Great video! After dipping i sometimes get little white specs, is this because im not doing something right or have i used little activator or pressure too high. If i could have some help, thank you!

Hi , thanks for the great video , I have an issue when dipping the parts ,the film just not stick ti the part and sometimes breaks after a minute or so after dipping , any advises please ?

Can you tell me in rinsing water tank for how many times or cycle we can use same water? As it got pva residue in it with using again and again

Do i have to do this with all type of materials? Wood? Metal? Plastics? And can i use the same temperature 89F ? For Dipping and rinsing
Thanks for your great videos! Is it possible to dip deer antlers (not skull) with hydrographic film? Would you have to tape off sides and double dip? Just wondering how to tackle that? Thanks very much!
Yes it is possible but due to every antler being different some could be more complex than others. You would be best to dip each side separate in most cases.
Another brilliant video, definitely one of my go to for dipping advice, but need some advice! I'm currently very new to hydro dipping and I've only dipped using spray paint, which generally I'm enjoying and the results are pretty good but I think even using just spray paint and no films it seems like my work could still benefit from rinsing as they seem to have that sticky feel that you mentioned, maybe I sound stupid but you never really mentioned anything about rinsing paint dipped parts
Oh on this process with dipping using spray paints I could not offer in exact advise as this is not something we do. However there should be no need to rinse this I would not think,
Just wondering as no one has talked about it, do you use a tub of water and recycle it and use the same water over and over, is it all fresh water, and is there a cleaning/rinsing process of the water to get the PVA out of the water before draining the water?
Can you tape after the hyrodip dries?

Where can I purchase a rinse station like yours, but on a smaller scale say 1/2 the size of yours?
Is the rinse water ok to go down the drain or would it be considered hazardous waste and need to be collected?

I took a nap, woke up a year later….and he still didn’t rinse it off.! Legend says….he is still explaining the process.
Hey man hope all is well . When doing this at home. How do I dispose of the water I have sprayed activator and the sheet in ? Just want to make it's safe to throw on soil or grass etc ?
Most all the time the water is disposed either in the sewer system or on the ground. Depending on where you live, you may have to submit a water sample to get a permit or know for sure how to dispose of it properly.
What's the prep on the part before you dip? And what is cleanup like for at home dip tanks /basin? Can you dip into a second clean water bin instead of using a running hose/spray?
You have to properly prep the item like its being painted with automotive paint. sand, primer, paint, dip, rinse, clear coat. Clean up for the DIY could be getting new water after a few dips or some type of DIY filter tray. Usually you want running water over the part to help rinse off the parts the best.
What size pump did you guys use? That was impressive!
I think around 1HP or so but I would have to look again and see. Cant remember right off the top of my head.
Hi Brian, If after hydro dipping, can I wait for 10 minutes and sink the part into water to clean it? Is there any difference between rinsing it strait from shower like you did?

Hey Brian need advice if you have the time so dipping a lot of items and ran out of one gallon of activator ok go to next justbhad a quart and now when spraying the same speed and volume parts are melting off in rinse but paint is staying so i don't think it's affecting the paint softness any suggestions
How old is the quart that you started using? Also if you let the parts sit for 20 min. or so before rinsing, do they do the same?
@@LiquidConceptsUSA I talked to my supplier and he said I may have got a quart of hot stuff on accident I ended up blending that quart with a new gallon when I got it and the issue went away back to spraying normal and rinsing normal

Normally automotive based paints or you can even use the paint that you are using for the hydrographics.

How often do you change the tank water? How do you dispose of it? Is the waste environmentally friendly?
It depends on how much the tank has been used. We change our water about once a month. As for disposal, you need to contact your local departments.
Is your rinse tank a re circulation tank? If so, do you all put anything in the rinse water to keep it from growing bacteria
Yes it does recirculate the water and most of the time we are changing the water out in around 1 month or so to keep it fresh.
So is not rinsing the part at all will explain why my clear coat shrinks when cold and after warm day its looks back to normal?
Yes that is possible.
What's the activator that you spray over the film after you have put it in the water?

How long after dipping can you wait until rinsing? Is there a time limit?
You can wait 30 seconds or you can wait a few days. If you do wait longer than around a few hours, we have found that it is much harder to remove the PVA than if you rinse while the part is still wet.
If you over activate a part is it still usable how would you Salvage that
It will depend really. Sometime the dip will still look well enough to salvage with minor touchups but other times you have to redo it.
Sir i dip a small part but the film suddenly deform it did not stick,what the reason it happen?? The parts been painted almost a week
It may be that you used the wrong type of paint.
If I have any blowout, water with hardly no pressure seems to just eat away at that area
Hey I keep rinsing my part but on the process of rinsing it it starts to remove from or scratch up on the image after the image was place very nice. I honestly don’t know what I’m doing wrong i saw the video I’m rinsing it with worm water from the sing and still it just dissolves small pieces from the object.

You are either over or under activating your film.
Can you do a patch video? Like when the carbon fiber only covers 95% of the part and you have a small corner that didn't get covered. Instead of having to striped and redip
We have done this but I do not feel this is good to do with carbon fiber. Simply because when you do the "patch" you will not be able to line the carbon fiber up to make it look correctly. This can be done with camo and other abstract random patterns though in some cases.

Be careful not to use too hot water for rinsing of parta. The hot water may smear/ tear off small parts of your dip if you're dip wasn't perfect like it didn't stick to well to your paint/part etc. I found mild water temp not to cold water is great for rising it with the bathroom sink. Once you don't feel any slime with your fingers your part is ready to be dried. This is for people who are new to hydroping and doing it at home like I'm am. Trust me.
Where does the contaminated water go ones it dissolved the pva? Is it harmful for the environment?
The tank has a filter media in it. Normally we don't see any effects of this with an impact for the environment as its pretty much water your using.

When I’m rinsing off the residue, parts of my dips actually start to come off?! How can I stop this 😭
Normally that sounds like the dip was under activated and causing the print to wash off
Rinse it shower mode warm water. Done.
When I rinse the film just comes off. Why?
Typically if the print it rinsing off this is due to it being over activated or not adhering to the paint.

@@wyattheggie6725 yes you will need to primer and base coat the stock as the print will not stick to the original factory base.

He's trying to explain the process in detail for those of us trying to learn how to do this correctly.
Sure I could just show a quick video but that would not be the way to actually teach somebody the correct way to do this process. You could always put it on mute if you dont like the sound of Bryans voice!
@nick tapp. Get a grip mate. It's a video a lot of people out there dont show. Most of us who hydrodip are still learning every day. Most cant afford the tuition money for the courses to learn the correct techniques, so be grateful there are people willing to show how they have become successful in the line of work. One last thing if you dont like it dont watch it.
