Although I'm not done with part 1 I'm looking forward to the next part--especially 7:05 into the song when Eddie makes his guitar cry. This is truly an epically underrated song. It is amazing to think how George Clinton recognized the beauty in this solo and dropped the other musicians off the track to let Eddie shine. Speaking of shining, Jason, keep bringing it. This is the song I've been waiting for. Thank you so much for this.

great lessons for sure, but you also cover it verrrry good, the tone and feel as well, which is very delicate! It's one of my favorite songs of all time and allthough i knew the chords and some licks for years, I always tought it is too difficult to play and get that magical feel from the studio track, but you give me new hope again haha

This is awesome. What pickup and what pedals do you have going on?
charles bradley thanks. I'm using the Electro Harmonix Cockfight Plus, which is great for this because it combines wah and distortion. Also added some delay on the amp. Neck pickiup with the tone rolled back a bit.

I'm new the world of electric guitars. What pedals do I need to play this. I bought a big muff pi. But I have no knowledge on how to get all the distortion sounds. It looks like I need a wah pedal too?
Hi John, to get this sound I'm using a combination of overdrive/distortion, wah and delay :)

WOW - WOW -WOW!!! I have been tinkering with this since it came out. I can play it better than most people I've heard attempt it, but never quite note-for-note. I've heard a lot a guitarists jam over the chords, which is pretty easy to do, but I am the type who is not satisfied till I get it EXACT. I've always had parts where I've had to improvise a few riffs. YOU HAVE FILLED IN ALL THE BLANKS! THIS IS FANTASTIC! THANK YOU!
