Thank you for sharing your knowledge it means a lot to us beginners. I have a question about something you said in the video. You make a extra pass going back and forth vertical if the film needs more activator. How do you know what film needs more activator? Can you tell from looking at the film or handling it?
It is all from experience. No two films are the same, which is one of the reasons people struggle so hard with activating. It takes a lot of time and practice, which is why I always tell people to practice on something cheap before doing your actual project.
My spray gun has a 1.7 mm tip, I need a 1.3 but I can’t seem to find any. Are all tips interchangeable between different guns? I have a kobalt model SGY-AIR176NB
What a great help! Thank you! I was curious about the regulator? What brand do you use and how precise should they be? I've got a Harbor Freight digital regulator but it will jump from 12-18 psi between uses.
I had some HF regulators and had the same issue. The ones I buy now are from amazon and cost about 40 bucks. They last about a year and I toss them and get new ones. It needs to be pretty specific so you can get repeatable results.
@@AllThingsFunHydrographics After some close studying of your video and the price you mentioned, I believe I found the regulator on Amazon. I just ordered one. Thanks for responding Chris!
Thanks for the good videos, I'm learning a lot. I'm a beginner and I'm hesitating between buying a cheap spray gun or sticking with aerosol activators. Will a cheap spray gun spread the activator better than a rattle can? Thanks!
Do you think that particles (even ones you think you can’t see) can effect the way the film goes on a product? Ex: tiny wood particles, dust, micro water droplets from a the air compressor?
Great video but I'm correcting in two important points. When you adjust the air pressure you did it with an empty gun. After you filled it with activator I can assure you that the pressure goes up, not by much but it still effect the spray pattern. Second. You opened the needle full. If you turn it clockwise a half to 3/4 turn you will have less over spray.
I use cheapest spray gun from China..... My actvatior work with all films.... Don't recommend online shop actvatiors.... Most company's use different actvatior for them..what they sale only can work for some films....
Thanks for the best explanation of how to overlap passes I’ve ever seen. Overall great job
Thanks Terry, just trying to keep it simple so people that are not so smart like me can learn.
This is the video I been waiting on 😅 thanks!
Awesome, glad I could help.
Whats the best nozzle size for the activator spray gun
You're an excellent teacher
Thank you Frankie, glad you enjoyed the video.
Great info as always. Thanks! What if you use a rattle can?
Same application principal applies. You will get much better results with a spray gun.
Nice work, how about what size fluid tip are you using.
1.8
Waiting everyday for new video's thanks for being reall God bless
Thanks Alexander, hoping to get back to filming this week.
What size tip is best?
can you hydro dip the spray guns
What does the color Eleven smell like?
Great video mate
Glad you enjoyed
"...I can smell the color 11!"
LMBO! 🤣🤣🤣
How to know when the Monster drinks and coffee have kicked in: when you smell the color 9 you are almost there! LOL

Hello, what’s the best site to get films and sprays?
There is no best, it all just depends on what you want. One hit wonder, big brain, twn, liquid concepts all sell the products you need.
Would this work with an electric paint sprayer?
Never tried it.
How would I be able to tell what film might need more activator
Trial and error. Lots of testing and practice. Every time I get a new film I have to trial and error and see what it likes.

No, every model is made different.

Great video bro. But I want to know the tip size. I’m using 1.4.
I talked about it in the video. I use a 1.8. anything between 1.4 and 1.8 is fine.
Oh ok. Maybe I jump the gun and couldn’t wait for the bloopers lol. Thanks

Spray gun hands down. There is zero consistency with the cans and they make it much more difficult to dip.
One of the best tutorials I have seen!
You are missing a Corona (for the haters) though...
😂😂😂
LOL... Oh I miss Jim and his Corona for the haters! He was always my favorite to watch.

anything that makes the surface rough or not smooth is going to affect the dip. You want to parts to be clean and smooth as possible.
Technically, if you pinned a comment with the links....it would be in time comments. Lmao. Great vid!
Thanks a great point... Forgot about pining comments, but still, why can I not make words with then sentences and stuff lol?
@@AllThingsFunHydrographics because you're special. 😂😂😂
Hi what size of gun to use for activator 1.4mm or 1.6mm?
I use a 1.8 tip, many people like a 1.4.
Do you have to clean the spray gun after using it every day with activator?
No sir... I make sure to filter the activator before I put it in the cup and I have not cleaned the spray gun in so long I cant remember.
You couldn't of picked a better day to post this video, my activator gun gets delivered tomorrow! Thank you!
