I have 2019 ss 1le and the pops and bangs are amazing. I’m averaging 12mpg because I can’t stop playing with it lol the front end looks better with the 1le front lip.
Jordan Kennedy my mpg is about the same. Took a 450 mile trip a while ago and pulled about 26 mpg once I got rolling on the interstate. What color did you get? I picked up a blue 1LE. Currently at the shop though... got rear ended in December and took forever to get new parts 😔
The front end is honestly not that bad... until you notice the small bowtie that doesn't fit with the rest of the grill. I think once that's solved it's a pretty nice looking car.

The biggest part that upsells the 10 speed to me is the fact that it is 100% true manual mode. When you are in 1st gear manual mode it will bounce of the rev limiter until you shift it (eventually if you abuse it sure it will shift). And when you shift gears it is instant shift changes. I have driven both of the new camaro's and am a die hard manual only, but the 10 speed is magical. If you hold gears when you want it can behave like a manual, but without the leg strain and when you want to shift at WOT it will rip through gears faster than I can push the clutch in. Also, if you push the pedal all the way down while driving you will activate performance shift control which holds your revs above 3-4000 rpm until you let off the accelerator for 30 or so seconds. It's odd to get used to, but is phenomenal to use when you want it.
I’m in a mustang/challenger pretty regularly... owned a corvette too... I immediately felt like I was in another corvette when I sat in the Camaro.. Those few inches go a long way
The 2020 SS is way better looking. But the 2019 is still growing on me. Also when I got my 2020 LT1 I instantly got katzkin seats. And I did a muffler delete on the dual exhaust, makes the car so much better sounding
I'll give sport mode a shot. I usually use either tour or track. Just bought a 2018 2ss 1le and it doesn't really pop. Just a few questions how many miles and which transmission do you have? Thanks
I have a '19 1SS A10 with a Borla axelback, since my car came without the NPP exhaust and yes, it crackles the same and sounds insane. The A10 is amazing and the car is a beast. Zero regrets.
Ive owned two 6 gen camaro SS's and two coyote GT's, auto and manual for each... The camaro has a sportier driver feel and better sound than the stang but the horrible visibility ruins it imo. I do like the convertible camaros though. The GT makes bigger power reliably and cheaper if straight line acceleration is the priority. If you're spending $50K, a low mile sightly used Vette is the way to go. Does everything better than the camaro and stang, if you can deal without having back seats and challenging entry/exit.
The mustang had a better interior but I do like what they did with the lighting and materials for the 2019 Camaro, it's definitely better than it was. Both the mustang and Camaro have good enough interiors considering the performance you get for the price.
Parker Carter I drive a 2017 SS and it sounds absolutely wicked with the crackles and pops especially when getting on a and entrance ramp to the freeway. He probably didn’t have the engine sound management set to track mode. That’s when the lt1 engine really sounds it best and give the good smiles per gallon factor 😎
a little trick for every Camaro owner out there, lower your back seats fully for more exhaust and crackles sound :), at the end you wanna hear what the people behind you are hearing XD.
Ask yourself tho,, is the xtra $20,000 worth it to only be able to go .5 0-60 faster then the SS?? 0-60 in 4 seconds is fast enough for me & its faster after a muffler delete, a tune & K&N filter with better tires! But hey what ever floats your boat!!

i think a lot of that extra exhaust crackling you hear on decel is from the different transmission/engine tuning relationship. Test a 2019 manual camaro ss and the decel will sounds different i'm sure.
my 2009 C6 Z51 Corvette 6Speed Manual NPP exhaust crackles and pops every time i Decel all day long sounds nice but i would expect it to only be more profound on a manual car
Riley, I appreciate the honesty with your comparison and I agree! However for me, the camaro has major visibility issues; that aside, it’s more enjoyable to drive than the mustang gt, imo. Though I agree the stang is more daily livable. The coyote is also easier to make bigger reliable straight line power than the LT1 if that’s your thing. Btw, I’ve owned a gen 6 ss and stang gt as well and currently own a a8 hellcat:)
@B N. You will ultimately need to drive both and decide for yourself as it is subjective... My opinion, crap visibility aside...the camaro has more low/mid punch, sharper handling, "sportier feel" and higher grip limit that the GT. Stock vs stock the camaro is more track ready and fun to drive imo. Straight line power potential goes to the coyote however as the LT1 has a lower power ceiling on stock bottom end.

