I picked up a low mileage 2017 Luxury trim in May of 2020. Sooooo pleased with it. The 3.3L is the only way to go IMO. Try using shiftronic in sport mode. OMG the power! This thing can literally turn on a dime. Amazing! A spaceous comfortable ride with tons of extra features. Our favourite feature is the hands free (and foot free) power liftgate. What an awesome machine.

Just picked up the same recently with around 70,000 km on it in the Storm Blue colour. Very much like it and getting decent mileage as well

Enjoyed the video. Just a slight correction the new generation Santa Fe (2 and 3 row) was released in 2013 not 2014 like you stated in the beginning. Glad to see Hyundai kept the 3.3L 6 cylinder and didn't cave into only offering a 4 banger. Great review!

Great review. Very subjective. We bought the 2016 XL after testing a Pathfinder, Highlander and Pilot, and couldn't be happier with the Hyundai.

Thank goodness for this review. I was considering the 2019 santa fe xl because it was the only 3 row suv that fits my budget..I feel much better about making a decision now.

Agree with some of the comments here.. Bought a limited ultimate awd (USA) couple months ago after doing my research. Overall I am very happy with the purchase. Those 300 horses definitely don't make it feel like an upped station wagon. Only thing I didn't agree with was your review of handling.. I found it to handle exceptionally well specially around curves.

Really sharp looker for a 2.5 ton 7 seater. The 5000 lb towing capacity comes in handy even though I don't see many of these with tow hooks. Fine ute indeed.

I bought a 2012 Honda pilot with 50000km on it and traded it in for a 2017 santa fe xl after 1 month. The VCM was jerky and bogged on the highway at cruising speed, airbag trouble light was coming on periodically and for nearly $30000 was not worth the money! The Santa fe drives smoother, has 40 more hp! with
.3 liters less engine more safety features that actually work, all for only $8100 more. Should mention it's an ex rental with 22000km on it. Lots of em out there in BC right now, saved over $8000 from new. Don't let the ex rental thing scare you either, it's not crazy kids driving these things. Ours was in almost immaculate shape. I recommend Maple Ridge Hyundai, they gave me best deal on the pilot, was even almost $100 more than we paid for it including tax!

I really like seeing an adult get in the third row this for me is a selling point. If an adult can fit in the back that's what's going to tip the scales for me on whether or not I buy it period mainly due to the fact that I keep my vehicles and extensively long time period I don't want to have to change my vehicle in the next 10 years because my kids have outgrown the backseat.

This is the size vehicle I'm looking @ as my next car. Not sure whether to go higher scale such as the Lexus Rx. Am also thinking of the Ford Edge Sport. Maybe the Lincoln version of the Edge (not crazy about the front end styling though). This may be too low end for what I'm looking for.

I strongly believe unlike other turbo 4 mazda's real world EPA would be better. Coleman specifically mentioned that firing the launch event of the new cx9. To improve the real world fuel economy they have added cooled EGR system to the engine.

Great review. Any idea why Mazda ranks so poorly on the JD Power IQS? I watched your review of the CX-9, but that study raises some warning signs in my mind. I generally keep my vehicles for 10 years, or so.

    • @Apotheotika
      @Apotheotika 6 ปีที่แล้ว

The biggest issue (and not solely for the CX-9) is that heavier footed drivers (and even the lighter ones) absolutely WILL blow up the turbo at some point in the first couple years. It's a great engine, but that turbo has been a nuisance for a while. Water pumps tend to not last long, either.

I really like what they've done with the Santa Fe for 2017, my parents have a 2014 Limited and they love it, although I do wish they'd offer the 19" black rims they offer on the sport in the States in Canada, really cool looking.

Great review, waiting for your review of the remodeled 2017 GMC Acadia Denali. I have looked at the competition, and have driven this new remodeled vehicle, and for me, that car has shot up to the top amongst its competitors (Pilot, Highlander, Pathfinder, CX9, Explorer). I test drove the CX9 and agree that I would be wary of purchasing a mid sized SUV with a turbo 4. I also test drive the new XC90 which is gorgeous, but again, I am not thrilled at a Turbo 4 and the real world MPG as well as durability of that engine pushing a heavy SUV. The efficiency of the turbo gets lost in everyday driving. I had a Saab 95 Aero Wagon and while it was fun to drive, the efficiency was not there.

Hey Zak, just my humble opinion, but I think it looks quite tacky to have all caps on standout things for each car review like "NEW LOOK AND TECH" for this Santa Fe. A much cleaner approach would be just having "2017 _________ ________ Review" It looks like a desperation for views like those cheap used car ads online that say "NO CREDIT/BAD CREDIT FINANCING" in the title. It just looks unkept. But that's just what I think.

Subaru needs to come out with an all-new Tribeka and wipe the floor with all these wannabe's.
I'll still take the refreshed Nissan Pathfinder with 7000 pounds towing, better fuel economy, and a backseat which is tops in class in actually transporting adults.

CVT is where it's at... Nissan, Honda, and Subaru have each all pretty much perfected it by now, and let's not cry about "shift points". A smooth automatic that always stays in the sweet-spot of where you want it, AND better fuel economy, AND much fewer parts!!
I'm waiting for the next "ten-speed" automatic to fall out of the car at highway speeds... LOL
