- To the surprise of no one, I've yet again bought another pile of junk project car... a Dodge Demon under $20,000? How could I say no! It may need a little lot of work... but it's time to max the credit cards and build the ultimate American muscle car and what better platform to start with than the legendary Challenger Demon!
After years of buying Scat Pack's, 392's and Hellcat's from salvage auction, I'm thrilled to own my first demon, even if it's completely, utterly destroyed...

it'll buff out...😉
This car is actually as bad if not worse than Phoenix.
Or just wrap it.
Run away as fast as you can you were gonna get hosed
@@chevelle-pi1bn no it's not this needs a roof and a pillars and maybe an upper cowl diy gang/ Jose needed a complete rear clip inner front aprons he saved the front rail and towers and the cowl engine and transmission the rest went into the scrap pile....this car is an easy fix get a wide body challenger hit in the rear
It looks like the DIYGang engine took more heat and it wasn't destroyed so I think there's a good chance a good portion of this one is useable.
Dude, you are absolutely insane, one for buying it for anywhere near 20k, I wouldn't give someone 1k for it and 2 for being willing to pump in an insane amount of time and money to rebuild it. Good luck my man.
He’s doing it for content. So he’s literally making money to do it
@@carnifex2173 is he making 20k plus all the prices for parts and donor cars? Highly doubt it
@@scottp7600 6.5m views. Yes, he made his money back off of views alone.
@@scottp7600 yeah, he definitely made his money back. Just look at the size of their garage, you really don't think they know what they're doing?
I'm in awe How lucky was the person who sold it
Y’all got a lot of trust in that forklift. Walking under that car
Was thinking the same thing
I agree, Seen those cylinders fail with loads, not pretty!
Yea.. as a forklift operator I've actually seen an accident first hand.. it's not pretty at all
@@Perry.... i watched a guys arm pop like a balloon when he got ran over.
Thats why they say..check your corners when working in the racks of a warehouse.
@@robert9595 yeah i seen a few stickers of wood shatter from the wheels of our forklift. They don’t really drive over them just smash them and stops me forklift from driving
"Safety is the #1 priority here . . . "
This said after they were standing under the car (and moving stuff around) while it was being held up by a forklift.
As a Fork lift Mechanic I’m Shocked About How Much Trust They Have In That Lift😂😂😂
Right?!? We use these in the shop in the daily and I would NEVER trust ours like this! Holy moly.
Right Bru😂
Saw a dodge rebuilt on Graveyard carz worst than that..
Dude as a 10 year experience forklift operator that made my butthole clench up.
how about a time stamp for us people who haven't watched the entire video
Dont repaint it! Clearcoat it and let it tell the story, just add all the components back to it so itll run and drive like normal but dont take its beauty marks away!
... yeah man like my foreskin in a formaldehyde filled jar next to my bed... cause life sometimes leaves you with a little momentous...
I like that idea and might even suggest going topless since the roof looks a little fubar. 🤷♂️
No don’t give him bad ideas
@@yasinninjagoisfun9929 you meant to say don’t give him FANTASTIC ideas right? Because inheritance bank account Billy is gonna try it too after seeing how good it’ll look and blow his whole port.
Nope
3:35 made me pucker... walking under a car with it suspended by a forklift... good gawd man, have you never seen a fail compilation?
By the time you're done with it, I'm afraid it's either not gonna be a Demon anymore or it's gonna cost more than a new one...
Yelp same thing I thought 🤔💭
There's no such thing as a new one, they were discontinued a long time ago they only came out for one year, and it is literally just a hellcat engine, CEO has said multiple times that it is just the hellcat redeye engine but for the hellcat redeye they had to use a computer to tune down some of the powers so that it wouldn't outdo the demon because the demon has to be more exclusive
Probably will be a Dollar Demon! I see buckets of dollars spending on this one!!
Baby demon 😂
@@theshadowking9626 I figured people wouldve just knew what I meant using their common sense, but since I have to spell it out for you.
