Why do you think Turkey shot down that Russian plane? After that incident the Russians haven’t dared to violate Turkeys airspace. Why do you think Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania joined NATO out of their own free will? Being part of that alliance is what’s keeping the Russians from invading them.
Sweden and Finland are sovereign nations which make their own sovereign decisions to join or not to join any alliance they choose to. They don't owe Russia anything and neither does Russia have any right to tell what alliance Sweden and Finland can join or not. Displaying menacing military threats to them like Russia did only encourage these long time neutral countries to rethink how best to defend their sovereign rights.

US and Poland are both NATO members. Sweden is not but, as a sovereign nation, it can choose who it allows to use it's airspace. It chooses not to allow Russia.

@@WildPrimate Nukes give off something called radiation, which is easily detectable by the Swedish Jets that intercepted the Russia jets. That and you have to be fairly close to a jet to intercept it, not very hard to look at the planes armament.
