This TV ad campaign informed viewers of a new feature of the nanny state apparatus. Now even the back streets were not a sanctuary from breath testing. Features a Holden Commodore VK series.
@@cavekritter1 Interesting thing was that mine was Carby but my mate had injected VK. We were sat side by side at that speed. Both autos so gearing was the same. It was 185 by the gauge. I'm assuming true speed was maybe between 5 and 10 below that?
@@96libertytt Maybe even less. But thats why the vl got a nissan skyline donk. Holden 6 was great in the 60s. Gained pollution garbage more and more thru 70s. By 80s it was that choked up it was pathetic. Also not very reliable. Doing a job it wasnt designed to do
@@cavekritter1 My younger brother had a manual VL turbo. I think it may have been a bt1 ex police car. Your right about the Nissan motors being a big improvement over the black motor out of my VK.
Problem is they’re not targeting the mentality that driving under the influence is in itself dangerous and instead the if you drink and drive we’ll catch ya, cause there’s always a chance that they don’t catch you, making it worth the risk
Miss them.Good old days, got caught for j.Walking as well. Nowadays the place don't give a poop. You also got your car defected. If you had a tail light out two they also chipped a car at the breath lies to make if it was road worthy.
I had a beige VK back in 1995. It would do 185km/hr and no more.
So you had a really good one then. The old 202 was crap by then with all the pollution gear...most wouldnt crack 160