I hate the new nose, but everything else new was cool. Power, handling, that pop, the mirror and the swipe screw in the entertainment center is faster than most. But that nose... and that big old emblem... horrible.
I own a black 2019 2SS Camaro and I got a lot of hate from people for the front end but I love it. Also got a muffler delete and trust me it sounds so good 😍🔥. People don’t wanna admit it but camaro is actually better than the Mustang. In almost every aspect 🙌🏻 the only thing I don’t like about it the fact that the seats don’t lean all the way back but everything besides that is perfect 💯
For 2020 they are revamping the front end so that the black bumper is the same color as the rest of the car. It's not great, but it's an improvement over the 2019. They also take the badge off the bumper and make it a flow tie badge on the grill between the headlights...as with the ZL1. They showcased this at the Detroit Auto show in January. This is a lot of car for the money but I prefer my 2018 ZL1. For me, it was worth $20,000 more but I can see getting the SS because sometimes the power of the ZL1 is overwhelming for the wheels and they slip. Either way, 650HP and 650 lb-ft is addicting. Also, the front end of the ZL1 is badass. It's the only Camaro where they left the front end alone...because they needed it to have as much air intake as possible. It already looked more badass and, now that they messed up the front end on the rest of the 2019 Camaros, it looks even more badass than the rest of them. Luckily, they listened to their customers and they're fixing it, somewhat, for 2020. These changes do not require them to change their tooling in the factory... just extra paint and moving the badge. As I'm writing this, I realize that they also did some extra LED lighting around the headlights for 2020...which looks cool. Mustang or Camaro, the rivalry between the two means that, whatever you choose, you're going to get a hell of a lot of performance for your money. I love this rivalry and I may get the 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang for my next toy. I'm not married to either brand, so whatever stirs my soul as I'm kicking tires.
Parkway Chevy is actually the closest Chevy dealership to me, I’m hoping to get a Camaro 2SS in the Riverside Blue metallic in ether the auto or manual I’ll need to test drive both but due to the traffic in Houston I think a auto might be a better choice As a daily driver. If I can figure out my finances to pay for college, Flight school, food, rent, insurance, and the financing on a new Camaro I would definitely buy one especially considering they’re being discontinued in 2024. Nothin like a Big V8

I think the Camaro's looks are best described by the word "Uninspiring". They're not bad. They just don't elicit any emotional response from me at all.
I own a Camaro, but have to admit, the Challenger looks better. The Mustang is a looker too, but after trying one, I opted for the Camaro. Ford needs to go to more displacement on the Mustang fr torque and reliability. The interior needs to be a little bigger too. All three are great looking cars. It all comes down to personal preference.
If you want performance and handling, 6th gen SS. If you want something that's just crazy get SRT 392. But get what you want. Take them on a test drive
Good review. I think the 10 speed works much better in the Mustang. Because of the Mustang's higher RPMs the 10 speed helps keep the RPMs within the sweet spot in the Mustang. The Camaro has more torque, so the 10 speed does not offer as much of an advantage.

The exhaust sounds so good because it’s an automatic lol I know you had the manual before and that’s probably why your getting more pops and crackles because you had to work for it a bit more on the manual but the auto loves to pop and crackle

According to the Camaro's computer, my 6 speed to SS. Gets 30 miles to gallon at 75 miles an hour.

Luckily, they listened to their customers and they're fixing it, somewhat, for 2020. These changes do not require them to change their tooling in the factory... just extra paint and moving the badge. As I'm writing this, I realize that they also did some extra LED lighting around the headlights for 2020...which looks cool. Mustang or Camaro, the rivalry between the two means that, whatever you choose, you're going to get a hell of a lot of performance for your money. I love this rivalry and I may get the 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang for my next toy. I'm not married to either brand, so whatever stirs my soul as I'm kicking tires.
Parkway Chevy is actually the closest Chevy dealership to me, I’m hoping to get a Camaro 2SS in the Riverside Blue metallic in ether the auto or manual I’ll need to test drive both but due to the traffic in Houston I think a auto might be a better choice As a daily driver. If I can figure out my finances to pay for college, Flight school, food, rent, insurance, and the financing on a new Camaro I would definitely buy one especially considering they’re being discontinued in 2024. Nothin like a Big V8

Check out 2018 SS tick. Challenger tick. They all do. We will see many more videos on Camaro since it is now direct injected just like Mustang. Whats causing piston slap is idiots modding their cars. The exhaust isn't different, it's just a different engine calibration for the 2019+ that gives it more cracks and burbles.
I think the Camaro's looks are best described by the word "Uninspiring". They're not bad. They just don't elicit any emotional response from me at all.

I own a Camaro, but have to admit, the Challenger looks better. The Mustang is a looker too, but after trying one, I opted for the Camaro. Ford needs to go to more displacement on the Mustang fr torque and reliability. The interior needs to be a little bigger too. All three are great looking cars. It all comes down to personal preference.

If you want performance and handling, 6th gen SS. If you want something that's just crazy get SRT 392. But get what you want. Take them on a test drive

Good review. I think the 10 speed works much better in the Mustang. Because of the Mustang's higher RPMs the 10 speed helps keep the RPMs within the sweet spot in the Mustang. The Camaro has more torque, so the 10 speed does not offer as much of an advantage.
