    I like this printer although it is not perfect. Way better than my first 3d printer SeeMeCNC Rostock Max V2. Precise, quiet, easy to setup, won't waste material, quick to start print. So far so good.

      Prusa

      Better than creator max 2 for 949?

    • @3dpprofessor
      @3dpprofessor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Prusa has a bigger build volume and bed leveling. The Creator Max 2 has the cleanest multimaterial I've ever seen. They both have excellent print quality, but the Prusa is a bed slinger, and the Max 2 is a core XY system, meaning when things get tall and thin, the Prusa will fail, and the Creator Max 2 will excel. If you can stand to sacrifice the build volume, the max 2 is, in my opinion, the better machine.

    I just recieved my artillery genius for christmas, and I spent hours trying to fix the slicer mentioned in the manuel, and it turns out the configuration step on the usb doesnt work. I suffered fan issues for an extreme 48 hours, then discovered Cura. Thank you for this, as I didnt know I was the only person having these issues.

    For PETG sticking issues, try to clean the bed with iso alchool, scrub it well and remove the yellow gunk covering the bed. After some prints with PLA and some cleaning cleaning on my genius and X1 PETG sticks well (temp 85 or 90). I got even better results with babystepping with a custom marlin firmware: if I switch temp from PLA (60) to PETG (90) I don't have to touch the knobs to level.

    I fully approve of them, not including sample filament, it is usually rubbish and not of sufficient quantity to complete the test prints that are usually on the SD card, I think the novice will benefit more from using anything but a bundled few metres of filament, there is a lot to be said for newbies first print, and anything that improves the experience has to be a good thing

  • @orangecrocks
    @orangecrocks 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    There is a test print on the usb stick. It’s the artillery cube. I just bought this in November

    • @orangecrocks
      @orangecrocks 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also be very careful with petg on that bed without glue stick as a release agent it can and will remove a chuck of that glass bed. I found that out the hard way. To be fair a replacement bed is only about $30 or you can get a magnetic for around the same price

    • @orangecrocks
      @orangecrocks 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To be fair this this is a great printer for the money, it’s one of three printers that I have . I also have access to both prusa and makerbot at work. it’s really a good printer for the money I cannot emphasize that more. That spare nozzle would not have worked as the artillery uses a volcano hotend not a mk8

    • @orangecrocks
      @orangecrocks 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As for cold temperatures you must be in an area below 60 degrees as I have the printers in a basement room in Massachusetts where is currently 15 degrees outside and ambient in the basement is 61 and it’s totally fine and no issues at all. I’d be curious to see what others have found as my Sovol which sits directly next to the genius and the Mk3 are also fine

    • @3dpprofessor
      @3dpprofessor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, there was no test print on mine. My test USB stick just had some software on it.

    A lot of people are getting into the fystec/trianglelab mk3s clone now. Its under 400$ and spending around 50$ more on an all metal heatbreak/proper bearings/extra needed 3D pieces makes it a super good prusa clone for under 500$, you could make a video about the product pre and post upgrades, as it's prolly the best all around < 500$ printer rn :)

    Inductive trigger range does drift with temperature. Check Design Prototype Make channel - he made one of the first research in that topic.

    The bed adhesion sticker is actually extremely cheap to manufacture. If one were to research the material that it is made of you can find 4'x8' sheets of it for less that $20.

    Great video!
    I got this (my first 3D printer) about 2 months ago and like you, I've been very happy with the results I'm getting out of this.
    I was relieved to see that I wasn't the only one facing bed adhesion issues with PETG. I had to play around with it for a week before figuring out that it just would not stick to the glass bed. Now I use blue painters tape and sometimes glue on top of that and haven't had any major issues since.

      @@3dpprofessor but is the Artillery Genius worth 40$ more than the ender 3 v2?? If so, I'd go for that one. Or maybe there are other good printers in that category. I would mostly print in TPU
