Pro tip soak the heat wrap before removing, also helps when installing water doesnt let the fibers turn to dust reeking havoc on skin on top of breathing it in

Yep. I’ve found working with the really brittle wrap, mix in a bunch of “ baby magic baby bath” keeps it wet longer and makes it easier on the skin, as well as keeping it from going airborne for much longer.

This zr1 is toast, it's better 2 steer clear with scorch marks as the steel oxidizes, bury this one☠️

Most recent odometer reading for this car was 38,453 as of 11/08/2022 per Carfax.

I understand ranking each of the salvage jobs by profit dollars, but for me, I would rank the salvage jobs by percent return on invested capital. For example, the mustang returned $13.3k on a $8.4K investment. That's approximately 157% return on the $8.4k investment. Whereas, the corvette salvage only yielded an 88.5% return on the investment. Different ways of looking at it. Not saying one way is better than another, just different. I'm sure there are other things to consider, as well. For instance, the difficulty in salvaging the parts and how long it took to sell the salvaged parts. I'm sure there are other things involved that you may want to share. Btw, thanks for the content. It's informative and entertaining.
Agree. Although, if we are looking for alternatives, you could also price it based on TOTAL labor hours. (He only counts garage hours)
Hi, I love cars and I love salvage auctions! I just found your channel and I know I’m gonna be binge watching it! I love watching cars being repaired. I used to watch my dad when I was a little girl and he used to say, where’s your brother he’s the one that supposed to be watching me not you. Lol I’m still watching and my brother still isn’t but I’m glad I found your channel.
Even as a car guy used to junk and seeing a lot of burnt cars I couldnt imagine spending 15k on this. Must be nice to have money to burn

Dammit. I need to keep a sharper eye on your website. C6ZR1 gearsets can still be obtained by my dealership but the gearset alone OEM is like $2500 at an employee price.
I had an 84 Corvette that caught fire almost exactly in the same location on the driver side.
The thing that made it worse was the valve covers were made of magnesium.
You know...to save 4-oz when you have a 3400 pound car.

Most of the newer HX Pumps need to have fluid head pressure before they'll turn on. You need to connect it to a garden hose and get water flowing through it then turn on the power and see if it starts up.

anyone who’s is paying 2000$ for One front fender is getting scammed. I bought OEM Zr1 fenders for $5000 for all 4 painted. Love your videos but your adding a extra 500-1000 for each part, along with the rims they are worth around $3-4000 for the set, not $6000
I installed a Katech remote bleeder on my ZR1 without removing anything. My hand and forearm were small enough but it wasn't pleasant. I sleeved the line beginning to end with a DEI heat sleeve, 500 degrees direct touch protection, 2000 degrees radiant! Kept it as far away from heat sources as possible.
How about offering a giveaway sometimes or a raffle to win a High Performance Engine especially from a Vette? I need one for my 79 El Camino. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't hurt you at all to give a little back to the Community 🤷🏻♂️

It takes 1220 degrees to melt aluminum. That's insane how hot that got to melt that frame away like that.

Back in the day with the old engines without all the electrical stuff I would and always used headers but I would never use them on today's cars and this is why 🤔🤔🤔🤔all that HEAT doesn't mix

There is NO power steering pump..lol Steering is done by an electric motor on the rack, That is the DRY SUMP oil pump..lol

Why don't you have a 12v battery to test pumps or motors? You're putting 18v to them with those M18 batteries.... I'd imagine that's how it let out the magic smoke....

Absolute junk. Don’t sell that engine without at least without a machine shop rework. The heat and water definitely weren’t kind on the engine. I don’t know how exactly you are going to recover 15k.
so profit is how much they made on top of the cost or profit - cost? I'm unsure after looking at the board and seeing "losers" that made a $10k profit.

This was my old car what had happened was I went to another mechanic cause my mechanic was severely sick, and apparently the guy who fixed my car wasn’t really all the way up in fixing cars and he was just thrown out there to fix cars after 3 weeks. As I went and picked up my car and after 5 mins of driving it instantly got hot and I was on the highway and then I heard something pop and then my just car just caught flame I was in the fast lane and then hit the wall got out through passenger side and it just caught flame
when jacking up one end of car it folds in half then squishes down into the jack type of next project? the bolts are all perm-ah-rusted and one brakes 4 wrenches trying...
trust me i can sell you a 2023 zo6 for 11k but i promise you that car looks good compared to this one................... nothing left lol

the fact that people will pay a crap load for a burned out car and then claim to recoup or make profit just shows how dumb people really are at the bare min the engine and trans will need rebuilt so no thats not a 25k engine a crate is 16k now some are trying keyword trying to get 25k but its not happening

Im usually not impressed by allot of things but its pretty cool how all the resin burned away and left the carbon fiber mat, its honestly crazy how tough carbon fiber is.
