No judgement here! I love watching you and hearing your excitement! I’ve never been a beach person- kinda intimidated by the ocean! I’ve always been- was born - an inlander!! I will be making my first trip to Florida this coming spring!! I’ve been to the ocean before- California, Virginia- but, was never happy to be there! I know other inlanders who do love the beach!! So, I think seeing you out going through all those beautiful shells has warmed me a little to the beach! I felt very compassionate towards the tiny critters that lived in all those shells that are now empty😢! Thank you for your videos!! You do whatever helps you and comforts you!! Never mind all those negative folks! We’ll pray for them!!❤❤

Exactly..I‘m German and we would NEVER find anything this beautiful on our beaches, even if I would not live inland. I had a serious work place accident 12 years back, and sadly have not had either health or money to travel since. I stumbled upon your videos because I took the mussels from the 12th birthday of a Ukrainian refugee in my apartment block to clean up and make jewelry and demo . Never, ever feel ashamed of feeling joy in dire circumstances. That‘s the mark of a survivor! All the best to you down in Florida
Thank you for your kind response about shelling after a storm. Even though you don’t have to explain yourself at all. One page in particular said “you’re not welcomed here, we hate tourists” My heart broke because I know for me, shelling is therapy. We just got back from Marco yesterday afternoon and we found some beauties🩷🩷. Thank you for your amazing channel on here. Never miss an episode 😍
Yeah, the haters are going to hate and spread their negativity. I don't understand why people choose being mean over being kind 🤷♀️ Tourists are welcome on my beaches! I know how much joy and wonderment I experience out there. Everyone should be so lucky to experience that just once. 🙏🏼❤️

Don’t listen to negative people, they only embarrass themselves. I’d like to know how much garbage each one of those naysayers have picked up too! You are a treasure.
Thank you so very much for coming with me to the beach all these years. I can't believe it will be 5 years in January I've been making these weekly videos. I've learned so much - and there is still so much more to learn!
So envious. As a young girl in the 60’s we used to get up before sunlight with our grandma take a bucket and a flashlight and head to the beach for treasures here in Oregon. Great memories and i have many glass floats of hers of all sizes. She had apple boxes full of her treasures. 🥰
I watch your shelling videos every Sunday night. Watching them gives me as much pleasure as the shelling gives you. While my heart goes out to all who suffer the wrath of bad weather, it comes with the territory. We get blizzards and an occasional rare tornado, but we enjoy having 4 lovely seasons. Keep on shelling because it's therapeutic for you and all of us who look forward to your videos!! Greetings from southern Wisconsin!!
We have a big box of Marco Island shells in the basement collected, likely, in the 40's or 50's by my hub's aunties when they were young. We inherited these when they died. I have had fun IDing them. Most were the same you were finding here, similar sizes. I think collectors have depleted the variety and size of shells through the years. Milton has replenished the stash from far into the gulf!

I live in Upstate South Carolina and Helene was pretty devastating to us (but not as bad as North Carolina). I wish I could do what you do and go to the beach every day. Consider yourself blessed and keep doing what you do so people like me can live vicariously through you. Thanks!
I for sure thought you would be out there looking for your junonia. I think your response to the people questioning you was perfect. You have as much right as everyone else to decompress from the stressful events of the last couple of weeks. Glad you were blessed with one of your bucket list finds.
I heard a lot of people found junonias down there - it just wasn't my day. I did go out 2 more times after the storm and was rewarded handsomely! I'll share those videos the next 2 Sundays.
Thank you for the videos. You're helping me through my cancer journey. My wish is to come back to the area in June 2025 with my best friend. I hope my health holds.
I was in Dunedin this past week. We ventured into Clearwater Beach, the destruction was overwhelming, our hearts just went out to the businesses and residents. We traveled to the north end of CWB and there was a ton of pen shells there as well. I was lucky enough to find some beautiful shells and sand dollars. It was a dream for me to be there and to be able to collect my special prizes.
I remember my brain having trouble understanding what I was seeing after Ian hit here, so I can only imagine. It's so heartbreaking seeing so much destruction. However, I'm glad you were able to make it to the beach. It's truly amazing to see what is left behind after these storms.
