Great video, Paul! Beautiful shots and so well put together.
@@evolutionaryTom Thank you Tom! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and appreciate your comments.
Nice production. Moving sand around on a barrier island reminds me of the Greek myth of Sisyphus.
How much should we spend battling nature? Is it better to continue funding dredging projects or accept the changing landscape and adapt? What do you think?
Yes, i have been there mother nature wins!

Hi Paul. I enjoyed your video, but in the context of Sand Dollar island, it's a little misleading. Your footage of manatees isn't from Tigertail, where they used to search for food. The truck sppedway you do show used to be a summer nesting site for threatened species. This area NEVER had any inundation until Humiston & Moore convinced Hideaway Beach that a giant sand importation could "protect" half a dozen houses. why not build a proper rir-rap system in front of the houses. But no, HB money and arrogance destroyed a healthy mangrove system and a Critical Wildlife Area. HB keeps drinking the Kool Aid! At this point, pack up the the excavators, leave it alone, the beach will endure for a few years yet without H&M making millions.
