Ruby being so top-tier that he ducks battle. Dude was doing late game fights as a kid and beat a Salamence by himself with a Skitty and Poochyena.
Or maybe you can deal with Black, the smoke demon overflowing so much that he gets his dreams eaten in order to focus
Ruby revealing his sixth Pokemon and loading last save, X using a full mega evolution team, Rayquaza stabbing zinnia( yes Im sure of this), gold slapping green where he shouldn't be, green taunting Sabrina, regigigas vs giratina, pyrace reveal, red catching mewtwo, Mewtwo vs deoxy spoon ⚾, silver's father reveal (sad he didn't return with the milk), red's major battles

@@paperluigi6132*currently reading the manga right now* no red stayed the champion because he was kidnapped and then no one has been able to beat him and they just didn't appoint some one new... funnily enough it's lance that has disappeared by the time of good and silver
I'm all the way in the final chapter of emerald (it goes red and blue, then yellow, all kanto then gold and silver then ruby and sapphire and then fire red and leaf green and then where I'm at emerald... it the first like 3/4 of most of them are the main characters of the games adventure then a larger adventure with more of the pokedex holders (like currently it's red, blue, green, yellow, (four from kanto) gold, silver and crystal, (jhoto) ruby and sapphire (hoenn) and them emerald, they all specialize in different things like straight up battling to hatching to trading, its pretty interesting and i cant wait to start dp
If I had a nickel for every time Red's been frozen in ice, I would have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
He's also been frozen in stone as well.

So glad to see Pokémon Adventures getting some recognition. I used to check it out from my local library and was shocked at how brutal, hardcore and badass Pokémon of all things was
Yah. I read alot of them when I was younger. Pokémon adventures' fights are really damn cool and kinda dark at times. It also was the reason I had a new found respect for venasaur. Now he's my favorite starter from that region. I always wanted to finish the whole series I just might now.
This is why I wish they would animate this series.

@@Animebryan2but we should convince them to not only not tone down the more intense scenes, but also keep them in the localized versions. Maybe have them market it as something made for older, more mature fans of the series. And if necessary, lock it behind a parental controls feature in Pokémon TV, complete with a disclaimer that the series is not intended for younger viewers to minimize Karen (not the good Karen from Pokémon) outrages.

Bruno is just one of those characters in anime who want a good fight no matter what. So he joined up with the E4 with the promise of having an all out fight with Red, which he got. He didn't know the other E4 were gonna interrupt the ones. So while his actions are definitely Immoral, he's not really evil.
He is whammu equivalent in pokemon

Shame that the arcs after Unova had to start getting cranked out at a ridiculous speed to keep up with the Pokemon franchise's equally breakneck pace. Now the arcs are getting shorter instead of getting to show off what makes every region great...

To make a point for Bruno even though he didn't agree with Lances' plan, it's still quite obvious that he cares about Pokemon a lot and probably also agrees wth the man motivation of the rest of the E4, that the environments Pokemon live should be better protected, it's really just the part where Pokemon and humans should be sperated where Bruno disagrees. Like, the dude definitely had his reasons to be part of the E4, it's just that after being defeated he had no reason to stay and watch the whole thing potentially blow up, and the reason Red and the others just let him go would thus probably be because having heard his reasoning they concluded that he was unlikely to continue with the actions the E4 commited so they had bigger fish to fry, dragons to slay or whatever.

Considering he was literally mind-controlled half of the time, I wouldn't be surprised if he just didn't know how many bad things they did and just thought they'd battle the champion and show the world compassion or some shit

It's why I had a new found respect for Venasaur.
Just wanted point out that Onix is pretty strong in game too. I cleared several gyms with Onix when I found out I needed to trade him with metal coat.

Giovanni also used a Cloyster to freeze some Magmar before shattering them, then during the Black and White series most of the gym leaders got fricking crucified, Zinnia nearly got impaled by Rayquaza in Ruby and Sapphire, it's kinda excessive how violent the Pokémon mangas are, and the ones that aren't are either borderline or straight up h3nta1.

I got this at a library over a decade ago and re-read it so many times, its sick to see it being talked about today
I remember one of the first tiimes i read adventures as a kid this series is just too good i need an anime adaption
It has to be said that the Elite 4 of the manga and anime are infinitely more powerful than their game counterpart, considering the master of Kanto and one of the most powerful trainer struggled and was pretty much unable to defeat even Bruno. Hust 1 of the Elite 4.

