      @@vcondon1127 hi . Off the top of my head , when the temperature is about 10 degrees centigrade, the 2 heaters struggle to heat the glassroom and you certainly wouldn’t just be in a t shirt ! If you are after true year round usability, then it’s either a double glazed conservatory or a proper extension . Best thing we ever did was get the Weinor glass room. Didn’t want a conservatory or proper extension ! Our dogs love it and so do we . But they aren’t cheap .

Other things brochures don't tell you, is condensation as its single glazed, birds flying into the glass! and flies enjoying the warmth of the inside(can of fly spray and a quick squirt killed about 50 overnight!, only happened the once but i now know what to do when it happens again!!! ) don't let that put you off though.........has been well tested with torrential rain and gale force winds already. regards and good luck

    • @gsd32i
      @gsd32i 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Mark . The whole idea is that this is not a conservatory ie no double glazing . Simple answer is yes it gets hot but we have those electric sun blinds and we can open any of the sides for air flow or all of them . Yes gets cold in winter but we do have those heaters installed. One needs to really know what you want the structure to do . In my case in the 8 months or so we’ve had it we’ve spent more time in it ,in that short time , compared to the 12 years we’ve been living in the house . This patio area is exposed and was basically not useable when windy and when the sun goes down . We will be snoozing in it later today 🤪. Bottom line is you need to know if you want a conservatory or a sunroom/glass room . Either way we made the correct decision for us and the aesthetics of our granite gable end still remain without a “heavy looking “ conservatory. Sorry for the long winded answer 🤦‍♂️

Your guess isn’t too far off. Our fitting team were brilliant and very tidy. Weinor may not be the cheapest but from what I have seen so far, the product is extremely good. Very impressed and our exposed windy patio has been used more than ever, even through the cold winter, albeit with the heaters on. As it’s east facing we get part shade from 1pm onwards as the gable casts a shadow. The dogs love it too!

      @gsd32i 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We did purchase one of those Karcher cordless window cleaners . Although I initially cleaned the glass as though it were a new car (🤦‍♂️) that phase soon passed . Glass is relatively quick and easy to clean but having hard time getting rid of the glass safety sticker marks which show up when we get condensation in sunroom ! . The glass stays really clean especially as I am next to a field which gets dusty at times .On a side note I have now had the inside bottom frame where it meets the patio professionally mastiked as well as the outside where the sunroom joins the granite gable end . This was to make it as Wind proof as possible and to try and reduce the water creep from the outside of the patio to the inside, mostly across patio cement joints.. Possibly should have used an invisible patio sealer before I had the sunroom fitted to reduce this as the Indian sandstone is porous. At the end of the day it is a sunroom and not a conservatory though ! Thanks for comments 👍

    Who did you go through: Eden, Samson or somebody else?
    How long was it between ordering and delivery?
    lastly, any tips or watch-outs with the supplier?

