  • The 2024 Toyota Yaris Cross is currently Toyota's most affordable hybrid vehicle in the Philippines. At its price of 1,598,000 though, it's priced a little too close to the bigger corolla cross hybrid. In this video, we'll do a walk around of the Yaris Cross HEV

    I really like how they have kept many of the same features across the range for this model, seeing things like wireless charger, rear ac vents, rear usb, electronic parking brake, same number of airbags, same size infotainment screen, on the base variant as well as on the top variant is a nice touch from toyota and great for the consumer.

    Actually V variant has blind spot sensor as well, and you forgot to mention that the lift gate has a sensor as well to open it without pressing the button, you can open and close the lift gate by just running your foot underneath the rear skid plate. Also V variant also have a cordless phone charger, rain sensor, adaptive cruise control and so many safety features. Can't beat this yaris cross

      @icynrvna I guess instant torque is one benefit. Would also operate on its optimal rpm which is more efficient especially on stop and go traffic. I'd rather just wait batteries matching fuel tanks with their energy density, batteries today are too heavy.

    I disagree on the weight of the steering wheel, for an EPS this is stiff but not like hydraulics found on popular diesel SUVs.
    Also, the noise and vibration of the engine gets through the cabin when it starts to charge. Imagine your normal ICE car revving at 4-5k RPM on neutral.

    • @jaywalkur
      @jaywalkur  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi I didn't say that the steering was heavy, just heavier than expected. Definitely not as heavy as large diesel SUVs but a bit heavier than a lot of crossovers of a similar size.
      When the battery level gets low. the engine does idle higher than normal for a faster charge. It didn't feel like 4-5k rpm to me. More like 1500 rpm. (there's no tachometer so I can't tell exactly) but it does settle down quickly when the battery gets sufficiently charged.

    • @bertvelo5714
      @bertvelo5714 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jaywalkur Yes, heavier than expected - since it is an EPS. I thought the test drive unit front tires are deflated at the time, but my observation was also confirmed by one of the marshals during the test drive event.

      When computing combined horsepower of a hybrid system, you simply add the horsepower of the ICE + electric motor.
      The Yaris Cross ICE is tuned for 90hp, while the electric motor delivers 79 horsepower, for a combined power output of around 169 system net horsepower. (It is always less than the sum of both power plants because of the way both power systems interact)
      Hope this helps.

  • @zimben8

    Sorry but it does not have 235 Tires and the Hybrid version 1.5 has les power bc it's in Atkinson sycle, meaning its more efficient but with the EV motor it has a total much stronger then the non Hybrid 1.5. The electric Roof shade is ONE Touch open or close. Maybe u should look for another job if u make a video for YT but know the car u reviewing. Waste of time to watch u.
