      @@gsd32i hi ..thank you for taking the time to reply, we really love the concept, but it’s unbelievably expensive for laminated glass and aluminium, I’m bothered about condensation and it leaking , our size is 5mx5m we are still thinking it over, I’m pretty sure we will go for it in the end, we had crocodile out very similar, and another company coming Thursday, then decision time.

      @@janethothersall8345 you will get condensation as its not double glazed. You will get cobwebs, as it's an outdoor space. Birds have sadly met their death too as they don't see the glass, but we have tried to make it bird friendly. We live in it from April onwards and we call it the snooze room! Best of all we can open it all up. One thing I would consider if doing it again would be a different patio material, possibly porcelain tiles as with our dogs I have to power wash the slabs, gets a bit messy but in summer it dries out quickly. Best of luck.👍

      @@gsd32i …thank you so much for all the info, yes, the condensation will annoy us, but will will just have to open the doors …we are thinking porcelain, but it’s so slippy if it gets wet, so much to think of, if it was a quick fix we’d just do it, it’s all the extras that add up, I’ll keep you updated, and thanks again! And likewise I’m sure our pooches will love it too 🤣

    Hi GSD321, thank you for taking your time out and reviewing /sharing your experience with this product and installation. I liked the way you are meticulous and detailed with your review. Excellent! Indeed, you are right in saying there is no such information on the internet. You are the first. Keep up your good work.

    Lovely sun room. I can see there has been some minor issues..there are water repeliant out there that will stop the Indian stone from sucking the water inside. I had those products on my flat roof and no more water. It will work on the patio too. Thank for the tip. Great place to sit & chill. 👍🏼😉

    Brilliant result I must say. QQ if I can pls, For the corner column posts, did they drilled directly into the Indian sand stone base or used separate foundation for it and then put your tile back?

      Drilled into stone as I had concrete foundations when they laid patio originally .

    We are considering one on our north east facing patio. But a bit confused between solid roof conservatory for better insulation and glass sunroom with few heaters. Any suggestions based on your experience?
    Otherwise really like all your videos with practical thoughts, thanks for sharing..

      Into our 4th year now with the sunroom, in fact my wife is still sitting in it where she has been all day. Living in the uk, sunny, wet and windy!!! Today heavy showers and windy although it did dry out later in the day. Depends I guess where you live. we have the electric roof sun blind which we keep extended basically all year round. We kind of live in it from April to October and call it the snooze room!!!! Dogs and cats love it. Can get warm in summer though, hence roof blind. Very well constructed but it's not a conservatory as no double glazing. Attracts flys as it's warm and they collect on the roof blind and we get lots of cobwebs.It is an outdoor room/space with glass sides and glass roof after all . Glass gets dirty and takes about 2-3 hours to clean. To start with I was cleaning the room every day, now I just hoover it with a cordless Dyson as we have x2 German shepherd dogs to get rid of the dog hair, the glass I do rarely as can't be bothered and ill vacuum the cobwebs possibly once a fortnight if I can be bothered . We weren't interested in a solid roof at the time as we liked the idea of the glass roof, however as the blind is extended all year blocking the light coming in through the glass and the heat, a solid roof may be a better option, as the glass roof is an absolute pain to clean and i've only done that once in 4 years!!!!! back breaker !!!!!That said we like the high ceiling and the cosy feel with the roof shade extended. Its survived numerous storms and snow and there is no corrosion whatsoever on the paint either inside or out and we live on an island surrounded with salt water. Well, thats all I can say really. Good luck....👍

    Were you able to use it during the winter months? Does it get too cold or do the heaters provide enough heat?

    • @gsd32i
      @gsd32i  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Our sunroom is on the east end of our house and so after midday it is in shade . In the winter if the temperature was below approximately 13 degrees then the heaters struggled to raise the temperature to above 15 degrees , from memory! We used it numerous times in the winter on dry days with some sun . The dogs use it every day !

    • @gsd32i
      @gsd32i  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, they are the heaters that Weinor supply. As for winter, we have used them but you wouldn't be sat there in a t-shirt.......if it's about 4-5 degrees outside then the heaters will get the sunroom up to 18 or thereabouts from memory .

    • @justbrowsing7565
      @justbrowsing7565 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @gsd32i I was wondering if infrared, air to air heat pump or fan heater would be best / easier. I find infrared just heats what it's facing so you sort of need 360 degree heaters to heat all of you, otherwise you have a cold back or front.

    • @gsd32i
      @gsd32i  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@justbrowsing7565 indeed go with what you think would be better . It’s a glass box with no insulation so you may get condensation forming which is what we get in the winter months if we open our snug doors into the sunroom …. Warm air hitting cold glass = condensation bit its not an issue . Had ours for 4 years now and love it .

    • @justbrowsing7565

      @gsd32i maybe an air conditioning unit would be good with a heat pump? Would dry the room up, heat and cool. More efficient too?

    We have now ordered ours to be fitted in April. Can you let me know more about the ‘ gap brush strips ‘ - do they cause condensation, and do you still recommend them for extra wind protection /insulation? Thank you

    • @gsd32i
      @gsd32i  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For us on in the Uk I would definitely go with the brushes . They simply push on . If they’re not for you after fitting then simply pull them off and store them 👍The condensation, in my opinion is caused by us opening our gable end doors into the sunroom which is only single glazed . Just like old house from many years ago, warm air going into a cold place ! Gale force winds of recent times haven’t caused any wind breeze to come in . Always had the brushes on so can’t comment what it’s like without . 😊

      @@rippers8541 no problem . New motor fitted for my stuck vertical blind today . There was a crack on the motor casing letting water in causing it so short . They had to take the whole unit to their workshop to dry the inside of the tube housing out ! All good now . Spent a couple of hours cleaning the windows today. Warming up so I would invest in a can of fly spray ! Lol 😂