    • @gsd32i
      @gsd32i 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi . I live in Jersey so can’t help you in relation to that one ref uk suppliers !! Our order took about 8 weeks . I would order the draught strips which fit on the edges of the sliding glass panels if you’re site is as windy as ours ! You can always remove them . Check to see if the handles are the slim profile ones which are the standard ones ... I found these too slim and a bit awkward to grab hold of, so I just asked the supplier to order the larger profile ones , they are much better . We have x2 2kw heaters and having used the sunroom loads when it’s been wet n windy and 12 degrees outside , one heater will get it up to a comfortable 19-20 degrees and you could use the 2nd to get to temperature quicker , so for me the 2 heaters were a great choice to give flexibility . The sunroom is only single glass panels and not double glazed so you will get condensation in these autumn/winter months if you have a warm room going into the sunroom , this includes the roof panels too ... so don’t freak out ! We went for the electric side awning and so glad we did as with the low sun at this time of year it cuts the glare out very well and also stops birds crashing into the glass sides . Sadly we have had 2 fatal bird impacts and a few days ago a beautiful kestrel flew into the side , fortunately it was only concussed and it survived but this is a problem I was not aware of and is a problem for birds not seeing the glass. So I need to work on how to make the birds see the glass !! Our house is granite and the suppliers had to scribe and make infill panels where the upright posts were not against the wall because of the rough granite causing gaps. If you don’t have a smooth wall I would recommend them scribing panels to keep most of the wind out . Also our patio has a fall away from the house of 4-5 cm so ensure that they are aware of the fall and can cut and fit infill pieces to stop wind coming in underneath . You may get water bleeding inside if you have patio slabs like ours . They are uneven and water gets in under the bottom rail / bottom infill panels . I think I will get someone to mastic along the patio and up the granite gable to seal the gaps to prevent as much water coming in as I can .after all this is a sunroom and not a conservatory so you must be aware of that . If you want a water tight structure you will have to order a conservatory. You will get very small amounts of water on the inside of the bottom of the base tracks simply due to the small gap between the sliding panels . I have ordered the wifi unit which allows any phone etc via the Weinor app to operate the heaters lights and side and ceiling awnings , but that hasn’t come down yet . The standard remote is ok though but I wanted everything!! I have installed double sockets etc to power the heaters and awnings and have also installed cat 6 cables for WiFi and plugging into the tv which I have fitted and pass a signal from my satellite box in the house via a hdmi converter which then routed the signal along the cat 6 cable and then another converter in the glasshouse converts it back to allow an hdmi cable to plug into the tv !! I also have a cat 6 cable going into the tv for Netflix etc . The lighting that I have in the roof is great and you don’t need anymore . That’s about it .... my wife and I love the sunroom and especially the fact that we will be able to open it all up when the weather gets warmer . Anything else then ask 🤪

      @@gsd32i Legend! Thanks so much. You were right on your video, there really isn't much information out there. Did you get the lights and heaters from Weinor or do something yourself? • @gsd32i
      @gsd32i 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lol . Yes all horribly expensive . But I guess you pays your money.......... The good thing with all the Weinor stuff is that it’s all the same colour including the heaters. If you want to save money then if your happy with a different brand /colour of unit then it’s up to you . But I do not know how you would mount another make onto the horizontal bars. The led lights come with the roof bars and are built in and even with the ceiling awning closed the light is less but is softer and comes through the fabric of the awning . If you are going for the Weinor glass house I would bite the bullet and go the whole hog and be brand specific that way everything works from one remote control awning , lights , heaters etc etc . For my glasshouse I could have bought a very nice 2nd hand Porsche 911 etc !!!!!! But I have spent more time in the glass house in the 2 months we’ve had it compared to the total time we have sat on the patio which gets the shade from midday onwards in the 13 years we’ve been at the house . Like I say you pay your money ...... for me it would be a no brainer . Good luck 😉

    How is cleaning and general maintenance with this? Do you think this product is appropriate for a place that gets snow for 4 months. When I say snow, I mean Canada snow. 😅

    • @gsd32i
      @gsd32i ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure, it all depends on the snow loading I guess. general maintenance is keeping the cob webs away and cleaning ALL the glass. Just cleaned the glass after 6 months of not doing it......yuk!!But looks so much better with clean glass 😂

      Hi, mine was over £30,000. So they are not a cheap item ….. but significantly cheaper than an extension! There are companies who offer a similar cheaper product , depending on your budget . Give your local dealer a call if it’s something you’re interested in installing .

      Hi it’s 3.5 x5.5 metres . If you go a Weinor site in your area you can get an estimate for the price . Mine was over 25k uk pounds 🤦‍♂️ expensive bit like all things you pay for what you get . Currently use it everyday. There are other sunrooms out there with cheap ones and not so cheap ones you just have to see what’s in your budget ... love ours and so do our dogs !

      As stated many times in the videos , it’s not a double glazed conservatory . You need to determine what your needs are and get the right product for you . Yes , using external grade cat 6 cables . From my attic and made a fake/dummy rainwater downpipe to run them down and then under the gravel . All dry and no risk of getting wet . Electrics completed by qualified person.
