      If you did not grow up in the eighties it would be more of a generational comparison. Bob Ross was an iconic TV show about learning how to paint. Mr. Ross created masterful paintings. His techniques were flawless and imagination boundless. He had a soothing voice and an addictive personality which gave life to his paint, brushes & paintings. He was a Masterful teacher of his art! Suszie is most definitely all of these as well. Cheers

    I started watching Suzie a few months ago when I decided to overlay my own nails. I ordered (way too many) supplies, tried acrylic, gel and polygel (poly is DEF my fav!), and had a knack for it, within a month of doing my own nails, I’d started doing friends and family. I’ve really fallen in love with the medium. It’s almost therapeutic... getting the shape just so, playing with so many creative nail designs and enhancements, I’m in love. I now have people literally stopping me on the street to ask where I got my nails done! I’m saving up to get certified in my state, which is a requirement to work in a salon here. My dream is to come train with you and take your intensive class. Please let us know when the next round will begin, I’m hoping to have enough saved to sign up! ❤️. I watch your videos every day for inspiration and knowledge and just to make me smile. You are THE BEST. Thank you for sharing your skill and techniques with us, I can’t begin to tell you how much your videos have meant to me. You and your videos, and your willingness to share, were a major springboard for me to claw my way out from under a deep depression that had enveloped my life for almost 3 years. Thank you, Suzie, from the bottom of my heart, for being there to motivate and inspire me. I will always be grateful to you. ❤️❤️❤️

    Honestly, I almost really think, that it is all just the underside that determines the clarity. I believe, that if you filed and buffed and gel-topcoated the underside just like upperside, they would both be equally perfectly clear. It's just the underside that has been sitting on the form and that hasn't formed a perfectly smooth surface, because iit has been sitting on the paper. Esp. the Powder/Monomer-Acrylic, because it startsout as tiny gritty particles that then fuse togehter. held in place by the paper.

    I’m curious to know what you think about the actual difference in the product that you use? Do you think some clear acrylics could be clearer than others? I’ve seen some girls here on TH-cam use a certain one, and it’s clear, but I’ve seen others, like Kirsty from Naio Nails, do a clear nail with their brand of clear and it’s literally like CRYSTAL! Just wondering. You’re amaze balls, Suzie! ❤️♥️

    • @calichef1962
      @calichef1962 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Kirsty explained how she keeps acrylic really clear in one of her clear acrylic videos. According to that video it's all about getting the acrylic powder and monomer ball exactly the right ratio of monomer liquid to powder, and not moving the acrylic around very much. Literally, just patting it into place very carefully. After watching that video the acrylic overlays that I was doing on my natural nails got a lot clearer. And I stopped being afraid to "waste" a couple of imperfect acrylic balls.

I haven't ever messed with gels, other than gel polish. I haven't had any real training in sculpture/builder gels, so I have neither the confidence nor the budget to add those products to my nail art stash. BTW, I *LOVE* the shorter square with rounded corners nails on your right hand! That is how I try to make my nails look. This is an awesome vid, thank you! I truly love the gel, hands down! I've been using fake toe nails and they really work well for me. I don't have attractive looking toe nails, so I definitely need some help. I get so many compliments on my fake French toenails. It's the only ones I use. However, sometimes, the sizes don't always fit. My husband doesn't like the red or other colors. I will try the gel for sure on my next pedi. I need to buy the tools. Again, thank you for the thorough comparison. ❤❤❤

    *2 questions I’m hoping someone could answer!*
    1- I know you used gel over gel but is it ok to use gel polish over gel?
    2- what would you recommend more for novice/intermediates?

    • @NailCareerEducation

      Gel is not meant to go over polish, but you can do it - you can cheat it- polish must be dry before you coat it with the Gel👍🏼

    The gel seems to be a lot more transparent. It seems to be more glass like. It's lovely watching you work with gels. I'm sure a lot of die hard acrylic techs would find it hard to try something new. Would you say gels are your new favourite? Or would you still prefer acrylic? Is one stronger than the other? Can I ask (anyone who reads this can answer) do you have to oil the cuticles every day? Or is it just something you put on after having nails done? I use handcream every day and rub it around my nails and round the back of the nails, but should I do this with oil instead?

  • @Grellibe

    Experiment using different products.
    "Usually it's on MY OTHER HAND"
    Immediately shows a product that has a Holo sticker.
    Extra emphasis on nail oil???
    We all know what this is hinting at.
    Suzie is going to collab with fellow Canadian TH-camr, Lew from Unbox Therapy.
    Undeniable proof.

    I remember hearing quite a bit about the clarity of gel in the last few videos, and I’m really glad Suzie decided to make this video. I was under the impression that acrylic turns out much more cloudy that it actually does. Three cheers for education!
    Plus, Cameraman has spoiled me so much with this editing. I love rewatching old NCE videos, but the new ones are such treats that the older vids don’t even compare! Loving this channel so much 💜💅

    Hey Suzie! I got my nails done a while ago and the nail tech was pretty rough handed and wouldn’t let me say much. My nails looks decent but some of them are different lengths and I know it wasn’t the best set I’ve gotten. How do I let them know without sounding rude, or what’s a better approach to making sure my nails are done right?

      I once left a nail shop with all the nails filed about five degrees off from straight across. She was really consistent, I'll give her that. They were ALL the same exact angle, just not the 90 degree angle to my sidewalls that I was after. The next day I filed them straight and applied a fresh topcoat to keep the tips sealed.

      Hiya giving feed back to your technician is very nerve racking if its not possitive but it's probably the most important. I would rather hear bad feed back and have the opportunity to fix any errors than to loose a client or see them go elsewhere. It's incredibly embarrassing for both parties bumping into clients that have another tech's work then to hear they wernt happy. Give your tech the opportunity first air any issues. Tell them exactly what you want to start. Its your hands you have to be happy. 💅💕😊

    • @clairemann6074
      @clairemann6074 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi Maitri, I’ve been a pro nail tech for 8yrs and have had the odd client over the yrs that is quite happy to say if she’s not 100% happy..tho tbh I can usually tell by their face if there is one nail that is bothering them, so I always ask. I would never be offended if I was asked to fix something. It’s usually a minuscule bit that you’d need a brain surgeons magnifying glasses to see, but I will always sort it. After all, I want my work (and photos) to be the best that they can be....despite working to time constraints....a good nail tech will welcome comments....a bad one won’t. You’re paying for a service so, unless you’re paying peanuts, don’t worry about asking for a correction xx

    I’m addicted to your channel, I’ve seen every video atleast twice (except this one) and you may have already answered these questions in previous videos but I can’t remember if you did or not, so my questions are: 1.) it looks like you use the same forms with both gel and acrylic, are they same or does the same company make separate forms for acrylic and gel? 2.) it also looks like you start at the free edge for acrylic and the nail bed for gel, why is that? Do you need to start at the nail bed for gel?
    Thank you Suzie. Love you and your channel. Camera man does an amazing job editing these videos. ❤️
