There’s this guy I keep matching up with. “The joker” is what he calls himself. Every single time, he spams that death spell. It’s that and star shower, stars of ruin, and that death explosion spell. On top of that, he uses spinning slash with poison, which is an instant proc and easy stun lock. The worst part is that every single time he beats me with his bullet hell build, he DMs me to taunt me about my defeat. Like, he genuinely thinks that he’s good.

Facts. I've been playing around with a Moonveil/spells build, but I always wave regardless of whether I'm being invaded or invading. At the end of the day, I'm just trying to have fun.

But isn't there a tear to put in your custom vial that regenerates you instead of taking damage when elemental projectiles hit you ? But anyway, stay strong ! ✌️😁

The most serious mistake you made is having dodged the skulls sideways when instead you should run towards whoever threw them and perform a single roll, the skulls chasing you will collide against the floor and cancel themselves out

As an experienced PVP player I have some tricks on dealing with magic players. 1. Agression is key. The best way of dealing with a magic user is to run right in their faces if you spot em with a staff. From then you can catch them in the cast when trying to spam. Way to maximise your chances are to light roll which makes evading stars of ruin easier and using a heavy thrusting sword for the running r2s and maybe a UGS for the crouch poke roll catch or a GS for the r1 roll catch. Also not that if you have a bit of ping, magic is very easy to dodge. For stars of ruin just spam roll and for rancor spells just roll through it just before the 1st skull is about to hit u.
Dozens of comments of people seeing this mage as a hard fight with no counter before seeing yours. YES ! Aggress the enemy mage ! He has Moonveil and you have a true combo if you unlock at each hit, plus you have hyperarmor. ( Well I'll assume the third hit does not combo with that ping. ) At least I know there will be one guy who actually takes the time to learn the game in these comment section instead of saying 125 is shit tryhard level and rl 200, where builds litteraly evaporate, is better.

You can always face tank it, hyperarmor through it and vigorcheck him. 99,9% of all mages never level up vigor past 40.

stars of ruin and 3 comets. So I‘d alwayd avoid face tanking. The worst kind of mage is the 50 mind comet spammer because unless you have a really good chase-down weapon and a lot of luck they‘ll barely leave you with a choice but to face tanks their comet. Then it‘s Erdtree Greatshield time
Tried PVP once and had a person whose connection had to powered by a goat on a treadmill. Never tried PVP again after that.

Thats why you should always carry a small shield with spell parry, dudes entire plan was keeping you in neverending rolls so he can roll catch you without much effort, parry the skulls now he will have to roll while you keep pressure as an invader im so used to play against 3 men once you parry spells you get room to breathe

Pointless in my saying how I am not even going to engage with them. Showing them their bait playstyle iss useless. Either we do nothing or they give up and attack me and we can actually begin fighting. I play souls games for pvp, I am not going to spam role to feints, no matter your passive poise level, your not tanking a 2 frame r2 from a caestus
Any videos I have is my following a theme, a style, restricting myself to something, or over a year old when the game is new. I am not crouch poking with max poise. Or running around with at curved sword passively spacing whiff punishes. That and elden ring pvp is no example to take serious to begin with. It's jank as all hell and has plenty problems especially with how they ruined poise. Having anymore insight in elden ring pvp isn't saying much. Ds3 on the otherhand, if you have any of those videos than that will be saying something
I guess the full carian knight set or white mask set build videos weren't cosplays....
Or the serpentboneblade combo video wasn't me only using the serpentboneblade showcasing a unique combo for a weapon noone uses and not even for the poison it has. I'll see if you have anything on ds3, that's the only metric for trying to brag about anything for pvp

I use Assassin's Gambit as soon as I see mages like this. Makes you semi invisible that they can't lock on to you so long you are mid to long range from them. Then spam range attacks like the Thunderbolt ash or the Storm Blade or Gravilty Bolt ash.
If they didn’t fuck with poise, it would be fine. But no, fromsoft is fantastic at making a game, but PvP is not their strong suit

I’m playing on my level 275 acc recently and the arena is pree decent, not many spammers, aside the occasional faith/ arcane build

I love player vs player when the avg connection is 400 ms. It's my absolute favorite
I did my duels between 168 and 175, most of the time the other player would great you or buff while you buff. But about a quarter of them would attack while you bow or something. Of course if they win after doing that they always think they've accomplished something

In fights like this, if possible fight fire with fire. Dpam moonveil every time they try to cast a spell. Its surprisingly effective.
Had one guy with these spells and duel spears. Sad part is I almost beat him twice but he would just run away and full heal.

You could have trivialized this fight if you had the Erdtree Greatshield! Reflect all those silly spells and shove em right back in that mage’s face. The slow moving rancor would have been ridiculously easy to reflect too. The reflect also does some massive damage. It usually can one or two shot the squishier ones.
The shield will either make them think twice about spamming or they’ll be stupid enough to continue spamming and end up killing themselves lol. Not to mention how insanely satisfying it is to reflect spells too.
Alternatively, a parry shield with Carian Retaliation would have been helpful here too if weight load is a concern

This is why i love elden ring pvp. It gives me a chance to learn from their mistakes and use my +3 club with beasts roar on them and just kinda kill them with relative ease. Or you can just use the assasins gambit and that spell that i forgot the name of because they stack and basically makes magic builds useless since they wont be able to lock onto you
