  • Our Weinor sunroom was installed in Sept/October 2020 and we have had minor several issues.
    1) The transformer/control unit of the LED roof bar lights failed at 12 months
    2) The electric motor for the vertical blind failed at 14-15 months.
No issues whatsoever, I just think we were unfortunate. Item 1, has been replaced under warranty and is fine. Item 2, a claim has been made to Weinor by our local agent/supplier and we are now just waiting for a new electric motor.
I believe that the warranty is for 12 months BUT the installer thought the electric motors may have a 2 year warranty, subject to confirmation . I couldn't find anything regarding this on the UK Weinor website.
Great product and glad we had it installed.

    UPDATE 1ST MARCH 2022
The installers attended on site and there was water ingress into the electric motor causing corrosion etc. The installer had never seen this before . So, the whole of the blind unit has been removed and taken to the workshop in order that it could be dried out, before the new motor is installed. Should be back with us at the end of the week.

    Only a 12 month warranty!! 😮 Some competitors offer 10 year ones…

Thank you. The possibility of leaking has put me off. Very informative video.

In that case you you need a conservatory ? Mine was laid on Indian sandstone patio slabs which are an even texture. The small amount of water that we get in isn't an issue . Just had gale force winds and massive amounts of rain and had a small amount come in. Don't let it put you off...unless you want a watertight conservatory. enjoy the weekend 😁

If installed and sealed correctly nothing should be leaking or feel damp with these sunrooms. Although the stone tiles look great in this vid, stone is highly porous and is not recommended as water/damp is easily transferred through the stone slabs and grout lines.
Porcelain and Ceramic are much better floor covering options for sunroom/wintergardens and you can get a watertight, well insulated room if the floor and outbuilding is fitted at the same time, not installing straight on top of the floor.

Hi, having watched all of your Weinor videos, we finally committed and purchased one to fit into an internal corner between our kitchen extension and our lounge. Our glass room is a touch smaller than your own, but still cost over £16K. Frustratingly we are still waiting for the installation guys to return to fit all of the trims, 5 weeks now. This is due to Weinor in Germany making a mistake and sending all of the trims at a 30mm depth when we required 40mm throughout - hence it's still very drafty!...
So my question to you is, how is your silicon mastic holding up? I believe that you have only siliconed the inside trims to the walls and floors so far. I'm thinking of sealing both the inside and outside but do you think I'll be wasting my time and money doing the outside?
Sorry to hear of your latest niggles with the Weinor accessories but very interested as your build is over a year ahead of ours. As our glass room is north facing, I opted for no extras besides the glazing brush strips and a key operated cylinder lock (which is still on order...) but have had a Daikin 3.5Kw air-con installed and once the trims are on I'll fit a couple of LED lighting tracks.

Outside sealant and the inside were done by a professional sealant company with no issues . I did think of doing all inside and outside but decided against that incase I needed access to the inside vertical infill panels scribed against my granite wall , electric cables etc . I didn’t do the outside along the base purely because I wanted any water to be able to exit and not pool under the base rail/track. On one of the vertical corners (tv end) I have run some black sealant from top to bottom as there was a small gap between the corner upright and the vertical upright which the glass panel slides shut into , which when it rained very hard from that direction caused a bit of pooling of water in that corner as it got in through the very small vertical gap ( make sense ?) as I am a bit ocd I try to keep as much of the damp stuff out …. But like I have said it’s a sunroom that keeps the wind and rain out (mostly) and it’s not a conservatory. I also call it my snooze room ! Enjoy 😉

@@gsd32i Thank you for taking the time out to answer my queries, it's much appreciated and has given me somethings to consider when the trims are finally fitted.

Hi, struggling to understand the costs for these things. You mentioned yours cost around £16k and was a touch smaller than the one in the video, did that include installation? The bit I really don't understand is if the one in the vid was only a touch larger, how did it cost so much more at over £30k?! Thanks

Hi. The sunroom has been up for over 3 years and last week was covered in snow. No issues with the roof or anything else tbh. Cleaning the glass and getting rid of the cobwebs are the 2 items that I have to deal with, as and when I can be bothered to do it! 😂
