Woah, hang on. I've been out of the loop. Fallen are now just a another flavour of Loyalist Marines in the Space Marine Ice-Cream bar now? Isn't that kind of boring?
They have Risen in the meantime... Though to be fair Asmodai might be questioning his now-returned primarch's wisdom any time he sees his bodyguards :D
@@kosm999 It was always implied in lore that the Dark Angel’s hunt for The Fallen (at least to the extremes they took it) was always a mistake, if not a full blown existential crisis, for the chapter (especially since a good chunk of Fallen would love to just be left alone. Hell, some join Chaos only BECAUSE The Dark Angels pursued them so ruthlessly). This is just The Lion trying to nip that issue in the butt as only he as the Dark Angels Primarch can. For The Emperor’s sake, when Robby went to first visit the Dark Angels, the Dark Angels and their assembled successors thought he was there regarding Cypher and The Fallen that helped him reach Terra… _They almost blew the ultramarines primarch to kingdom come before they calmed down._
For the Inner circle boys they will probably come in a box of 3, so they will be extremely overpriced. If you look at the promo images, you can see the 6 models only have 3 unique bodies, the differences are the arms, heads and the trinkets. Shame, I would have loved a 5box of them, but you can at least kitbash the rest of the bits.
Best tip I find to free hand text, especially on purity seals is to use a micron .005 pen. Makes it look so good compared to painting text. And it lasts!
when it comes to deathwing knights, I do prefer the censer weapons. I also kinda dont like the new helmets they gave them. the art on the box features terminators with hoods and I assume those are maces, so I would think the models inside have these options too but they arent showcased on the models for whatever reason. but knowing GW its a big assumption that the box contains whats on the cover.
The new dark angels models will be worthy sacrifices to my celestial lions. I run them with my emperors spears, my lions get all the gravis and terminators
Dont sell your current Terminators, I have kept my original metal rogue trader Deathwing for playing that, and space hulk, then kept the 2nd edition Deathwing plastics for 2nd ed, and up until the base size change, and will use the newest ones just for the new editions, its great if you ever want to go back and play previous editions, I regularly play 2nd and Rogue Trader, and its fun to be able to play previous editions, with the correct models.
As far as the Inner Circle Companions go, I don't think that's Mark X armor, unless there was a retcon that it was possible to have that armor fitted to the Firstborn Astartes (although that would make sense and could be supported by the TDT/Terminator Armor being in use by both Primaris and Firstborn)... because those are very much firstborn who might have tripped at one point and their colour scheme is very distinct ;)
The powerpacks are Mark X and the vambraces match the ones on the Indomitus marines so I'm pretty sure that's the right armour, but either way they look solid
@@ethanvallance4989 my headcanon is that surviving the rubicon is all about willpower. We know willpower is an actual thing in 40k what with the warp and all. It would explain why the rubicon can simultaneously be dangerous, yet has not killed any of our great hero characters. Some random firstborn dude might not survive, but someone like dante or azrael should have no trouble
If I recall correctly, I think during the new sternguard reveal Q&A, they did mention that the marines in those mark X’s can either be firstborn or primaris.
I dont know whether you painted The Lion, but many of these details match what you see in these models, especially the embossed name. I did not find that hard to paint. I think you can repeat the techniques you used to make The Lion look good. It might also help to read The Lion son of the Forest to get inspiration about how to approach these guys and who they are.
im gonna mix helbrect or however you spell his name with belial. i think he would be really easy to convert with a simple headswap some trimming and some other changes
You know how everyone uses Tor Garadon as a basis for converting captains/chapter masters in gravis armor? Belial will be that but for terminator armor.
Kind of bummed that despite a big focus on revamping the death wing they skipped out on updating the death wing command sqaud. So no cool apothecary, ancient, or strikemaster. Also replacing incense maces with power mauls is weird and forgetting about the flail is lame for the knights.
Sadly the lack of options is down to the fact the new terminators are so much bigger, requiring more sprue space. For example the new genestealers are able to come with an entire second set of heads causs they really arent much bigger
Robes over armour looks so awesome because Surcoats are class, and I'll never understand why they fell out of style in late medieval period. Robes are just surcoats with more cloth.
Finally I can get some hooded helmets, they are my favourite. Dont like faces, give em helmets and hoods 👍. Also, I hope there is an option to not have the incence. I like it, but it will look rubbish when I paint it.
The Inner Circle Companions look great, but I find their robes around the chest funny. I'm just imagining them with that gap showing the Aquila on their breastplate, but they're not wearing armour. So they're full nips our for the Battle-Brothers.
You should compare the new deathwing knights with the old (and belial) side by side. It paints a pretty sad picture for the way GW are going. Obviously the new scale and crisp sculpting is great but the old ones have so much more flavour and iconography and little details. E.g the little teleport lights are sort of cathedral/stain glass window shaped…. The new ones don’t have any of that. And that’s just the top of the iceberg and doesn’t even go into the fact it looks like they are losing the deathwing command squad half of the kit. I’m not a DA player but I would genuinely be sad if I was ironically despite all these news models. The companions are great though can’t complain about them
As a DA player I agree 100%. This new Deathwing terminators are a disgrace after the kit we had. Even the new Deathwing Knights have barely any iconography on them. I seriously doubt I will replace my Deathwing with any of them (including Belial). These are barely anything else than regular terminators. The only positive thing are the Companions who give me at least some hope we will see a few decent chapter specific units. But the terminators have been a big dispointment.
That Deathwing Assault box looks great, but you can more or less guarantee it'll be botted out of stock about 2mins after it goes live on the terrible new website... Some would call me cynical!
The Inner Circle Companions are Fallen and the fact they bodyguard Asmodai is funny to me

