- In part 1, you saw that Nessie broke down on us... again 😭 Luckily we found a gorgeous wee wigwam where we could spend the night 😍. Since Nessie broke down on Sunday, we had to wait until Monday morning to get someone out to help us. We had to take Nessie to the closest garage and they had to take her in for a few days. They were able to give us another van though- Fiona 😂. Once that was all done and we had packed all our stuff into the new van we made our way to our airbnb for the night and where we'd meet Balou 🥰

We’re Dean & Nala, and we’ve been best friends since December 2018. I was actually cycling around the world when I heard Nala meowing out for me somewhere in the Bosnian mountains. With no intentions of keeping Nala, I knew i had to save the wee kitten and take her to the vet - but I was well aware of the fact that it might be a bit of a challenge considering I only had a bike. However, despite my concerns, Nala quickly climbed out of the front bag on the bike handle and straight onto my shoulder. Since then, we’ve been travelling the world together. NESSIE is better than the bike though - especially in the cold weather! Safer for Dean and Nala as well!!
Agreed, much safer for them although it’s probably 50 years old, not sure it’s going to last long 🤔
@@snakychip For me it is much too old for a journey across Europe and especially northern africa. And the heating system in Nessie broke down too, right? I really hope that oldtimer will survive.
@@HelenaRG71 yes, it seems to break down a lot, would feel better if they had a newer van but they are expensive. Just want the best for Dean and Nala.
Yes, I agree. Some of those places where Dean spent the night were horrible! Under old bridges etc. Yikes!
@@snakychip They're expensive, (I presume!), but worth it, esp if you're going to live in one for some time.
The old air cooled ones are so noisy & rattley. And give off smelly exhaust. Not my thing.
The new ones are water cooled, more efficient, & environmentally friendly.
That encounter with Balou brought tears to my eyes. Isn't it the most wonderful thing to rescue animals and give them a better life?

Oh, no!!!!! Ghost passed? I watch all the videos but I didn't hear about that!! Poor doggy, he had a hard beginning and when presumably he could enjoy a decent life.....

It's always such a joy to see rescued animals doing so well, happy and healthy and able to enjoy their lives. Your tag, "adopt don't shop" is a good one. Best to find a pup or kitty that needs a home. Loved Nala's closing slap of the camera at the end, lol! 😸❤️

As for the VW. My first car was a VW Beetle. Several friends recommended the book "An Idiot's Guide to Volkswagen Maintenance" to me. That book was my "Bible" for working on that car and understanding the operation of it. Highly recommend you get yourself a copy.

I am so awed by the fact that Nala can get so comfortable to any surroundings! All new to her yet she settles right on in immediately! I would say that's because her Dad is with her and by her side allways! Her trust of you n love for you is immaculate! She is just like a human child. Totally trusting n depending on their parent. They are fine where they go or who they are around as long as if mama or papa (in your case) is near by! Nala is turly of God a gift given to the right person! It was no accident that you found Nala! I believe that dogs always remember the person who saved them! At least that happened with our dog and she was a puppy (2 and a half months) when she was found in the street by my friend. So happy to se her again!🐾❣️💕

Poor Nessie ! Fiona certainly didn't have the same 'creature comforts' but glad Dean was able to find her to continue their trek! Nice to see Balou is doing well, like Nala a very happy rescue success story! Went to the pet store for food today & five cats were vying for my attention hoping to get adopted 🥺. Breaks my heart, but with four now just can't afford anymore at the moment 😕. Just don't understand how people are allowed to breed cats & dogs when thousands have to be put down each year because they can't find homes for them 😖. Best wishes to our host & all (especially those with rescued family members 😉)!

I’m with you on the safety aspect as the world is getting worse and I really fear for Dean and Nala by all means if Dean had a motor home and his bike for when he is wanting to visit the towns they would be safer but it’s not us doing the trip I just hope they are always safe
