A short video about Sappy one of Nirvana's greatest songs and the guitars Kurt used to play them! #NirvanaGuitars #cobainmustang #cobainjaguar #loungeact
The Sound City version of Sappy is in fact available. It hasn't been officially released, tho, but it leaked back in 2015, if I remember correctly, which was the year that a bunch of Nirvana leaks happened: Fecal Matter, never before heard Outtakes from Sound City, rough mixes or Nevermind, etc.
5:00 the Nevermind Sessions/Sound City Studios version of "Sappy" Kurt could of used either the Mosrite Gospel Mark IV or his First ever Strat the White MIJ Fender "K Records" Stratocaster... Which were both stolen during this period.. the Mosrite Gospel was stolen from the band van as they were unloading and Kurts Olympic White Fender Japan "K" Stratocaster was stolen the day after they finished recording Nevermind when Nirvana played at Jabberjaw Los Angeles CA to help out Mikey Dees, who's Band Fitz of Depression show was gonna be cancelled... So sometime on May 29, 1991 at Jabberjaw, Los Angeles, CA the K Records Japanese Stratocaster was stolen, which was Kurt's favorite Stratocaster which he used from October 21, 1990 to May 29, 1991. (And Fender Japan Tune-O-Matic Strat, was The Original Fender Japan Stratocaster, until the Neck was smashed off when they recorded "Endless, Nameless" which wasn't seen again until August 15, 1991 at The Roxy, North Hollywood, CA which by this time the Angled Black Humbucker (as it was from March - May, 1991) the Black Humbucker was now straight, the Original Fender Japan Stratocaster Bridge was replaced with a Gibson Style Tune-O-Matic Bridge and Stop Tailpiece, and had a Custom Made Neck which had a Blank Headstock and The Headstock was alot thicker than an Original Fender Stratocaster Neck, but when Nirvana started their Nevermind North American Tour on September 20, 1991 It had a New Fender Japan Stratocaster Replacement Neck.
In my opinion, the In Utero (Albini) version, is the best. It had this climax vibe. While the 1991 Sound City version had more mellow vibe, especially on Kurt's vocal.
Yes, The Sound City Studios "Nevermind Sessions" version of Sappy was Leaked and is Available but It gets Blocked Instantly on TH-cam, I've Tried to Upload this Version several times and It gets Blocked all the time... its mainly recorded with at least 2 Overdub guitars clean through out the song only Distortion on the solo, but also Kurt probably had the Distortion between 11 'o Clock to 1 'o Clock on his DS-1 Distortion Instead of having the Distortion Knob turned all the way up....
Also the title "In His Hands" for "Verse Chorus Verse" it's a bootleg title, I'm pretty sure there is no actual proof that it was at one point the working title for that song.
Yeah we got many questionable titles from those just like "autopilot" or "on the mountain" for "you know you're right" and "the eagle has landed" for tourretts.
@@markhampton8686 Very likely that the title they used for tourette's that night was a joke title and not to be taken as the real title It's is clear they thought it on the spot just to mess around with bootleggers
You know, the more I listen to the one released in the later versions of In Utero, the more it sounds like the guitar being used is the aluminum guitar. I have noticed that, for some reason, my 50s style Telecaster with EMGs sounds a lot like the aluminum guitar. That's why I pay a lot of attention to it.
@@loungeact1212 Oh yeah, I added the EMGs in part out of spite. I mean, they sound amazing when playing clean stuff, but something that 50s with something that 80s is just blasphemy. It's hilarious. I already got a lot of flak when I installed a six-saddle bridge.
I think the In utero Sappy is my favorite, the Albini production really makes it feel great to me. It should of made the album imo, tourettes is a fun little song but Sappy would of been better

2015 was full of Nirvana leaks
My favorite live version of sappy was the one where kurt fell over and played the solo while he was on the ground.
what a solo

7:56 60s Hagström necks are glorious
3:50 5 songs were demos for songs on nevermind - if you count pay to play as stay away!

@loungeact6311 the eagle has landed title for tourettes came from I believe Dave saying its called that at reading in 92

Yes obvious choice for me over Touretts, not bad but I would probably rank that one the lowest. Lol
Sappy would have fit in perfectly between Tourette’s & All Apologies
Wow, i can't believe that Kurt thought Sappy sucks. I love even the shittiest versions.
