    • @smpstech
      @smpstech 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I'm thinking either the float is sticking or not liking the vibration, or it just flat out can't feed enough fuel at WOT. Before I sent it off, the float kept sticking on me and when I took the needle and seat out to inspect it, I noticed the orifice in the seat that the fuel actually flows through was only about .050". Couple that with a gravity feed fuel system that only has a capacity of about 1/3 gallon and is 2 inches above the carb, there isn't a real strong flow of fuel.

    This is great! On the conclusions, I would say that we might not be seeing a more powerful 1/2 in impact intentionally for reliability concerns. They don't want a mechanical point of failure, so there's a safety margin on the drive system. Sure, that impact can handle a few ~1000 ft-lb runs, but can it do it every day for several years?

      Agree, and how much half inch power do we need that we cant get from the 3/4" XGT with a 1/2" adapter. I keep the 1/2" adapter on mine whenever its in its box, just in case. Got the XGT midtorque and compact as well, not likely that the 3/4" to 1/2" adapter will ever be used for actual work but at least its always nearby the big guy.

    Not sure if this was mentioned already in the comments probably was since there’s 2,300 of them but I’m going to say it anyway. I think there is plenty more potential for this setup with modifying the motors power out put, if you just tweak the centrifugal clutch springs you can make it so the engine rpm stays in the power the entire time. What appears to be happening is with little load the engine has enough power to build rpm to power band but once load is increased it drops out of power band. By putting heavy clutch springs in it will allow the engine to reach power band before any load is put on the engine giving you much better results.

    Good stuff. California is such a large population,nmarket and economy, it has been well demonstrated it can swing its Big D energy around and kickstart fairly big paradigm shifts when the tech is frankly there but the industries are slacking. The market size usually support solid revenue and profit despite the bump in initial product development cost.
    We've phased out all our petrol mowers exept one (it's size closer to a frickin combine than a regular mower) that does huuuge fields all day every day - and gotta say the electric / battery ones are awesome. The torque, climb and speed of those things is wild. And because they're damn near silent, hours can be much more flexible without the noise vs time of day/night being an issue. Especially favorable for mowing heavily used public parks right up against urban residences. Oh and not needing the ear protection anymore... Sooo frickin nice on the really hot days.
