"practice, practice, practice" here we go, every traffic light :)
Dazzmond bye bye clutch
you should make a video about how to afford a 500hp AWD evo first so i can complete the first step.
Ko-wing wong LOOOOOOOL
+Ko-wing wong lol well played
hahahaaaaa so true.
+Ko-wing wong it aint hard man. the 4g63's are easy power. $3-5k can give you 400-500 easy.
buying a faster motor doesnt buy you an evo.
you are absolutely correct. grind in the clutch slowly and once it starts biting you let go of the clutch completely. that way you eliminate any bog down and you will save your transmission in the long run. cluch is a lot cheaper then a whole transmission
You know you're making power when you're spinning all 4 ....
Christian De Jesus or yuu forgot you still have winter tyres on 🤔
Ever heard of Group B
I can do that but that's because I have cheap tires lol. Michelin Pilot Super Sport make it easy.
Great video man. I'm happy that you went into drivetrain shock by slowly creeping forward. That is a step the majority of new drivers do not do. Because i drag, I recommend using the hand brake to keep the car from creeping and tripping the beams before you're ready and haven't had a chance to build boost. Then drop the brake right when you go hit the gas. And because you have the brake holding things tight you can disengage the clutch further so you're not slipping it.
As for launch control RPM, I've always done well setting it 1000-1500rpm higher than where you make peak torque.
"6000RPM, and you go BUP BUP BUP BUP BUP" ROFL
Nice launch man!
Are you Han from Tokyo Drift?
It's Han's son duh
Lolololol, "Han" shit had me crying
It is Han's son stop lying to your self lol.
+Otaku Nicca its not even racist, they really look alike haha
No he's ky-leoh ren
I started the video, listened to the intro, paused, cried, and enjoyed the rest of my day. I love that intro!
I see a lot of people putting hard racing clutches on their cars. our shop does not switch out the stock evo 9-10 clutch till over 400hp. the reason is, harder clutch transfer on the transmission. all that energy is going to have to be absorb somewhere, it better to burn a clutch then bust out a gear. think of the clutch as a barrier of protection.
digitalsaint2040 stock evo clutch literally has 3 maybe 4 proper launches in it before its slipping. first upgrade on evo should always be the clutch
XxAtomic646xX I can only say, I don't know what you call a launch, but my 07 -mr/CT9A mid 340hp didnt get a new clutch till 40k its has 60k now on a new stock. my 14-cz4a is just shy of 400hp on e85 with 20k milles it wont slip-out unless I fail to launch right. ive fucked up so bad that even a person next to me at the light said, bro you car smells like its on fire lol. abuse vs proper technique. if you car sounds like you ran over a parking curb your not launching it right. it should be a short roll out, followed by 1 or 2 seconds of clutch slip you should see all four bars on the center diff, if you only see three you didn't do It right(. then a 1-2 second short pull to 6500rpm. then throw up to second and once you foot is off the clutch, and on the gas you should be at 60. its not something that is easy, it took a lot of trial and error and some advice to get it right.
digitalsaint2040 proper launch of a evo requires slipping of the clutch and preload to reduce strain on the drive train. You always want to burn up your clutch rather than buy a new tcase. Stock clutches in evos, once slipped properly on launch, do not last very long at all.
XxAtomic646xX gahboabuooobaksoonakaaaa!!! swhat I said, the short roll out "pre-loads" so that the there is not gaps in the gears, but I am picking up what yoru putting down. its not uncommon to see a x low miles having clutch disk issues....but its mostly cause they drive it that way. lucky its not hard to change the clutches in the late models. I have never worked on let alone driven anything before an evo 8. ive always wanted and evo IV though. チームの皇帝 !!!!!!
digitalsaint2040
By harder clutch I hope you mean 'solid hub' clutches.
thanks. now I'm gonna go launch my mostly stock Evo X . then order a new clutch in the morning lol
W.. You can keep your ring.
you mean your Hyundai ten?
Fester Tingles explain how its a hyundai
Fester Tingles oh that's right its not a "real" evo because they changed the engine in the 10s. I guess that means all the new Corvettes, Mustangs and Camaros aren't real either. Seeing they changed the engines almost every generation. Thats the hypster logic at work there.
How many clutches have you gone through now?
I'll help you out a little bit. What you do to preload is drive forward slowly, while still moving pull the E-brake all the way up and before the car stops moving push the clutch in. Then do your launch control and go
I really enjoyed that! Just got my evo about 2 months ago and I've never launched AWD before, so I was curious as to what the best procedure was. thank you so much for this!
Love your videos man. Please keep making them! Love the car as well!
This was explained brilliantly, nice work
Your videos are awesome and your content is the best i have ever seen!! Keep it up man
Awesome tutorial. I will definitely take your tips into practice.
Had to subscribe a few seconds into the video just because you knew what you were talking about! Thumbs up!
Just love your car! No questions.
Excellent video bro make so much sense everything u said good to know for those with launch control
Thanks for this video been a sub for awhile never posted a comment. I've only launched my evo once because as you mention the stress it puts on the drivetrain , it was easy on my 240 but worried I might hurt my evo, really like these vlogs. Nice set up on your evo wish mine was like that. Keep doing a great job always enjoy watching your vids 😁
Jake R thanks! !!!
Awesome video! Great info here.
Just got my first evo and you just got a sub. Thank you.
Its about time i start leaving my comments on your vids man.... This is simply informative and awesome. I'm a huge fan of you man. For my first project i want it to be a Colt Evo. I never had a car as yet, but i just love em plus i'm a huge Mitsubishi fan. I'll always continue to watch your vids man. I'm looking forward to seeing more informative videos from you man. One thing i would love to see myself though is you on a race track handling the evo.
kibbie41 thanks! There are couple videos of me on the track from last year. But I plan on running more raves this year
Haha you make launching AWD look so easy.