When I say "new" I don't mean showroom-floor-with-2-miles new.
I mean one that has lower miles, is in good shape, and isn't fucking roached.
This generation of the demon is not even a decade old. So to most people it's a newer car.
If you think 5 years is a "long time" you're clueless.
11:04 "It's a solid number 2" summarizes the state of this car perfectly))
Really love these kinds of builds, take something destroyed and turn it into a work of art. Thanks for the content
Yap. I'm so used to seeing just nice cars bought. It feels really good to follow a story . Idk of you guys know but the r34 with the r35 guts. That's what hooked me to this
Taking into consideration the cars low production numbers I would treat this like a 1970 Hemi Challenger restoration and retain as much of the original car as possible replacing damaged panels and parts with OEM pieces only. It’s nicer than a classic restoration being you can still buy the parts from the dealer.
Exactly my thoughts.
It's a new age computer ran mostly plastic and recycled metal...so I disagree...it's a pile of shit. A money pit
@@dopeman420 You make a strong point. We can only hope that in the future companies sell replacement parts for these machines like they do for the cars of the past. Including the computer modules. I’m restoring a 74 Cuda for a customer right now and you wouldn’t believe how poorly that car was built originally and how much plastic it has.
Couldn't imagine trying to restore a modern challenger to this degree without dealer support, and having to rely solely on an aftermarket. The cost would make a traditional 70's challenger resto look cheap by comparison.
Year one is certified by all dealerships for restoration and can produce every part outside the unibody itself for your needs from metal parts to plastic parts and everything in between. I have used Year one since 1992 and not been told no once for something I needed. Restored a 1971 Hemi Cuda, 1972 Challenger, 1974 Road Runner and a 1970 Dart.
Looks like a U.K. vehicle following a major service received from a non-main dealer garage.
Definitely keep the chassis and engine . Donor car is a must . The car is just to rare to give up on !
Them shitboxes are not rare. Not yet. Can't wait to see them all extinct.
This is a donor car.
@@jeffreycraven8154 🤣🤣
Keep it, for what? 20-25% of that body is useable. It's worthless, it's _trash._
Rare? Lmao. No.
It would be amazing to watch you rebuild the chassis. I like watching rebuilds they’re a lot more interesting. Loads of other channels re-shell.
no you can't. you'd be constructing a chassis from scratch. the flames ruined a good 70-80% of the chassis. fire does things you can't see to the metal. i wouldn't trust it.
@@nekowife they raced the hell out of it too
why did it catch fire, im wondering if it didn't have nitrous going through the intake. the block is probably cracked all the wiring is melted im sure what a job... this is gonna be so hard to fix
@Repent and believe in Jesus Christ jesus died a long time ago, get over it
@@nekowife He isn't dead anymore.
honestly as a new viewer of these wreck rebuild videos, I wanna see y'all take on the most carnage..... thanks cant wait to see the end
Wow this is gonna need alot of work. Looking forward to a long series!
Got to admit, I appreciate & have mad respect for a man that has bigger balls than brains. Love the content as always !
Sometimes brains get bigger through these decisions where balls being bigger than brains are made.
@@brunovaldez7986 Wut
@@Elohim100 taking big risks = building experience
More like he has more money than brains.
Haven't watched the engine teardown yet, but I think it might surprise you. I'm expecting rust in the one or two cylinders that had an intake valve open, but I think the long-block will be rebuildable. Supercharger might be toast from the heat though.
Never seen a transmission like that before! My local track Milan Dragway in the Detroit area, a few yrs ago had a red Demon burn down after a burnt out. The tourqe converter apparently over heated. That engine will be fine. I have bought many LQ4 6.0L's from the junkyard, that were burned. They ran,and got sold.
You really do mean “Scrap Life” literally huh? ❤😂
Talk's cheap , fixin this hate crime BBQ job , won't be
Honestly, to say you've "out done Tavarish" with this one is an understatement. I'd get a cheap challenger and just swap the engine if I was you.
Same, this car is near gone, a completely foolish buy.