Wow! All my favorites (that I watch YOU find....😂) right in one pile! I hope your heart and spirit were comforted by being at the beach and thank you for sharing.
So glad you got out of your house and did what you love!! That was INSANE!! That is like HEAVEN except for the erosion. Thank you for taking me a long! Have a great week and see you Sunday. XOXO
Goodness, Sharmon! That's a whole lot of gorgeous shells! I agree that if you are not interfering with recovery effort or harming anyone, you should be free to enjoy something that lifts up your spirits. We needed now more than ever. I'm from the west and I plan on a trip to Florida soon. Hopefully, my tourist money will help with the local economy.
We have had a couple of devastating storms here in Northern Mexico. Gilbert caused major destruction, and then we had Alex in 2010. We went through Albert in June of this year, very first storm of the season and it hit us directly. The days after a storm are a mix of emotions. Joy for making it out ok, sadness for the devastation and those who lost far more than you did, tediousness and boredom at being without power and nothing to do, except clean up, and amazement at how resilient people can be. I’m glad you are taking advantage of the situation by finding all these great shells!!! You do you, and haters should mind their own business. I look forward to your videos each week, I’m nowhere near a beach and your videos are like a 30-minute vacation!
Agreed - the haters should mind their own business but I think they like the drama. And to be honest it still feels a little weird to be out there after such a big storm but staying home isn't helping a thing. I was actually up like an hour earlier than I needed to be as I just couldn't sleep. The beach was exactly what I needed. Thank you very much for watching!
Thank you for this video! I live in Jeffreys Bay in South Africa, and your videos make the impact of the hurricanes real, rather than just a couple of seconds on the news. Your videos are like a ray of sunshine in very difficult and sad post hurricane circumstances, and I think just help to "normalize" perspective a bit. Happy shelling!
I enjoy your videos every week, so glad to know you’re ok after hurricane Milton, one day I hope to go shelling in your area, for now I’ll live vicariously through your videos, thank you for sharing your passion for shelling with us 😀
Thank you for sharing your thoughtful opinion, Sharmon. Every bit of it. Life is too short to not do things you absolutely love when you absolutely need to do them. Find joy, spread joy, help others in their joy. You help me find joy by proxy every single week while I am landlocked and pining away for some salt air. Thank you for being you and doing exactly what you are doing. 🐚
❤ Glad you are okay and really nice that you got to the beach and relax with fellow shelling friends. 😊 Anyone gripping needs to know how shelling can be so helpful for people to relax and destress after a storm that we WORRY AND STRESS over for days. Thank you for doing what you do and taking us with you!!❤
Same😊 This is the only good thing I can see coming from Hurricanes. I live on the coast of NC and the only beach around me that ever has shell's and sharks teeth is Onslow Beach on Camp Lejeune 😢 Unfortunately bullet shell's are also common there as well. I just don't understand why Top Sail, Surf City, or Emerald Isle never have all these treasures 😭 Myrtle Beach has someone that drives around with a cart that scoops up the shell's 😮
I think shelling after a storm like Milton is a great idea provided you aren’t in the way of clean up. It is calming, a way to soothe your nerves after such a stressing situation. Everyone needs to take little mental breaks during such difficult times. To give you a chance to breathe, to give yourself a chance to settle out some. It can be so helpful to take a few hours for yourself. To take a break from being so overwhelmed. So long as you aren’t in the way of clean up, or hurting anyone, there is only good to be had in giving yourself a little grace, a few hours of finding a bit of enjoyment.
@ - My pleasure. I lived in St. Pete for years. Then my significant other dragged me away to Pennsylvania...... so your videos have helped me tremendously....
I’m sorry that you’re getting negative comments about shelling after the hurricane. I live in New Jersey and I live just a couple miles from the beach and survived through Sandy. It was therapeutic to go to the beach and walk the beach and see things recovering. it was heartbreaking to see the loss, but as things started to recover, it was therapeutic to see the recovery . And your help taking garbage off the beach you’re taking garbage off the beach enjoy yourself
Sandy was a monster! I lived in NJ for that and we didn't have power for 5 days. I hope you didn't get too much damage. I was really affected by Katrina and we evacuated for Ian 2 years ago. This was the first time I was able to see the beach so soon after a very big storm. It's truly mind boggling how powerful the ocean is.
