We (African) think that violence is the way to become a successful person. They mistreat you to the point where you no longer have a sense of reality or security. Everything you say, I have seen it. Here is the one I hate the most: adults help themselves first when there is food on the table. In my house, it is always kids first.
9:57 “ … being strong does not equate to being stupid or dumb …“ It is tough being an African, more so being an African woman. When you see how IWD is commemorated in Cameroon, you wonder if/when our next Rosa Parks or Simone Veil will ever come out … I cannot believe how, in 2024, certain women still think so little of themselves … ABL, your standards are so high that I am always in awe when I see how do business in our country. This video is an excellent testimony to who you are as a person. Good night … 💐💐💐
Your words ❤️❤️❤️. Our next Rosa Parks? Huummm we still have a long way to go 😪. I can only wish for things to get better and for people to stop the suffering of others. This world is beautiful but humans have turned it into a nightmare 💔.
Ive come to the conclusion that African people need therapy just as much as other ethnicity. We have so much trauma that's covered up as been strong. So many suffer with mental issues and childhood trauma that they unknowingly pass on to their children. Which is very sad. This is a conversation that's worth having. Thank you for educating your community around such issues
Very good conversation, in our communities its always so hard to break down certain things to parents, but yh we are the new adults so lets do the work
This is such an important conversation Jenny. We should indeed stop the cycle of generational trauma against women and children. A lot of people hang around me say I'm a feminist. I don't want to give a name to my line of thoughts. The ratio is glaring. How many women beat up their men? How many men have been chased out of their family houses to go and get married because they are too old to be in their parents houses? How many men have been denied inheritance because of their gender? How many men have been r@ped? And the list goes on. It gets worse when this victim is a little innocent girl🤔. I have seen it multiple times when adults are having interesting conversations and completely ignore a child trying to get their attention on something😢. I always do not hesitate to correct that when it happens around me. I wish I could have a very long conversation on these concerns that you have raised. I consciously lend a helping hand to women more because I know the general rule of life does not favour us. Whenever I go to a local market back home, I consciously buy only from women. Especially the ones with children around them. Because I know the story of their lives would likely be a sad one. If not there would have been someone taking care of the child/children at home while she struggles to make ends meet. Jenny, sorry for the long message 😢. If more men engage in this conversation, we will see some positive changes. About 90% of them are the law makers. I rest my case 😊.
Thank you for this heartfelt comment ❤️ there are so many layers to peel off to heal the wounds we carry. The world is a beautiful place that humans have made into a Nightmare. As a woman who have seen others suffer in the hands of men because of the so called "it's culture", I can say, I have never been the same. My childhood was shaped and my strength grew bigger when I understood that being an african woman is associated with suffering & normalized in our community. I must say: aging is a wonderful thing that comes with wisdom, confidence, & a great deal of "F it", I will stand for what I believe and fight for others who may not have that privilege yet. And I truly appreciate your support in helping advocate for others. 💪🏾
@@Jennyleonce Thanks so much Jenny. Keep doing what you are doing and never settle for less. Someone out there have the standards you are looking for. It's just a matter of time 😊.

You're so right 💯. Many really suffer and when they voice their opinion, people call it being weak. That's really sad 😔
I agree.

Tell me about it. Having this convo with my parents has been hard. Slowly but surely 😉
