While there's likely no amicable resolution to the chosen behaviors hopefully dialog will happen in circles that gets some of the actors to think about how they've impacted Mike, the greater SOF community and to stop falling into the social media negativity trap. There's definitely a civil case with LEO to address their internal issues over the handling of multiple items associated with this occurence. Mike made a lot of mistakes, thats not an insult just an observation. I give thumbs up to a lot of guys like Andy Stumpf for putting out the message "get the facts then and only then judge", but I also think there are many learning points here, like don't talk to cops - let your lawyer do that. A big one that I haven't seen is "chose your partner very carefully" Not to dump on Mike, he's had a rough go, but guys learn from this, take your time and pick your partner very carefully. When I say take your time I mean YEARS, not months. Mike will get back on his feet, he'll be ok, eventually. lets learn from his experiences.

I had a crazy ex that I let hit me over and over. Never hit back but she called police saying I hit her. I took my shirt off to cops “I’m 6’ 215lbs and 5% body fat” I said if I hit her there would be a mark. I was raised better! She then admitted she hit me and I didn’t hit back. That was the last day I saw her. I told police I wanted her removed from my property and never seen again. Find yourself a good woman guys! They are rare! Find the girl that wants to sit by a fire with you and drink a beer. Just you two and enjoys trips to the range. Trouble is, the type of fracture they claimed does not show up on x-rays for about two weeks. Now, it has vanished altogether. It would be funny if the consequences were not so serious.
I was a Cop for 12 years. We would always wait for the alleged victim to be seen by a Doctor and then add whatever their findings were to our report. We would also get copies of the Doctors report to attach to our Police report.
Same here. Even if it was an obvious injury my report stated the facts as they were. “A possible fracture, awaiting medical confirmation.” Even if bone is protruding from the skin, that’s going to be my description.
i think many of the old school cops have vanished, either from disillusionment, fatalaties or retirement or simply fed up, gone are the instincts passed on from experienced members to rookies, & too many going into the ranks are disappointingly under-trained, under-manned, overworked & simply no longer supported by their city/command structure. Praise the Lord for this news. As a former SOF medic who is a former convicted felon ( I found a Rescued not Arrested Bible in county ) I can tell you the law is nothing to be messed with. I saw Mikes video the other day and he says he focusing on his faith. We can be the most bad ass operators but if we lose our souls what do we gain ? Man...this might turn into a defamation case against those that attempted to completely burry him. Its really hard to say though. He may just walk away from all of it and not let the mess take up another minute of his life. The bummer is for the kids and his family in general. To include their mom, his ex. I’ve been through a similar situation when I was in the army. The woman is almost always usually believed over the man and assumed to be innocent. In my case SHE was the aggressor, and even though the police reports stated that I was still the one hit with more restrictions on the protection order than her. She even started sleeping with the police officer that was in charge of the investigation before it had all gone through the court system. People are always way too quick to judge and assume things. I wish Mike the best, I know exactly how it feels.

OPD arrested a retired resident(no crimes, prior cases) for drugs. 📂 It turned out the meth, drug residue was 🍩 crumbs. This innocent man had his life 📉. Orlando PD blamed Safariland but that went nowhere.

Our system is so wrong. I was arrested for domestic violence when I was the one hurt. Yes I was found innocent but the initial arrest (no reason) and lawyer plus court costs were insane. When found innocent you should get AT LEAST your money back. Damn shame

I’ve been in this type of situation. You quickly realize who your friends are and in some cases, that the court system is biased against men. It was a costly endeavor for me to defend myself. The worst thing is the ex used my sons as pawns and poisoned the relationship I had with them. Best and hardest thing to do is to remain calm, act strategically as possible, cover your own butt, and remove yourself from any situation with her that even hints at escalating. I support Mike 100%. However, arrest was made based on probable cause, which means its more probable than not that some type of donestic violence occurred. All it takes is a simple allegation, even a verbal threat and the officer is required to make the arrest whether he wants to or not. The state sees it as if there is not an intervention and one of the parties kills the other when officers leave, then the state can be held liable for that too. Keep in mind that just because you are arrested does not mean you are convicted. He will have his day in court and will be exonerated. How do I know this? Because of 17 years as a former LEO and the same BS happened to me. Ex wife made a false allegation of DV after I caught her having an affair. Not only were charges filled, but the courts pressured her into filing a protection order against me, which resulted in me being removed and having no access to my home. Obviously the charges were found to be untrue and I was exonerated. Do I blame the officers? Of course not! Do I blame my ex wife for lying? Absolutely!! Even with Mike not talking to the officers/investigators then an arrest would have still been made. Again, probable cause existed just by Mikes girlfriend/wife making those statements against him. I have been in Mikes position before Gents and it sucks. Turn the focus on the wife, not the officers in this situation. As I understand, she had previously injured her wrist in a motorcycle accident prior to the incident and intentionally misled the authorities to have Mike arrested. So really, who should be hammered in this case????