I still cannot believe you left that huge West Coast Olive on the beach I was shocked lol but you found some terrific shells and that albino shell is awesome.
So sad for the loss of so many Penn she’ll animals and others but that’s nature, she gives and she takes away. Glad you got your albino FC and some seriously lovely shells. Hugs and stay safe xx
What a beautiful video. Thank you for sharing... even in the middle of hardship. AND you made us all a little smarter and calmer for watching this. This type of content nourishes my brain. Also, having lived in and around Pensacola 50+ years.. I have NEVER seen anything like this. What a treat! Best regards from the panhandle ❤
I’m always impressed by your enthusiasm, during your videos. I love the beach, and your videos allow me to enjoy the beach, even though, I’m no longer able to travel. Thank you, for all your videos, Sharmon. I hope your home is ok. I’m so sorry Florida keeps getting hit by serious storms. I can’t imagine the stress, and the worry, that you’ve suffered, over and over again! My prayers have been with you. ❤️
We just booked our yearly Florida trip and this January we are headed to Marco Island for my first time! Shelling is my favorite thing to do when we go to Florida ❤
Your Albino Conch is awesome. You never know with storm shelling but looks like a lot of people found wonderful shells. Thanks for the wonderful trip to the beach.
Well I am back to pointing at shells I wanted to have you pick up! LOL! We used to enjoy using a net and going into the water to the little ledge and scooping up the shells from that area! I am one who after walking a bit loves to sit down and skim through the shells that were washed up! Thank you for sharing your videos, it takes me back to my childhood memories!
I am blessed with a great family and yes I do have some wonderful childhood memories!! The beach is in my blood and I really miss it. Thank you for sharing your videos!
Thank You! Your kindness and excitement is well appreciated and confirms attraction to your channel, and all the awesome things you do for your community and all the beaches you bring us to. 😊
Such a wonderful day!!! So amazing, and yes I agree it sometimes is a huge mix of emotions after a storm.. sad for the critter and people with loss but very fun and should enjoy .. we cannot help and cannot change what has been lost, only pray for others and thank God for keeping us safe
I'm so glad you were able to get out and have some fun after all of the stress! There's nothing wrong with allowing yourself to decompress after a stressful time in your life. I would have loved to have been there with you!
I understand the ambivalence. Loving shells but saddened that a critter had to die. But then again, they probably became fodder for another critter. Staying home after a storm, doesn't change how others got affected by the storm. You are allowed to do, what makes you happy. And your videos bring joy and happiness here in my little home in Denmark. I look so much forward to Sunday/Monday night, when your video releases, it is the height of the week. ❤❤🎉🎉
Thank you so much for the kind words. I don't know why I feel compelled to tell people that of course I feel bad for those affected by the storm, but that isn't going to keep me home if I can help it. Thank you so much for watching all the way from Denmark!!! 🙏🏼
You’re projecting the beauty after a storm. Stay “jovial,” as this will always be relative to your selfless nature. Take in a deep breath of positivity and celebrate your authenticity. ❤️❤️🦔🤠
Listening to the waves and seeing all the shells makes me smile and relaxes me. I’ll be back in FL soon and can’t wait to walk the beaches. I agree that as long as you’re not in any workers way, there should be no reason not to be able to walk the beach. Thanks for a fun video!
Sadness turns to anger and is then expressed by lashing out at others. I'm glad you were able to get out to show us what happens to the beaches after big storms. It is so sad to see Florida hit by storm after storm and they are getting stronger, later and fiercer as climate continues to change. Take care and let the negativity roll off your back.
You hit the nail on the head about being "jealous"! The difference is my beach is gone/closed and I so miss it!!! Since the toll booths and electric were wiped out, it's taking a long time to reopen. I'm hoping it happens soon! This shelling adventure was awesome to see! Thanks, Sharmon! xxoo
When I really searched my feelings, that is what I experienced. I wish I had been able to go out and go shelling after Ian but I couldn't do it. I wasn't ready for over a month. I think your beach is waiting for you! I've heard the beaches up there really took a beating. Ours did too but the critters didn't give a hoot. They kept doing their thing and the shelling was great all winter. I hope your beach opens soon!!!