I love all your vlogs and videos! Always looking forward to seeing your content. Keep up the awesome work!
thank you!
Anytime :D
that crab walk
Nice Evo man. Good vid
No transfer cases were hurt during the making of this video
Good video, I recall bogging my Evo a lot when I first bought it. Takes a bit more to launch my Evo X than the Mustang in the garage. A lot of my friends were also under the assumption you just dump the clutch and go. lol
Awesome vid bro 😃😃
Awseome job! Keep up the good work.
RESPECT
thank you sir!
At least this dude is honest, I've heard so many other people act like they know how to drive everything lol, good video man.
Ahhhh now i get it :D, thanks for the explanation!
Hell yea dope video👍👍
great video, thanks!
When I saw the video I thought Han from Tokyo drift is teaching some launching lessons. Damn I was close !
You got a sub on my end because I'm getting an Evo 8 and you look dedicated to cars
He looks like han from fast and furious
DanishGamerDK he doesn't to Asian people
I am asian and he is a little bit.
That is him bro.. the S2k is in the garage
Yeah, I think they're both Mexican.
What about using the handbrake to avoid the "creeping" like if you where at a dragstrip or racing someone and don't want to "cheat". That would have the same effect without destroying gearboxes and driveshafts right?
Perfect sound!)
The Bruce Lee of cars
I killed the replay button in the intro
thank you for sharing!
Good man 💯
Nice build looks sick
good vid man
Great video, very informative but I'd also like to add the utilization of the ebrake. The ebrake will preload the transmission thus reducing shock to drivetrain upon take off.
It just takes a while to get used to it then boom you gone 💨💯
Thx for the info bro
Set your camera up showing your feet!
Kaycee Brooks lmao
Marcos Ramos foot fetish
@@bofoclips422 damn thats uncalled for, but funny as hell 😂
In your dreams foot man
Had a GSX 20+ yrs ago. The launch was the best
God I miss my EVO, tephra is amazing. 2 tunes on the stock ECU and so much more....
lol i love that papapapapapapapapapa-ness
So with this method, do you still get a slight burnt clutch smell? I'm always paranoid with launching with the two step on the evo at autocross events. I always end up just doing a 3500 slip and roll off the line... Also is there a way to do a conservative launchs where you don't blast off the line but roll out fast without bogging down too much?
lol so nice video
I am watching this while sitting in one of these Lancer but is only 1.6 fwd 😂
I call u out bro..
Thumb up
good example 👍🚗💨
I love evos
Nice!)
I keep my tire psi harder then normal. Cause they stick so well as is. Then launch as hard as i can to use the tires kinda as a second clutch. If i am at a light, i don't really want to be "rolling forward". Works great for my WRX. Love smelling burnt rubber from a AWD car! Not so much when you are smelling clutch...
MY CLUTCHHHHH😂
Hey CZero. Was just wondering what you would recommend for a stock evo 8 (with a HD racing clutch) to setup to make launching less scary in terms of breaking stuff?
Thanks!
2:05 Mmmm, Lunch control!
Good video
Arigato Takuya Kimura san! Where's my bento!
how do you know when exactly to shift to 2nd?
Good video.
Han Seoul-Oh, is that you?
I've launched cars before but never turbo'd is it much different?
Its been so long and I finally found you
Slip the foot off the clutch at full revs, spank the gearbox and watch and smell the fun 👍
Really needed this for my 525hp r33 gtr
Hi CZeroMedia, does a 2013 evo x gsr have launch control?
I love evos DAMN
Hey.Hey. Few noob noob questions.
I bought new evo x final edition and never tried launching. I feel 1st gear is super short and im afraid to push it to red rpm.
what kind of clutch should i buy to have fun from time to time (lounching) but still to preserve my car in a long run. Can i damage anything else except the clutch?
thank god, please link this to every Subaru owner that dumps their clutch, so sick of seeing it!
Great video. Have you tried preloading the launch?
Dammit, I need to get an evo already
Well I learned something today
awd wheelspin!
What upgrades did you put in to make sure your car (parts) can launch like that repeatedly.
Like what parts exactly? drive shaft, clutch etc
hey can you give me a link or name of where you got the launch controller
Thumbs up for moto 360!
i said lunch not launch!
lol
You want to lunch your car? By a 5 speed wrx or sti 😁
hi,I have a VW GTI 2012 manual, you have any idea how to make a perfect launch with it??? thanks
First car I launched with the help of this video was a awd Nissan Gtir
how bruh thats an automatic
No gti-r's were automatic! Lol
You had to put up Otto-pilot's picture! XD
Tried using this technique on my 2015 Evo X GSR and it launched like a bat outta hell but also slipped at the top of first/going into second gear. I'm assuming I slipped the clutch a little too much and over heated it?
I watched the whole video even though I don't have an awd.
So does rev bashing in gear with clutch in burn the clutch or no?
Can I just hold the clutch slightly before the biting point? Would that be okay or do I need to push clutch to the floor?
your front bumper slightly coming off ;A;
love the sound your car makes though! lol
what do you think about a Celica GT4? I found a great one for quite a bit less. Great video!
Smart👍👍
Lunch control
i have an evo ix and its all stock i want to attempt to launch it but im really nervous about blowing something up, mainly because i have never done it before and its my daily driver any thoughts on what i should do? should i just not do it unless it isnt my daily
Looks like han an asian drive's a car that pull confirmed this is han my fav actor at fast and furious
But suppose you don't have launch control how does that play out?
NICE TIP ON HOW TO RED LIGHT.