The fact Belial looks like an old Dwayne Johnson really makes me hope there is a full helmeted option
Inner Circle Companions are essentially the 40k version of Deathwing Companions, so I'm not complaining
Dude I feel this, all 3 of my armies have been updated within the last few months (Nids, Necrons, and Dark Angels) and my wallet is hurting
I'm always interested in a big box full of terminators.

I think most likely they will come in groups of 5 due to the reveal trailer showing them in a squad of 5.
Really hoping the risen with the red augmetic eye is Borz from the lions novel. Love the risen and these dudes look amazing

Do you not Clear-coat your models? A spray on matte or satin varnish will save all your paint, not just text
Why not get a paint pen?
Rivets is the word you were looking for

The Inner Circle Companions definitely goes along with my idea of making same of the named Risen and running them as Sternguard now
Kinda wish those Inner Circle had been a KT to face off against those new Night Lords in a Thramas Crusade rematch
This preview made me order the Lion, I'm building a DA army now
The new dark angels models will be worthy sacrifices to my celestial lions. I run them with my emperors spears, my lions get all the gravis and terminators
I thought I heard or read that the inner circle would be resin. But I think that's ppl confusing or thinking about the HH inner circle kit
Belial is wearing a chonkier terminator armor with the curved top. Should be similar to Abaddon.

Bad.
How about the *other* missing stuff? Like the previews

Belial looks ok, whish he had a helmet (option). And what's with that tactical rock?
He should have parts of old terminator armor
Mark my words, these models will form basis for the new Grey Knights, as Nu-GDubbs is extremely lazy to say the least.
One complaint their Primaris. Otherwise great.
Belial looks very thin to me dunno what you talking about.
No, they are targeting me 😜😅🤣
I think that the only thing these models are missing is a lovely mcragge blue basecoat and just a smidge of ultramarines iconography
All I'll say is, My wallet weeps.
Do a terminator stream !
I love when gw charges an arm and a leg and another leg for models
Ignorant question: can these Inner Circle Companions be considered the DA equivalent of the Victrix Guard???