How do you define domestic battery? Does feeling pain count as injury? What if the victim complained of pain from alleged domestic violence, but there were no visible injuries? Do you ignore the victim's statements and do nothing?

I got hauled to jail for what my ex lied to the cops about. Didn't even hear my side of the story. Her friend is the one that came forward and told everyone that my ex made everything up. After having my bank account emptied, paying for lawyers, I sued, and won. It's sad that this happens, but it does.

This exact scenario happened to me during my divorce. Minus property damage, I was the one with a broken hand from my hand being slammed in a car door, then knocked downstairs that resulted in a nasty concussion. I still got charged, brought to jail, refused medical treatment by the arresting officer and jail. Tennessee 100% good ole boy police state, haven't met a single cop I'd piss on to put out a fire. All charges dropped, protective order dropped. Not until my now EX trashed everything I own or outright threw away. All my gunn rights have been restored, zero arrest record as all charges have been expunged from the record.

While there's likely no amicable resolution to the chosen behaviors hopefully dialog will happen in circles that gets some of the actors to think about how they've impacted Mike, the greater SOF community and to stop falling into the social media negativity trap. Hopefully, Mike and family are able to recover some semblance of normalcy. There's definitely a civil case with LEO to address their internal issues over the handling of multiple items associated with this occurence. Mike made a lot of mistakes, thats not an insult just an observation. I give thumbs up to a lot of guys like Andy Stumpf for putting out the message "get the facts then and only then judge", but I also think there are many learning points here, like don't talk to cops - let your lawyer do that. A big one that I haven't seen is "chose your partner very carefully" Not to dump on Mike, he's had a rough go, but guys learn from this, take your time and pick your partner very carefully. When I say take your time I mean YEARS, not months.

I had a crazy ex that I let hit me over and over. Never hit back but she called police saying I hit her. I took my shirt off to cops “I’m 6’ 215lbs and 5% body fat” I said if I hit her there would be a mark. I was raised better! She then admitted she hit me and I didn’t hit back. That was the last day I saw her. I told police I wanted her removed from my property and never seen again. Find yourself a good woman guys! They are rare! Find the girl that wants to sit by a fire with you and drink a beer. Just you two and enjoys trips to the range. The woman that betters you and doesn’t want to destroy you in an argument but wants to work through the problem with you. I found mine now and life’s a hell of a lot better!

I'm not going to comment 1 way or another about PD actions. In Nov 2023 a officer in DBPD.us made serious errors, false claims that I was involved of threats against me, self-harm. I was already involved in a felony case, Daytona Beach area. The PD did formally apologize. Not the chief, Jakari Young.

I was a Cop for 12 years. We would always wait for the alleged victim to be seen by a Doctor and then add whatever their findings were to our report. We would also get copies of the Doctors report to attach to our Police report.
Same here. Even if it was an obvious injury my report stated the facts as they were. “A possible fracture, awaiting medical confirmation.” Even if bone is protruding from the skin, that’s going to be my description.

I got in a fistfight Superbowl Sunday 2018. The guy I heat up got cut above his eye and under his cheek from my body knuckles. The police swore I had a knife and charged me with ag assault with a weapon. I sat in jail for 3 weeks until my preliminary and my lawyer got hospital reports and had the whole case thrown out

One being a philosophy of science course. Yes, there is a branch of academic inquiry called *Philosophy of Science.* Originally, that is the early founders, where men who had doctoral degrees in both philosophy and a science, usually physics.
I only bring all of that up because of over time I came to realize the interconnection of ideas 💡 between philosophy, religion, and the sciences.
For example, note the few characteristics I gave about angelic 🪽 creatures. Now consider if and how that may be considered when giving thought 🤔 to sightings of UFOs.
Most people are conditioned to begin their thoughts and inquiries with a presumption. Within rational thinking, the hermeneutics of thinking, that being "as a general rule..." that is not necessarily bad thing or irrational, so long as one remembers it is only "a general rule." Such thought tools helps speed up our reasoning capabilities as well as reduce our frequency of errors.
However, sometimes a "general rule" does not apply. As well as the presumption UFOs *have to be* intelligent designers that are aliens 👽 from another planet.
That presumption may be an error. And if angelic 🪽 creatures are real, and if they can travel at speeds akin to a lightning bolt ⚡, no human, no one in special ops can run faster than an angelic creature can move.
If that is true, if, then of angelic 🪽 creatures are akin to an NFL team, then even human special ops operators, in relative terms to angelic creatures, are at best a grade school team of clumsy football 🏈 players. Awareness of that opens a possibility for humility.

