how long can you hold up on the analog and then press square to activate super counter. And do I have to let go of up on the analog if I fail the input and reinput it to try again or can I hold up and press square again. Or do I have to push up on the analog stick in sort of conjunction with square the video said it doesn’t have to be at the exact same time but does it have to be around that time.
@@Drodz1030 I recommend going for the old-fashioned method of pressing up+punch at the same time instead of holding the analog stick but yes, you would have to let go of the analog stick (probably) & reinput it.
Hi, can you confirm if it's possible to do a super counter during a long vanish war or not(not using Trunks)? I think I did it a couple of times in training and ranked, but I never managed to do it again after the first patch. Unfortunately I didn't record. I also cannot find a clip to confirm that it's doable.

Side note about the sidestep bait to super counters: If you are the defending player, you can get around it by holding guard while you do that, as guarding takes priority over attacking if it has been held. You can also do it from the front to defend against mixups ki-blast/strike mixups, but ofc doing this forgoes using perception and makes it more difficult to defend vanish attacks and throws.

Ik this isn't a counter question but can someone explain why when I try to do a combo and finish with a special move my character just keeps trying to punch still? I remember the older games u could just go from mashing right into a special move but it's almost like this game is just ignoring my input and going "nah bro I want to punch him more"
Interesting. Great knowedge, wish they would adopt the timing windows of For Honor (literally an indicator to help you time parries) so we could see. With enough visual confirmation, I am sure a lot of players could become more consistent. Since I use headphones, the audio cues are what I use because I can time my input with the sounds of hits on me unguarded or for Sway the sounds on my guard. Thats worked tremendously well but now I feel truly enlightened, there were some situations I felt like I definitely countered. I did not even know about the small lockout but always assumed there had to be one. Or felt that way for me at least, most of my opponents counter me at will -_-
For part 1, would it not be that the hit box isn't active until later in the animation? Rather than it being a spacing issue fixed by the hitbox finally reaching behind the character model to the hurtbox. Anyway, great vid! Good tips on varying timing of attacks and doing resets

Every super counter guide i’ve seen they practice the timing on charge smash attacks, what about the basic rush attack combo? Timing Broly and Giants specifically.

Probably stupid question but, is the direction for super counter always up? Or do I have to point towards the opponent? (So say if my opponent is hitting me from the left, do I still do the super counter input with the direction being up? Or do I have to do it to the left?)
show the timing in slow motion is not enough, I need to see it in normal speed to more feel the timing, especially because when I get a combo is so fast that I can't see the first hit so It would help a lot that you tell me when hold the stick and the attack button in normal speed and several times with several characters
People are exaggerating how hard super counters are. For people experiencing lag, yeah they have to fix the servers fs, but 4 frames isn’t anything remotely crazy for fighting games. A lot of fighting games have 1 frame inputs. I actually think they should make it have to be 1 frame more accurate each time you do it in a row so the pros don’t get into these drawn out counter battles, and it wouldn’t effect new players either. Edit: wait it’s 2 frames? I heard it’s 4 and it feels like 4 to me because I usually really struggle with 2 frame inputs 😭
It doesn't make any sense for the hurt box "behind" your character model. That's impossible because this is a 3D game, and you can be hit from any side. What is more likely is that the hurt box doesn't register that the attack connects until after the super counter window ends. That would normally look terrible, but two frames are very difficult to notice in practice. This explains why their hit box can intersect with your hurt box for a couple of frames. I really hate how, over decades of making fighting games, the devopers still refuse to simply explain how this stuff really works in the game. Why do we need to count frames and guess?
@@TAJIG most ppl cant reliably use it during vanish war cause thats the only difficult way to use it, but its easy to use for escaping combos because you can literally mash it 5 times per second which is rlly easy on keyboard for example

It happens, just make sure your hitting your trigger b4 you hit your attack button
Also for me personally I changed my monitor refresh rate down to 60fps, idk if that is just a me thing but i could counter way more consistently

I see what they make Ki Blast really effective in this game. It's the perfect strategy and it racks up damage. Charged Ki blasts too.

How does the timing compare Vs a vanish? Would the super counter need to be triggered later or earlier than you would a vanish?
