/edging on the overlocker. Thank you 🙂
Awesome bag. I love that center zip pocket. My favorite videos are where you show us things to sell. I always appreciate your teaching style. Thank you for sharing ❤
Another great tutorial Christine! Thank you! I love making bags so I never tire watching you make them as I learn so much from you. You are such a good instructor and anything you decide to teach us would be wonderful ❤
Christine, this is an awesome bag video. Thank you for sharing it. I would love to see a video of how you attach the inside zipped pocket to the bottom of the bag so you don't have an opening under the pocket on the inside. Thank you again. I love your videos.
The design and construction are stellar. The assembly and attachment of the middle pocket was brilliant. A lot of thought went into your design and construction. That should be $100 bag -- it required a lot of extra steps to make it so special. Thanks for the video!
Love your bags! I also love watching your alterations. I haven’t ventured into clothing yet as I’ve only been sewing about 6 months now, my courage is growing thanks to you! So do what you like, I’ll keep watching😊
Hi Christine I really enjoy watching your bag tutorials and learn something new every time. I am happy with bags and all the different pockets and techniques you show. Maxine
Oh I needed this a week ago, I tried a recessed zipper and well, I failed so I took it out and just finished the bag with a regular zipper! Now I will have to try another bag with a recessed zipper following your video!
Happy Mother’s Day, Christine! You’ll probably see this after the fact, but know you were thought of in the states.❤ I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this bag! I’m working on tote bags now and have decided to add a tab with D ring inside to add keys, extra card holder, etc. I will definitely add that feature to this bag if/when I make it. I have such an abundance of upholstery fabric I need to use up, I might try to figure out how to incorporate that into this project (my pieces are at most 17” square so I’d have to piece it). I LOVE pockets so I’d add an extra, oversized pocket to the other side of lining and divide it into two pockets. I also prefer a crossbody strap, so would make that change as well. Thank you so much for all your videos! I love watching them and like so many others, learn so much from you. I would never have had the gumption or ideas to try altering a tutorial to meet my needs/wants without you.🥰 Hugs from Nevada, Cathy❤
Good bag Christine I need one for everyday use and this is just what i need might put another pocket in side or on the outside will wait until I choose my fabric keep doing what you are doing
I was just thinking about making a bag with a center section, one side for a laptop/ipad, and one side for all the other stuff I seem to need to carry around. And I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who sometimes insists on cutting fabric to the wrong dimensions. Love your videos.
I love the bag. Learned a lot. Thank you. I like all your tutorials. I learn something from all. Also, I like that you tell us what price you will sell it for. Please, keep it up.
Thanks Christine. Nice to watch you sew this bag. I’m going to be making a couple of beach bags this week. Our summer is coming in the UK. Always hopeful for some sunshine. But we’ve had so much rain at the beginning of this year. ☂️ Not sure whether to do a recessed zip. I might give it a go. I love how you fix things. You’d never know you added a little piece to the pocket. I really don’t like cutting out lol. That beautiful fabric and that first cut. . Oh my. Silly I know 🤪
Lovely bag, liked the fabric. For me, I'm not into making clothes. I made a few things many years ago when my daughter was young, but it's not for me. I love watching your bags and things.
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs I've really only been back at sewing for about 4 years - a break of about 40 years! I swore I would never go back to it, but here we are 😄
Love this. I would love to see how to sew a self drafted knit dress. I know you're coming up on winter so a short and a long sleeve version would be nice! Love all your videos.
Great bag. I am glad for instructions on recessed zipper. I have wanted to add that feature to a basic tote. I may add foam or fusible fleece to make it a laptop bag.
Christine, could you show us your process of creating a recessed zipper where there’s no zipper tail and the openings at both ends of the zipper are enclosed?
I love watching you make bags, but a top of some sort would be nice! I haven't made clothes before, but would like to make something to wear (that's not a scrunchie😂)
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs I don’t know how you find time to do all you do now. I absolutely love your tutorials and have already learned so much from you. Thank you for all you do 🥰
I really enjoy watching your videos n I really like how you say a price you wd charge for the different bags you make. Do you ever show how to alter ready made clothing? I wd be very interested in that also.
Hello! I’ve just found your videos and I am impressed! I’m excited to see what else you have done videos about. Sometime earlier mentioned having the inner pocket attached at the bottom. I assume that pocket then would also have the corners cut out for the boxed bottom, correct? Can’t quite be sure about this in my mind without actually doing it. Thanks for all your hard work and willingness to share these videos! 💗
Fabulous video as always Christine, thanks so much for all the details. One question though, is the camera at a strange angle or did you correct the strap misalignment offline? I have done this too many times and not discovered it till after topstitching but you didn’t comment on it. Seeing common mistakes makes your videos even more appealing to the rest of us!
Christine, do you have a tutorial on sewing hot pads? (Flat, square to help get hot items out of the oven. With a discussion of different heat-resistant layers.) I tried in my own with no pattern. would love to watch you make one to achieve a more polished look.
I would like to know if you have ever made a video of a fanny pack. That is What we call them in the US. It's a little bag that you can put around your waist that can hold various essential items
I've got a few project ideas in mind Glenda. Just seem to keep running out of time. I did something similar a while bag for dog walking th-cam.com/video/mVYHt1IGEcE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sSUidXUzalD5bCY_ 😁
My friend has asked for a bag exactly like this! Thanks for the great tutorial! I have a question on the construction of the boxed corners…is there any advantage to cutting the corners out before sewing them as opposed to sewing across the corner and then cutting off the excess?
It's really personal choice KB. I actually prefer folding and sewing at the machine, then cutting the little ears off. It saves time when making several bags😀
The only thing I’m not fond of is the openings on the ends of the recessed part of zippers. I would want to have the top of the bag completely closed. Is there a way to close the openings at the top of the bag?
I love your videos but yes, to learn how you make an item of clothing would also be great. I find understanding pattern instructions can be a challenge. thank you

You are so welcome Evelyn. Thank you😊
How funny! I was talking to my tablet that you need to open the recessed zip, then you realized it needed done. We do pay attention 😊❤
Haha, I always wonder how many are shouting at their screens when I forget something. I should do it more often😀
I’ll watch you sew whatever you choose and learn from your videos.
Christine is amazing!
Thank you so much😀
I enjoy your videos and love when you make a mistake and teach how to correct it like cutting fabric too short. So much knowledge when sometimes you think you ruined something but you show how to fix it.
Thank you so much Kathy. I almost deleted that from the video, but figured others would make similar mistakes😀
This is an awesome design. Loved how the inner pocket was narrower so it fit after the boxing. You think of everything. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Cynthia. I might try to fix one to the bottom soon😊