I’ve been through a similar situation when I was in the army. The woman is almost always usually believed over the man and assumed to be innocent. In my case SHE was the aggressor, and even though the police reports stated that I was still the one hit with more restrictions on the protection order than her. She even started sleeping with the police officer that was in charge of the investigation before it had all gone through the court system. People are always way too quick to judge and assume things. I wish Mike the best, I know exactly how it feels.

OPD arrested a retired resident(no crimes, prior cases) for drugs. 📂 It turned out the meth, drug residue was 🍩 crumbs. This innocent man had his life 📉. Orlando PD blamed Safariland but that went nowhere.

Our system is so wrong. I was arrested for domestic violence when I was the one hurt. Yes I was found innocent but the initial arrest (no reason) and lawyer plus court costs were insane. When found innocent you should get AT LEAST your money back. Damn shame

I met a lady at an herb shop with your t shirt. I complimented her as it was prior to Memorial Day and I was wrapping up a paper on the Bennington Battle Memorial Monument. And I have some close relationships with Ranger and GB, bigMac types - so much appreciation for those heroes.
I’ve been in this type of situation. You quickly realize who your friends are and in some cases, that the court system is biased against men. It was a costly endeavor for me to defend myself. The worst thing is the ex used my sons as pawns and poisoned the relationship I had with them. Best and hardest thing to do is to remain calm, act strategically as possible, cover your own butt, and remove yourself from any situation with her that even hints at escalating. I hope he gets through this ok.

I support Mike 100%. However, arrest was made based on probable cause, which means its more probable than not that some type of donestic violence occurred. All it takes is a simple allegation, even a verbal threat and the officer is required to make the arrest whether he wants to or not. The state sees it as if there is not an intervention and one of the parties kills the other when officers leave, then the state can be held liable for that too. Keep in mind that just because you are arrested does not mean you are convicted. He will have his day in court and will be exonerated. How do I know this? Because of 17 years as a former LEO and the same BS happened to me. Ex wife made a false allegation of DV after I caught her having an affair. Not only were charges filled, but the courts pressured her into filing a protection order against me, which resulted in me being removed and having no access to my home. Obviously the charges were found to be untrue and I was exonerated. Do I blame the officers? Of course not! Do I blame my ex wife for lying? Absolutely!! Even with Mike not talking to the officers/investigators then an arrest would have still been made. Again, probable cause existed just by Mikes girlfriend/wife making those statements against him. I have been in Mikes position before Gents and it sucks. Turn the focus on the wife, not the officers in this situation. As I understand, she had previously injured her wrist in a motorcycle accident prior to the incident and intentionally misled the authorities to have Mike arrested. So really, who should be hammered in this case????

23 years as a patrolman. No way would I have charged someone with Domestic Battery without confirming the injury, and verifying victims statement by looking at scene.
Talked to a few of my police friends and they all said the exact same thing.
How do you define domestic battery? Does feeling pain count as injury? What if the victim complained of pain from alleged domestic violence, but there were no visible injuries? Do you ignore the victim's statements and do nothing?

I got hauled to jail for what my ex lied to the cops about. Didn't even hear my side of the story. Her friend is the one that came forward and told everyone that my ex made everything up. After having my bank account emptied, paying for lawyers, I sued, and won. It's sad that this happens, but it does.

It's hard to honestly say. Spanish Fork Utah is hardly Miami, NOLA, LA, Detroit MI. I'd add some PDs, sheriffs are corrupt or have dirty cops, IA problems. This exact scenario happened to me during my divorce. Minus property damage, I was the one with a broken hand from my hand being slammed in a car door, then knocked downstairs that resulted in a nasty concussion. I still got charged, brought to jail, refused medical treatment by the arresting officer and jail. Tennessee 100% good ole boy police state, haven't met a single cop I'd piss on to put out a fire. All charges dropped, protective order dropped. Not until my now EX trashed everything I own or outright threw away. All my gunn rights have been restored, zero arrest record as all charges have been expunged from the record.
Man, that’s freakin awesome news. Going from him being basically universally loved to the “I knew it” crowd coming out was typical. Really glad he’s being exonerated. Can’t wait to see him back at work. Thanks for keeping us updated, brother!
