what i always liked about this guy was the fact that he knows what lamborghinis are about. outright speed and crazy style. he knows the brands main emphasis is on the engine and nothing but the engine... they have their flaws... but it seduces you, you don't care about its faults because it does what it was built to do better than anything else out there
This is pure power
1. It's the best car in the world according to that person.
2. It's a brilliant piece of engineering, and you can't argue with that for a second.
3. It sounds brilliant.
4. I can bet any money that you haven't driven either of the cars mentioned, so you don't know how either feels to drive.
5. Why can't people enjoy more than one car at the same time? I mean, I love the Zonda Cinque, but I'm not going to argue that it's the best car in the world all the time, because I'm not that small minded.
Wish I bought the recent winning powerball ticket in California. I would love to own one of these and give away a few at the same time

I am glad you guys fixed the audio of this review. ( even tough the soundtrack of the v12 was outstanding )
Good for you! I've heard them on numerous occasions and I am sticking with my opinion! I wasn't talking about driving on a track when I talked about drivability, what I am saying is, is that the 4WD system enables people to use their car not just when it's dry and sunny. The first time I drove a 458 Italia was on very wet roads in northern Italy, and I kept loosing traction. In the Aventador with its 4WD, such surfaces are no problem at all.
Did Lamborghini bring a RHD Aventador roadster to the Miami release just for the journalists who live in countries where RHD is predominant?

it's the ultimate batmobile. Not a fan of roadsters, but i admit, this one looks great.
Miami is where Lamborghini opted to officially launch the roadster. Naturally, since there would be several potential buyers and journalists from varying locations around the world, they would have brought both left and right hand drive variants :)

i agree, with a single clutch the gear change is so much more dramatic and it's nice to feel a kick at the back of your head in a supercar

I quite like the idea of the company using a single clutch transmission, the greater feedback you get in upshifts (through a jerk) gives the car a more mechanical feel.
That wasn't your argument. You said this car was literally an Audi, not that it used Audi tech. What specifically about this car makes it an Audi?

yeh I agree Steve. Supercars are meant to be outrageous and downright ridiculous. And Lamborghini always manages this (at least with their flagship cars)

You're probably right though nothing compares to the feel you get from the manual gearbox,but that's just me.I've driven both dual and single clutch transmission and they're fast through change upshift or downshift faster than a really good manual change,but the feel you get from the stick (especially when you go down 2 or maybe 3 gears) is something that no DCT can compare but then again that's just my opinion.
Honestly, 458, mp 4-12c spyders are great, but one thing I hated about the murc and the aventador spyders is the fact that a lot of people have their forehead sticking out of the top for some reason.
I love twin clutches, and have one in my daily driver. But in a car like this it actually sounds a lot cooler with a single clutch and the longer gap between gears. If you listen to a modern Ferrari with twin clutch it doesn't sound as dramatic because it changes too quickly. On a track it is the better transmission no doubt, but this isn't a track car. The shift times are still plenty fast enought for almost anyone and faster than a manual.
If Robocop had a new weekend car...this would be it.. looks so mean! Definitely a "get out of my way" machine
Everyone wants to know subjective opinion of the test driver. Its just that even the show presenters want to stress the real magnitude of music the engine produces. :) Though I agree, the situation is a bit problematic !

Lamborghini's single clutch deisgn, i think is what keeps it an animal.
the rapid dual clutch is nice, and smooth but it will not feel like a lamborghini.
the roadsters and convertables. have to have a ridged chassis base on no structure in the roof. which reduces the flex in the frame. if your smooth on the rpm's it drives nice.
but when you drive the car fast it will tear you apart. just remember your driving bull. not a magic carpet. I want a car to scare.

I said that the person you responded to thought so, not you. The gearbox adds to the character to the car. The four wheel drive adds to the drivability of the car (to add to that, you still don't know what's it's like to drive). I have driven both the 458 Spider and the Italia and I've gone for a ride in a Lamborghini Aventador, so I know that the Aventador sounds better. I even have a video of when me and my friend took his Aventador for a spin.. With that said, I am looking in to buying a 458.

You shouldn't try to convince me, you should try to convince yourself.
Though I love convertibles...this car, I would get only the hardtop version. The lines are uninterrupted and the rigidity is a plus in hardtop version.
I think the only real criticism of this car, which is also voiced here, is the fact that the Aventador hasn't got a dual clutch. So... what's the chances of the Aventador having a dual clutch in future?

I hope Lambo keeps single clutch. Single Clutches give a car that brutal feel unlike dual clutches kind of make a car feel more childish in comparison.

You'd have even more crisp engine carachteristics if it was tested in Europe on proper high octane gasoline, not on US 92 "Premium" in a RHD European spec car.
