This super creamy Smoked Mac and Cheese recipe is pure comfort with a creamy blend of three types of cheeses and crispy bacon, all infused with a rich, smoky flavor. Tuck into a warm bowl of this savory, indulgent dish and enjoy the moment.
My goal was to make this recipe cheesy and creamy, with plenty of smoke flavor. You won’t find Velveeta, American cheese, or cream cheese in this recipe either!

What cheeses would you choose?
Definitely sharp or white cheddar or parmesan, maybe havarti or mozzarella. I just love cheese so there's a lot of options. Can't wait to make this.
I just did this and followed the recipe closely. Only variation was the Cavatapi Pasta I used and cheese that had already been smoked. Even though the cheese had smoke I cooked it on my smoker at the recommended temp of 250 or lower. This is key. recipes I've done in the past have had you bake it at too high a temp. I did finish it in the broiler in the oven to crisp up the top. The result is the creamiest, nicely spiced, smoked mac-n-cheese I've ever experienced. A little bit of heaven.

Can i cook it in the oven if i do not have a smoker?
Absolutely! You don’t need to bake it though, you can just broil the top with cheese.

@ No, that’s very bitter. I’d add some chipotle or smoked paprika instead