I was always aware of Red but Ash was always way more popular but I wondered how different he was from Red. Never knew about this manga either but just from how different and evil the elite four are has me way more interested in it
Ash is exclusive to the anime, but you play as Red in the original Pokemon Red & Blue. Then, when you play Gold, Silver or Crystal, you can actually fight him as the true last boss on top of Mt. Silver, he even has a Lv. 80 Pikachu & all 3 Kanto Starters, fully evolved, at around Lv. 75-77. Then he also has Snorlax & Espeon.

Yea, the different protagonist are chosen by the professors because of their different talent.
Red in this story is known as the best Battler; He is a battle junky and is supposedly the most strategic when in comes to Pokemon battles.
His rival Blue, is the best trainer; As in training the Pokemons themselves.
I actually love the jumps and seeing that not everyone really wants to be a champion; They all have different goals.

I mean... Kanto would be easy for me too if I had an Eevee that can have a type advantage at any time during battle.
There was a pokemon red adventure rom hack and the Eevee wasn't as useful as expected,if anything polywrath and Porygon we're two of the most op Pokemon on his team(I'm not sure if he kept the Porygon in the manga though......)

Also, yeah, Bruno got off easy, Ha. Only in manga and anime, my friend. Only in manga and anime! And he becomes a good guy later on. One rule in anime and manga is that the guy who tries to kill you will become your friend later. Both Mewtwo from here and the anime are good examples. Also, some Dex Holders Pokemon tried to kill their before being caught.
I really liked this video, my mom got me one of the books in the series when I was a kid and surprised of how different it was, one day I hoped to get another book but never did. This video really made me happy to see! Thank you!

It's only just now dawning on me that Eevee's little evolve/devolve thing was probably the inspiration for It's Mega Evolution in Pokémon Insurgence but cranked up to 11, maybe 12 even. Has access to all 8 Eeveelutions as well as an extra normal type one and switches between them depending on the type of move it uses.

@@VeeVolt I recommend it, it's pretty FAT experience and has great story as far as the "dark story" is concerned. Gives you two story options at the start, normal and dark. Normal is more in line with official Pokémon games (I think, never played that option myself and haven't seen any TH-camrs do it), while dark is, well, dark. The evil teams are more like (actually straight up CALLED) cults and there is genuine unadulterated de-aliving of people, surprisingly it's not that edgy despite my description.
Also just a quick blurb, since you're a fan of the Adventures manga, you should check out a fangame called Pokémon Adventures Red Chapter if you haven't already, it's also a pretty thick game and stays true to the manga with some extra things tacked on, including some custom new Pokémon such as a mutated failed clone of a Mareep called Dolly which is a reference to the fact that the first ever living organism to be cloned in real life was a sheep named Dolly (forget whether it was the original or the clone that was named Dolly, but either way it's pretty neat).

This manga made me a pokemon fan, and then I discovered the anime and I was kinda confuse and dissatisfied that the anime is not like in the manga(I like the anime especially the xy)

The Elite 4 are all abnormally strong, and Lance is even several leagues (pun intended) above them.
The biggest reason Red lost to Bruno, Agatha, and Lorelei was Hitmonchan using 3 different elemental punches. And Bruno had a field advantage with them being in a rocky terrain.
Without all of that, it's likely the 3v1 battle would've ended in a tie. Assuming Lorelei didn't place ice shackles on Red, too.
It wasn't meant to be a fair fight especially considering that Red is generally considered the strongest single trainer in a no-holds-barred battle in the entire series (only Emerald has the edge in officiated battles). They definitely didn't pull any punches with that ambush and even then he almost managed to escape.

@@VeeVolt In the DPPT chapters Sird still complains about the wound on her leg from Lorelei's ice shackle. It's such an OP ability, Ditto's Transform and Starmie's Camouflage are some of the only ways to beat it.

@@VeeVolt honestly I was surprised how much my library had. We even had Shojo manga and the elusive Kingdom Hearts manga if you were lucky enough to catch it. Which for the maybe 2010s was like an oasis in the desert type of lucky

When I read vol.6 I was in Gr.6 and it was really shocking to me
Group of guys calling themselves Elite Four (or Four Heavenly Kings in my language) lure 13 years old kid and gang on him, make sure he can't even move, then the kick on the stomach to push him down the cliff, and freezing his whole body....OMG...and then even chase after his Pikachu...I was desperately hoping for Red isn't really hurt and would comeback somehow
I still think this deserved an anime adaptation for older kids and leave Ash/Liko’s journeys for younger kids.
