OLD; it was mean and ground-breaking for Jag. The new style is too plain for me. I hope the don't try and cater to specific crowds with the new body styles. They need to go bold...now is the time to do it. Proud owner of a '15 S.
How is the S holding up?
Pre-facelift looks better from outside and it is one of the best sounding modern sports cars out there...
No getting around that sound for sure

I had already come to the conclusion that there was not enough change and I prefer my 2015 R to the new ones. What I did like was the nose to nose and tail to tail comparison shots, great video guys!

Looks to me like they're almost identical on the inside. Theres a flatpanel vs analog instrunment panel. Its funny how the aviation community values the order of magnitude more expensive analog gauges over cheap flatscreens.
Thats a good point. However the technology is definitely better. However if the older model had a more well done analog set up built with nicer materials I would fully agree with what your saying

It depends what its for. Flatpanel touchscreens are seriously frowned upon in aircraft, although manufacturers drive that direction for the huge cost savings anyway. Getting bounced around and wearing fire retardant gloves makes flatpanel interfaces a nightmare. Plus they even harder to see than in cars. In general, flatpanels are viewed as an unwanted regression over analog by the pilot community, but the new generation doesn't understand analog so were going to the cheap tech, regardless. There are some advatages, obviously, like maps and imagery and layout. But for the main instrument panel of cars, displaying analog gauges with cheap panels is terribly inferior.

The older model is more classic, the newer one is more modern.. I prefer the older one but the update makes sense because it is getting outdated now after 7 years. Love the new grill and digital dash. The only downside for me is the new headlights, I wish they were little higher and bigger, I feel like they are too low and slim which makes them kinda awkward. I have the 2018 R and I didn’t like the square back to the new one. My favorite part about this car other than the exhaust is the rear end♥️. Great video guys! I’ll have to take my car to Boston through the tunnel lol👍🏻

The old one looks infinitely better, the new one looks like it's got Audi R8 influence, which is not a compliment.
The first time I looked at it, I was totally thinking R8. I am with you on that. I have seen a few pictures that have made the new design grow on me a bit. I am still full fledge fan of the first go around.
The old one just more aggressive, that’s what I love about , the new one just look like a cheap Austin Martin , also get that Ford Fusion front grill 😂
As Bmw guy here , it seems like everyone is going for a big fat 🐽 front grill these days 😂

Great comparison, really makes me feel better about my 2017 F Type with manual transmission. Note on the rear taillights, I love my (the old) design because they are supposed to be cat eyes & for sure the new ones look like robotic cat eyes. Who knew that?

I had the 2015 R. Watching resales to buy it again. First gen was the best looking.
😳.... I do agree though. Definitely has a bit of Audi in the front end design. Truly believe a used F-type is the best bang for the buck on the market right now.

Newer. I have a v6 s convertible 2014. I love it! The exhaust note, style and drive is its high point.

I agree Alex. I have thought the new one looks nice in some bolder or vibrant colors. It will take some time for it to grow on me though.
The new one for sure looks good. But you will not find many people liking the new design over the old one. The old one was based on nothing, it was original and unique. Exotic headlights.

It just shows how right Jaguar got the design 1st time around.. the main improvement is the instrument cluster. The 2015 is the best one to own from all angles, depreciation, rarity and looks.

Old lights suited the taut masculinity of the original. The new lights are more Audi, less organic, less sexy JAG.

I've got a '16 Mx-5/Miata, I think its headlights are better than those on the new F-Type. Yesterday I bought a '16 V6 manual transmission F-Type coupe, I should have it within two weeks. Never driven one, even sat in one.
I've owned two Jaguars, never owned a Jagwire though.
I'm currently drooling over a fully murdered out F-Type coupe 6 speed coupe, black on black on black. What I really want is a convertible but that coupe exudes menace. Not as fast as a V8 but I don't want an automatic car, good as they are.
Jagwires have more power.

I own a 2015 f-r and love it, the new nose just looks like a vette and a few other brands.
2015 R is the best one that was made hands down

Those front side grill vents are functional on the 2015. Especially when you upgrade the stock intakes.
the previous one for me. I don't like the new lighthouse and the front air intakes of the new one I don't like either.
Like most cars that come out. The new one has grown on me. I have now seen in person multiple times and truly like it in darker colors. Originally I was not a fan.
Finally somebody, who says that the old one was better looking...and if I compare the new R with the old SVR...sorry, I'd still go with the SVR what has an additional cool looking spoiler. The nose of the new one is like it has been stolen from audi :( and for this pricetag wouldn't buy an audish car, however I'm a big audi fan.

Certainly, the old car had a character that you could identify as Jaguar at a glance, the new car looks boring from the front and wreaks of many other modern days sports cars. To me, the FType has now lost it class and individuality. 👎

The changes were perhaps just for the sake of change. The older type headlights are far better. The new letter box lights just don't do it, the bonnet now has to drop down to fill the space.
The big loss is the 6 cylinder engine.
I know Joe Biden has damager the image of Aviator sunglasses, however lets be real, the windows open on that car so you can throw those awful glasses onto the verge. The F Type needs Aviators. You may have guessed I have both. Good comparison and conclusion, thanks.
Do you guys think the 2021 R exhaust is as loud with pops crackles compared to older models ? Already submitted a build for 2021 so I’m at it’s mercy
You will love it. I think the newer ones are refined in all regards including sound. Still good stuff though. What color did you go with?
Can y’all do a comparison for the Jaguar F-Type SVR 2017 and the 2019 or 2020 I feel like there’s a difference in the exhaust system thanks! Love the comparison hated they dropped the SVR but they might revision it

Nope, the old FType is far prettier and identifiable as a Jag. I'm gona be biased as I own a 2014 car but I just prefur the headlights and look of the original motor. You simply can't take one beautiful design and hack it about without bastardizing it !!!! 🤔

I like the New F type R but they don’t sound as nice as the 2015 model and it kind a looks like an Audi imo. unless they can make the 2020 sound better aswell as look meaner. I’m going with the 2015