Fire fighters trying to put out the fire probably blasted the engine with the hose and that’s how the engine got full of water
That's a rebuild I'd like to see ! Nice grab man !
Rebuild it! So much fun watching it.
Money wise it may not sound great. Content wise it is fantastic.
Risks to buy vs TH-cam revenue.
Well done.
Well you already bought it so may as well go full send! Curious to see how this turns out. When I was in the car business I always made the most money on stuff everyone else was scared of but yikes what a project.
I m totally in for projects like these! To make it to the end against all odds!
Fun fact... In Greece the chassis is not regarded as a spare part, if your chassis is not fixable (or not economic viable to fix) you write off the whole car...
Aw come on really?
I understand preserving a Demon, because of the namesake, but seriously, a demon crate engine is $22k, shouldnt have paid more that $10k for this chassis.
As a forklift driver I’m gonna lose my mind if I see you underneath that car for even 1 more second while it’s on a forklift😂
Bro same every scenario that could go wrong went through my head 😂
All it takes is a seal to fail. Crunch.
Agreed! I drove a forklift @FOMOCO in the Dearborn Mustang Assembly plant 30+ years. If a hydraulic hose happened to pop, your talking downward force of about 3ft per sec. I'm glad your safe!
You guys have allot of trust on that forklift!!!! You would not catch me under that car!!!! 🤯
That thought process is easy. Safety, Performance and Clear Coat. History needs to be preserved.
bro you should have like 4M subs you deserve it. I wanna see how this demon turns out in a few months
Well this Demon came literally out of the Hellfire 🔥😈
Yes
You got this! I would estimate it to be a 100/120k rebuild series including your labor. Yolo. I’d do it if I had the skill! Best of luck!
It may have been worth that if didn't have a salvage/rebuilt title to go along with it. That alone cuts the value easily in half.
@@robertpontius1689 if he won’t sell it off after it won’t matter
This is an opportunity to showcase your vision, your skills, your team and your company so we want to see you move forward with the project!
Will the project push and challenge you? Yes, but, you have shown your ability to navigate really difficult builds that separate you from the pack
Tools and knowledge.... all you need kid
absolutely...im sure they will make a nice job...they have passion and skills...with passion you do everything
Don’t know what you plan to do but, you earned a follow - can’t wait to see this finished!
Excellent content. Sandblast the chassis black light it and repair any stress cracks. Definitely look salvageable. I would motor flush the motor, get it on an engine stand and give it some fuel spark and cooling, revolve it , change oil like 3x as long as you have strong oil pressure the piston rings may still seal for combustion. Those engines are bullet proof you may get lucky
Frankly I’m less worried about stress cracks and more worried about weakens sheet metal, if anyone has suggestions for portable sheet metal testers I’m all ears! Most of what I found tests 1/2” min.
@@scraplifegarage Just get a donor body. That thing is...no pun intended, toast. In fact, that's a good name for this project. "Toast."
sandblasting + chemical cleaning but anyway cars after fire rust like hell. Maybe a chance to safe it against the rust if use it somewhere in UAE but not sure
@@NaruSanavai donor body, donor engine, donor gears, donor front suspension and interior ;)

In essence it’s not even a bad investment if this video is monetized. We basically paid for the car! Lol
@@salvadormoncayo6879 lol we getting those much needed parts for him but i actually am happy to do that for this
The heat compacting the spring reminds me of people lowering their cars in the early 2000s where you'd clamp the springs and apply a blowtorch to mishape them lol
Great video as always guys, The Content lately is on Fire 🔥
The car was also on fire.
U neef brains
Looks like someone had a boo boo and torched the car for insurance
The engine is EVERYTHING that I would consider
Its almost Christmas time to rewatch the whole Demon series.
you def need to get ahold of junk yard dave. this and the 3000 gt will make a great calab
It takes real confidence to rebuild a car like this
Or stupidity! Don't care if Is is Demon! Not a Mopar fan to begin with. I Was with older not new.