What a beautiful shelling experience! ❤after the storm rainbows and seashells!...obviously other stuff...less enjoyable. Really appreciate you sharing your finds. Glad you're ok and it will be a long recovery in that area. 🙏 wish i was there to get some shells! One of my favorite things to do when i was growing up and my mom took me to Florida to visit my relatives. Hunting for swa shells 🐚 still love doing that. Nature's art sculptures love em if I could have walls in an Earthship of seashells absolutely would!!!! Love em.
I love shell finding.. The devastation in Florida was horrific with all the tornadoes & hurricanes.. New to your page very glad to hear you didn’t have much damage this time. I can only imagine how therapeutic it must be to get out of the house & find joy on your morning outing.
Waiting for a hurricane is so stressful and being without power isn't fun, so being on the beach th is morning was just what I needed. Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏼
So happy you had such wonderful finds! The shells on the beach are gifts just waiting to be found! Wish I could find just a tiny fraction of the treasures you do. Prayers to those who have lost so much in the storms. And I say "Just keep on shelling!" You spread joy with your videos! Thank you!
I love that you added the part about kayaking. I would love to see how you travel in a kayak with your gear & shells. What do you do to keep your kayak from being stolen or floating away ! As a wannabe tourist, I have scoured the internet to figure out how to get to Sanibel Island, but everything that I've found, getting to the island looked really expensive. To know that there are other good places to find shells on islands. Thanks for the virtual escape from reality!
You can drive to Sanibel, so no need to get a boat or kayak! Just find the beach (Bowman's, Lighthouse Beach) and follow GPS. The marina down in the 10K islands that we used to be able to kayak from was destroyed in Hurricane Ian. I think there may be a few parking spots, but it sounds like the city is really discouraging anyone but locals from using that marina.
Thanks to you picking up trash, I too have started picking up trash. I have also got my older son picking up trash. We went to Bathtub beach on Thursday, and found a lot of whole scallops. We were going to snorkel but the water was cold. So we just walked along the beach.
It’s called joy for life! The Lord did not intend for us to be miserable and unhappy. He expects us to do the best and most we can with what we have to work with. Most people work and feel their best when they can mix in things they enjoy doing with what they have to do. I personally am glad to see you getting to enjoy the beach and the fact that Milton wasn’t as bad as predicted! That’s a win in my book.
I figured you'd snag up that lawn chair to add to your total of trash removal. Lol! And wow I've never seen that many pen shells! It really is amazing how many little sea creatures there are in the big blue waters.
When you've been through so much devastation, doing something that lifts your spirit is most helpful to your wellbeing.
Well said!

I was so happy to be out there after the storm! 🙏🏼
So glad you got out of your house and did what you love!! That was INSANE!! That is like HEAVEN except for the erosion. Thank you for taking me a long! Have a great week and see you Sunday. XOXO
It will be interesting to see how the beach looks at low tide. And I suspect I won't be getting around that jetty for a long time!
@@SWFBeachLife I hope something happens and the sand comes back. I don't really understand all of that. I guess storms?
@@jolynnburns4306 Winter NW winds help bring shells and sand up in the beach. I’ll take either!
Me and all the businesses hope you come and spend your money here!!! And there are plenty of shells to go around!
What a compliment! Thank you so much for watching. I am fascinated with the area I live and all the things that can be found on the beach.
I would go crazy with all these shells. Went to Sanibel once and LOVED all the shells we picked up.
I am so lucky to live in Southwest Florida!!
I enjoy your videos every week, so glad to know you’re ok after hurricane Milton, one day I hope to go shelling in your area, for now I’ll live vicariously through your videos, thank you for sharing your passion for shelling with us 😀
I'm so glad you enjoy my videos! I'm always hoping I can inspire someone to get out there and try shelling themselves!
