    Love Harry Metcalfe's reviews. Always insightful. Always easy on the ear coupled with a wonderful laid back delivery. It's always all about the car with Harry. Not the ego.

    I agree with you in almost everything you said, but you also said "when it comes to V12s you can not beat a Lamborghini". I think in terms of engineering Ferrari is a step ahead. The F12 Berlinetta is an example for that. But you're right: The sound is a bit artificial...

      as we all learned, sportcars don't attract women, they attract tennager boys and men und supercars are attracting just much more of them and a few women. Girls just don't know enough about cars i guess.

    10 years later the Aventador is still the most awesome supercar. And 20 years from now the Aventador will be remembered as the last great supercar because everything after this will have boring electric asistance / all electric motors.

    You know what I love about this guy and EVO in general; he doesn't sit there and bitch and moan like so many other people do. He sees the car for what it is, not for what it isn't. He doesn't whine about anything. He doesn't drone on about being torn, he either finds the lovable soul in each car, or he doesn't. Simple. But even if he doesn't, he still respects the car, he doesn't hate. Being rich couldn't have happened to a better auto enthusiast. I'd love for him to have his own show on TV.

    I went to Fox Valley Motorcars today because I had to see the Lamborghini Aventador in person. It is out of this world. I am very impressed.It sounds like a fire breathing dragon. When I started it chills went up my spine. If you were not expecting the sound, It would scare you to death. It was NASA quick. You just think it and you were there. 1.6 G's.... I felt them today. I can hardly wait to get it out on the track.

    it does, just not on the streets. if you're not an experienced driver on track. you wont feel a 9hp difference. a 9hp advantage on track adds up to about .1 secs per lap. which is the difference between pole position and starting on the 4th row. but im not arguing with your argument, as they say on topgear - 691hp which is 700 by topgear standards

  • @stekhouse

    @imTRANCEecs this lamborghini is completely designed and assembled in italy there's nothing more to say. it's born in italy all the components are designed by italian engineers.
    to answer your question i think the honda and toyotas made in us are japanese because they are created in japan all their components are designed there.

    @UrbanNinja27 Of course you tell me I'm wrong. It was designed by Filippo Perini who is Italian. The Lamborghini Diablo, Murciélago and Gallardo were designed by Luc Donckerwolke who is Belgian. It's actually the Audi Group that owns Lamborghini. VW is the parent company.

Looks amazing, was actually driving by it then saw it and immediately had to park and get a closer look. haha :) is definately one of the most amazing cars ive seen and ive seen a lot of expensive supercars bugatti, Koenigsegg, Ferraris, other lambos including reventon, zonda and many more. And the aventador was one of my faves.

    When he changes gears it's epic

  • @AmygdalaSalad
    @AmygdalaSalad 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @wonderbreadkw basically its a way of changing gears sequentially, so when you change gears it's 1-2-3-4-5 and so on, you cannot "block change" (eg. change straight from gear 5 to gear 2) like you can with a conventional H pattern gear box. The right paddle behind the steering wheel changed the gears up, and the left one changes gears down. I can explain in greater detail if you need?

    @Buttnut105 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @FoxhoundJay Also, the 911 is smaller, lighter, and not nearly as wide so it's much easier to drive and park; it has historically proven reliability; it has a manual gearbox and ceramic brake option (GTR has neither); the interior quality is second to none; it's available as a convertible and in RWD or AWD; etc. And as far as less performance, I'll concede but it would still keep the GTR in sight on a winding road.

  • @doc7000
    @doc7000 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think its pretty amazing that with this car they have produce a car that is lighter then the car it replaces, maintains the AWD, and yet produces more power then before. 3,475 pounds is an impressive weight given the huge engine and big power, remove the AWD and you may shave off some 200 pounds.

    theres a key... he said that it was in the glove box. its just not a key like the your thinking. you keep it in your pocket or wherever and the car detects it and if its within a certain proximity of the car the motor will start

  • @s2mikey
    @s2mikey 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    You are mistaken. Lotus has a wild history and their impact on F1 is epic. You can Google it. Also, Lotus cars have always been specialty cars but very fun and exotic nonetheless. The Esprit is a classic sports car that isnt cheap at all. The early ones were rough for sure but they got it right with later models. Who cares what Top Gear says? Thats a fun show but dont take it too seriously.

  • @49fiori
    @49fiori 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Punjabi192 that's crazy what you are saying 15 years ago Ferrari was making 3.0L V10 naturally aspirated engine for F1 and the engine had 750hp. I am saying 3.5L V10 with 550 would be an amazing an unbeatable car.

  • @JayJayAbels
    @JayJayAbels 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    This IS the best super sports car in the world. It has everything... a complete package. It's not overkill with the top speed... although it definitely has that... but Lambo's are notorious for their unwieldy handling. Not quite so much as the Vipers but Lambo's could never hold a candle to Ferrari in that dept. This, Aventador, changes that quite dramatically. And it looks better then ANY other supercar - IMO - on the market. It's just dramatic, futuristic, sexy yet angry - all bottled up!

  • @radomiriz

    @Janusha General statements here lol. Corvette like the Z06 or ZR1 have handbuilt engine and have very deep quality tests before the came out of the factory. I don't care if a Lambo, Porsche or Ferrari have a better plastic, full carbon part or even a "better technology" because at the end of line it DOESN'T make the car faster, more reliable and even more beautifull. I repeat, 300-400k for a Ferrari doesn't make the car better in general than a Corvette, Viper, Ford GT or a 911.

    @christo11aa22bb The wheel instead of being connected straight to the suspension strut like in most cars, is connected to rods which "push" onto the suspension dampers like on a F1 car. It gives better suspension geometry for better handling but at the same time is complicated to design and get the placement of the dampers within the car's body right. It also reduces the "unsprung" weight of the car as the dampers are now part of car's body rather than the wheel and axles, gives better ride...

    @Janusha A little bit of teaching here. Some Ferrari and Lambo use GM electromagnetic ride (Corvette C5) and Getrag transmission simple techno in a way to make their car more reliable and sporty. And do you know what it's funny about that? What is funny is that Italians don't have any clue about that. They still think, that magnetic ride was a Lambo thing. They paid GM to use and modified them ;)

    @superford500 agree on the looks and on looking behind :) , but the practical part I was talking about is that with mirrors mounted on doors aventador style give you a little more "window real estate" compared to murcielago/diablo ones. @bigphat200 thats your opinion.
    Why are you faulting the natural progression of racing technology that is being applied, to, a street legal race car?
    Why are ALL Super and Hyper cars utilize some sort of electronically shifted transmission? Maybe because ALL of those manufacturers actually BUILD their cars to race, and one of the race rules mandate a certain amount of cars be homologated for road use.