More like foolishness, this car is beyond "rebuild" its build an entire new car.
I’m not gonna lie this build and the Tavarish p1 are the builds I’m most excited about
Man seeing that water is funny as shit
👁️👃🏻👁️
Full restoration would be cool.
I’m so glad I found this channel!
It's guys like you that keep cars like these from becoming just another KIA so props to you for the hard work and determination!!
Never driven a StingerGT2 I'm assuming.
I bought a scat pack that was burned worse than this years ago for parts. I drained the water out of the engine, put a new intake and valve covers on and have put 20k hard miles on it with no issue. I'm still using the spark plugs that came in the engine actually lol.
Your statement makes no sense. Burnt worse than that and all you did was drain water and add valcovers then put 20k miles on it? Absolutely no interior and all the dash and electronics burnt up? So tell us, was it really burnt worse?
@@shortthrow50 no I believe him I was there , I bought a Shelby GT 500 that same day and it was completely flooded . All I did was put a new intake and change the seat covers
And I’m 15k miles deep hard driven with no issue . I’m still using the car freshener that came in the car lol !
Come on, that clearly BS.
How did you make the car run with a burnt wiring harness ?
@shortthrow50 you must have missed where I said "for parts", I put the engine in another car obviously. Common sense should have been enough to figure that one out.
@@jeepkid8068 common sense people, "for parts" must have been a tough concept for you to understand.
The only problem i know you may have in keeping the chassis is the smell. I worked on these burned cars for Cleveland Power and Performance and it is impossible to get that burned smell out of the interior even when completely removed.
DIY Gang did a burnt Hellcat that was burned worse than yours. It can be done.
at that point it might aswell be easier to buy a v6 challenger rental and slap stuff into that
Parts car. You paid too much!
You just have to give it a good wash and it should be back on the road lol
Did bro say 20k for this junkyard scrap??!!
You heard bro correctly 🤠
i'd be pretty bummed about the trans. but have no idea what kind of internal engine damage could have allowed that much coolant to get in to the system. wow. hope for the best!
In the final analysis, what you have is a Demon VIN. Find a wrecked Hell Cat to salvage from, or an SXT for body panels, and you may be able to restore a Demon. $$$
I see what you did , dodge only sales demon parts to demon owners the vin is worth it 🔥
Someone exercised the demon!
Only the real car enthusiasts know that car is an absolute beast because of that open air intake right next to the headlight which means that the car was tuned and turbocharged which might have caused the engine to explode too.
I cant imagine someone buying a demon and not doing burnouts in them
You don't know any thug idiots then.
This car burn out allways yet!
You know you could have took that $20,000 and bought a regular standard Dodge Challenger that had all the good parts on it that that one has and then bought some fender flares and a Dodge demon from the dealership and probably still had a good $10,000 left over. I know for a fact that rear spoiler and tail light assembly and gas filler cap is a lot cheaper than $20,000
As someone who doesn’t know anything about cars, I don’t know how you guys even had any idea where to start on this or how to even repair it. I wish I could work for you guys so I could learn how to work on vehicles and restoring them
It's crazy but hey as long as that BLOCK is rebuild able 😎I'm for it🙌🏾.
Here’s an idea if you are continuing to keep the original body of that car just imagine real quick how sick it would be if you clear coated and preserved all of that burn rust out aesthetic kind of like how you see a lot of retro, Refab builds keep in the old rusty patina it will contribute to the story of the car imagine demon resurrection how crazy would that be? You could even name it the resurrected and maybe even add a couple crazy futuristic aesthetics as well too it kind a like the terminator type theme added to the paint scheme or some thing.
It would look ugly and dirty. It would look way nicer with a repaint. Not putting a new paint job on your car is just lazy.
You’re just one of those diehard purists and lack imagination
But hey, at least I can say that I rebuilt from the ground up to 1928 model J Duesenberg’s and sold them off at auction as a pair…. What do you have to show for it? 🤷🏻♀️
Ain’t demon without an evil soul(engine)
