Bless your sweet heart. I have never really liked the recessed zipper because of the openings at the top of the bag. Yay, now I can have an enclosed recessed zipper. Thank you so much.!!!
Oh this is just what I was hoping that you would show us sometime!! I personally don’t like that zipper tail hanging out of your previous bag. Thank you so much for your innovative ideas!! 😁🥰
Thank you for this video. I can see this fitting in so many of your previous bag tutorials. Thank you also for be a great blessing and inspiration for sewists of all levels. You are loved and appreciated.
Excellent!! Love the two sided tape idea for the zip. And the box corners are genius. I might try figuring out a way to add to an existing bag I made. Maybe with binding for the raw edges or something.
Awesome! What a great tutorial and so easy! Thank you for the bit at the end explaining how to size it to any size bag. It kept me from asking the question. My brain is calculating how it gets inset into the bag with the outer and lining (I’m envisioning five layers of thickness), so fire up your camera for episode two!
An absolutely fantastic tutorial once again Christine. I have never been a fan of my zippered bags not being completely closed. Thank you so very much for sharing the ideal solution.❤😂
Oh my goodness, you made that look so easy. It's kind of like a collar in a shirt. ❤ We will be waiting to see your bag, but I'm guessing you put it in just like a collar. Why does this look easier than the other way? That's beautiful fabric 🙂
Thank you so much, Christine!😊 I never liked the recessed zipper tab look. My next bag and future bags will have “enclosed recessed zipper”. Much appreciated you heard us, our needs. So thrilled to see your finished bag! You are awesome!
Thank you Christine for this terrific tutorial! Can't wait to see when you add it to the bag. Love the beautiful butterfly fabric! Appreciate all you do! ❤
I can't thank you enough for this video Christine. I was about to make a satchel for work and wanted to put a recessed zipper panel in it but was dreading the time it would take me to find one in another bag making video. 🤗
That's really ingenious Christine. Thanks so much for showing us how to do it. I didn't really understand how to calculate the exact lengths for my fabric strips though. Especially if my bag is a different width.
Christine, I found you this week and I decided it’s time to get my sewing machine back out. I have a request- any chance you could sew a garment bag? I would love to make one with a few pockets. But first I am making a vinyl bag (lined). Thank you for these videos, you are a great instructor. 😊
I love that butterfly print. I'm trying to get out of the bad habit of keeping a purse with me. It's not safe for an old woman to carry a purse anymore while shopping. Learning to carry only what I need (at the time) is not easy. I have been avoiding the places where it isn't safe to shop anymore (like our local Walmart). Your bag is going to be beautiful when it is finished.
It seems like the cut length of the zipper panel would need to be longer than the width of the bag dimension since the ends of the panel turn up a few inches. So I'm confused by that.
If you enjoyed this video & feel like giving something back to the channel, you can do that here..... www.buymeacoffee.com/stitchthisr
You are definitely one of my favorite TH-cam instructors. You have a calming voice very easy to listen to n explain things so well.
Thanks so much Ellen😀

Have fun experimenting Sharon😀
This is so much more intuitive than the last method I used for an enclosed recessed zipper! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you😁
I’ve been sewing bags for long time now. This is a very handy method to know. Thank you
Thanks Wendy😀

Thank you Norma😀
Great demo as usual thank you .
Thank you Sandy😀
I really like this. ❤. I don’t like to zipper tabs on the end of zippers. I will be doing it this way. You make it look so easy
Thanks so much Mary😀
Great tutorial, thanks :). Please could you do a tutorial on how to insert chunky/jumbo zips either plastic or metal?
Thanks Teddy. I rarely use chunky or metal zips except when replacing them in jeans. If I get some, I'll try to think of something😀
Great video! Thank you!
Thank you Lina😀

Welcome to the channel Sharon. The garment bag has been on my list for ages😀
I love that butterfly print. I'm trying to get out of the bad habit of keeping a purse with me. It's not safe for an old woman to carry a purse anymore while shopping. Sadly it's becoming like that here too Arvetta😀
So the recessed zip boxes corner is always 3/4" and the bottom boxes corners will be .5" less than the width of one zipper panel?
Not always Lori. It depends on the size and look you want for your panel😁
It seems like the cut length of the zipper panel would need to be longer than the width of the bag dimension since the ends of the panel turn up a few inches. So I'm confused by that.
If you made that longer, then it's likely to cause rippling inside the bag
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs I proceeded with making a trial piece, and now it makes sense, although it initially didn't!
🥰🥰🥰
Thanks joy😀
I'm in the middle, wondering why you put the box corners flapped over the zipper?! Time will tell.
I hope you liked it that way😀