Thank you for YOUR kind words. I love knowing I'm surrounded by like-minded people 🥰
❤ Glad you are okay and really nice that you got to the beach and relax with fellow shelling friends. 😊 Anyone gripping needs to know how shelling can be so helpful for people to relax and destress after a storm that we WORRY AND STRESS over for days. Thank you for doing what you do and taking us with you!!❤
It really does help to get out and find some peace, even after a big storm!
I would faint if I saw this many shells available.
Same here. lol. Faint right onto a shell pile. Wake up and starts shelling
Yep. I don't think I would get too far
Horse Conks❤❤❤❤❤
Same😊 This is the only good thing I can see coming from Hurricanes. I live on the coast of NC and the only beach around me that ever has shell's and sharks teeth is Onslow Beach on Camp Lejeune 😢 Unfortunately bullet shell's are also common there as well. I just don't understand why Top Sail, Surf City, or Emerald Isle never have all these treasures 😭 Myrtle Beach has someone that drives around with a cart that scoops up the shell's 😮
🤣
I think shelling after a storm like Milton is a great idea provided you aren’t in the way of clean up. It is calming, a way to soothe your nerves after such a stressing situation. Everyone needs to take little mental breaks during such difficult times. To give you a chance to breathe, to give yourself a chance to settle out some. It can be so helpful to take a few hours for yourself. To take a break from being so overwhelmed. So long as you aren’t in the way of clean up, or hurting anyone, there is only good to be had in giving yourself a little grace, a few hours of finding a bit of enjoyment.
I think everyone could use a little bit of that kind of peace.
This video calms my soul. Thanks so much...❤❤❤
Thanks for watching and for the love!
@ - My pleasure. I lived in St. Pete for years. Then my significant other dragged me away to Pennsylvania...... so your videos have helped me tremendously....
Finding the beauty in difficult situations is what makes these kinds of situations bearable. Thank you for the video.
Thank you for the kind comment! 🙏🏼
Thank you for sharing your heart, I love that you are able to give yourself some normalcy after those nasty storms.
It was really nice to be able to do something I love after all that stress 🙏🏼
👀👀👀 Whoa!!!! So overwhelming just to see what you been through. Glad you are safe.
It was definitely a wild few days - glad you're happy to see that everything is okay.
Glad you're ok. Wonderful shelling.
Thanks so much, I appreciate it!
Oh my goodness!!! I absolutely love shells too! It’s so satisfying walking on the beach and getting shells at the same time….
It really is the best, isn't it? 😍
Love the shells. Glad you are ok ! This should be a break for all of you. Don’t worry about what anyone says. 😊
I still cannot believe you left that huge West Coast Olive on the beach I was shocked lol but you found some terrific shells and that albino shell is awesome.
I was so happy to FINALLY find an albino fighting conch!
So sad for the loss of so many Penn she’ll animals and others but that’s nature, she gives and she takes away. Glad you got your albino FC and some seriously lovely shells. Hugs and stay safe xx
I hope the new time worked a little better for you!!! ❤️
Clocks went back an hour so got you at 2100 which is lovely. Thank you xx
Thank you so much for watching. It was an experience I'll never forget!
My prayers
have been with you. ❤️
We were lucky with this round of storms and our home didn't get any damage 🙏🏼 I think all the prayers helped!
Congratulations on finally finding an albino Florida fighting conch!! I’m so happy for you!! ❤️❤️
Thank you so much! I was so excited!
Oh my word! Only few minutes into video and my mouth is dropped open .. I’m gitty for you and just a little jelly 😮all those piles so amazing ❤❤
I can’t wait to see what treasures you found! I watched a video from Florida Beach Walks. The amount of Pen shells was insane.
It really was an amazing find. I had never seen so many in one spot.
I saw that too, I’ve never seen so many in one place!!!
I just knew there would be lots of shells and they are beautiful ❤️
What jackpot day! Fun find! 1 of the best vids I’ve seen. Thank you for sharing your outing! ❤❤
I just found my first Wentaltrap on South Padre Island Texas. It was by accident. I was recording my son collecting tiny augers.. and there it was !
AMAZING!!! It's it so great when your eyes settle on it and you realize what you're looking at? I hope the rest of your day was perfect 😃
Oh my, all those shells. I am sorry for what you all went through. I would love to be shell hunting
The Lightning Welk at the 9:19 mark, along with the albino Florida Fighting Conch were beautiful! Thank you for taking us along!😊
Wooowwwww😮😮😮
It sounds like you have some great memories!
I am blessed with a great family and yes I do have some wonderful childhood memories!! The beach is in my blood and I really miss it. Thank you for sharing your videos!
Absolutely gorgeous albino shell
AMEN!!!! Thank you for saying what you said about storms and shelling 🐚 Beautifully stated.
Thank you SO MUCH R! Believe me shell sista, I got your back should you need it! ❤️🐚

Thank You! Your kindness and excitement is well appreciated and confirms attraction to your channel, and all the awesome things you do for your community and all the beaches you bring us to. 😊
I'm glad you enjoy my videos! I'm always trying to bring some sunshine to the internet. 😊
Such a wonderful day!!! So amazing, and yes I agree it sometimes is a huge mix of emotions after a storm.. sad for the critter and people with loss but very fun and should enjoy .. we cannot help and cannot change what has been lost, only pray for others and thank God for keeping us safe
Yes, it is a bit surreal to be excited about shells after a storm, but we can't help but be grateful for the beauty they bring! 💖
I'm so glad you were able to get out and have some fun after all of the stress! There's nothing wrong with allowing yourself to decompress after a stressful time in your life. I would have loved to have been there with you!
I have watched several of your videos and enjoy them very much. Thank you for sharing! 👍👍😃😃🙏🙏💙💙
Thank you so much for watching!
Beautiful shells...
Thank you beach friend!!! 🥰🥰🥰
@@SWFBeachLife ❤️
The long Bleeeeeep was too funny 😂
😉
Listening to the waves and seeing all the shells makes me smile and relaxes me. I’ll be back in FL soon and can’t wait to walk the beaches. I agree that as long as you’re not in any workers way, there should be no reason not to be able to walk the beach. Thanks for a fun video!
I hope you find lots of souvenirs when you are here!
I appreciate you watching and for taking the time to share your thoughts!
Thank you for taking us along. I loved it! I do every week! 😊🥰
So glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing 🙌🏾😍😍😍
Some people just like to control others. MYOB!! Thank you for sharing at this difficult time.
Love em.
The shelling is amazing after a storm! I hope you get to go back to Florida soon! 🙏
Thank you!
OMG YOU HIT THE MOTHER LOAD IM IN AAAWWW LOVING THIS VIDEO SHARMON THANK YOU SO MUCH❤❤❤😊😊😊
I love that you added the part about kayaking.
Thanks for sharing your beach walk. I go with you every week and enjoy it very much. Its really unbelievable about all the pen shells.
Congrats on your albino FFC!!! I found one on Kice that weekend as well. They are incredibly beautiful IRL!
I see people find them all the time. By now I should have like 10! I'm glad you found one too. I hope I can score another one in the future!
You’ve had a great day when your fingers are wrinkled from being wet! Congratulations on finding your albino fighting conch!
Wrinkly fingers = pure beach joy! 🌴🌊🐚❤️
Thanks to you picking up trash, I too have started picking up trash. I have also got my older son picking up trash. We went to Bathtub beach on Thursday, and found a lot of whole scallops. We were going to snorkel but the water was cold. So we just walked along the beach.
I love that you're helping to keep the beaches clean! Sounds like a fun day on Bathtub Beach!
❤ you make me laugh. Bless you!
Thanks for going shelling 🐚 and saving the little friends.
Thanks for a great video. I knew it would be good….and so relaxing
Thank you for watching!!!
Great video, very exciting to see all the beautiful shells. 🐚
Not getting any flooding was a HUGE win! We were all so stressed out.
I figured you'd snag up that lawn chair to add to your total of trash removal. Lol! And wow I've never seen that many pen shells! It really is amazing how many little sea creatures there are in the big blue waters.
LOL - if only I could have dragged that chair back to my car....
I had never seen so many pen shells either. It really was quite an experience.
