I remember reading something about Maurice Greene walking in the streets with a friend in Sydney during the 2000 Olympics. Some thief snatched the bag to Maurice's friend and ran off. I can only imagine the shock in his face when he turned around and saw the world's fastest man chasing behind him, lol
I have been making jokes like this for a while. Like the a robber goes back to his robber friends and says “YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHO I TRIED TO ROB TODAY”
They lucky it wasn't Usain Bolt, because he would've pulled a Barry Allen by getting into the passengers seat, scolded them, then put them in cuffs and give the phone back within 0.4 seconds
Found out about this on NPR when they referenced him as one of the greatest middle distance runners of all time. Nah man he’s one of the greatest RUNNERS of all time
People might not believe this but it's a good story. I'm a Sophomore in High School, and I was sitting my my house porch with a friend of my, and our parents, when we heard a loud crashing sound. A car had hit the side mirror of my neighbor's car, and had driven off. I happened to have my running shoes on, because I was play tennis with the friend, so I just use my running shoes for that. I immediately was like, "damn i can catch that car" so I grabbed my phone from inside, and chased after the car. It turned on a street that had some traffic, so it took a while for it to turn and I, since I knew it was a one-way, took a turn through a park. I barely missed the car, but continued chasing after it, where it sped ahead and turned. I ran after it had turned, but it was long ahead and I watched it turn onto another street. Fearing I wouldn't catch it, I raced as fast as a could, and I realized that the car was pulled off to the side for some reason. I quickly look a photo of the license plate and realize that the car belong to a DRIVING SCHOOL / STUDENT DRIVER CAR. Yep. A driving school. I sent the photo to my mom, who sent it to my very grateful neighbor. (I'm not a super fast runner, but I probably ran like 3/4 of a mile, and my 800 pr is 2:24.) License plate of the car: X53 279 It's a blue KIA
USA: “Mo Farah’s Phone Was stolen & He Caught The Escape Car On Foot” UK: “Mo Farah’s Phone Was stolen & He Caught The Escape Car On . . . Centimetre? Metre?
Things like traffic lights turning red and vans not being super quick off the mark make this sound plausible. I wonder if Mo can still break 50 seconds for 400m. The way the story is told it sounds like he shamed them rather than forced them into giving his phone back. It sounds like they weren't exactly hardcore thieves.
We have AI now, so we make the footage (so, on third try it got something funny - he not only returned his phone, but also, stole the driver's phone as well)
Mmmmmm. London traffic is horrendous regardless of neighbourhood. What would he have done if he caught them? He is built like the side of a £10 note. But a great runner

It's his phone though. Some cowards took it so he confronted them. Thieves like that are more afraid of people who will stand up for themselves. I'd do the same thing Mo did like "give me that before something happens to you." I've seen a group of guys bigger than me be scared of me before even though I wasn't a threat. Bunch of cowards. You want people like that to get away with this stuff because you're afraid they might hurt you instead of being afraid you might have to hurt them?
they snatched his phone from where he left it? im sorry but this sounds sketchy to me, if u take ur phone to go jogging u dont leave it anywhere if ur on ur own, and if someone was with him why didnt he give them his phone? nah sorry but this all sounds a little publicity stunt-esque to me tbh
just a BS story really - Usain bolt at max speed can only run 27 mph (and maintain it for less than 20 metres)..... I am sure Mo is slower than Bolt and if the Van wasn't blocked it could easily do 30mph.... therefore only way he caught it would be if it was stuck at lights or traffic and a 10 yr old could have caught it. To put it into context, to run a 10 sec 100m you have to average about 22 mph (22.3694mph). I guess people will say anything for TH-cam if it can make money! (and why not, people listen and believe anything nowadays)
@@lloydgrose Yeah this guy doesn't sound like he runs around neighborhoods a lot, even here in the US I see some runners who can keep up with cars going ~20 in a neighborhood.

I remember hearing a story of Mo Greene having something stolen from him at an airport and he ran them down.

0:54 No, just British traffic lol
Let’s go! You made the video!!!!
No traffic because it was his local neighbourhood, man has no idea about local UK traffic 🤣
If this was London, I could have caught the van on foot as well. I suspect the average traffic speed there is no more than light stroll pace!
They lucky it wasn't Usain Bolt, because he would've pulled a Barry Allen by getting into the passengers seat, scolded them, then put them in cuffs and give the phone back within 0.4 seconds
Mo farahs a legend

Yeah maybe he should try out for the World Championships in Tokio next year. He Is a great runner.
Some say the van is plotting revenge, and even trying to find loopholes on how to enter into Mo's next track and field meet as a competitor.
Mo is a beast let's make him a "Lord"
Revelation 13:16-18

Some residential areas in the uk have 10mph speed limits. Traffic also pretty slow and stop start in London as well.

Speed limit in those neighborhoods is like 10 mph.
Yeah because criminals always carefully follow speed limits while driving away from the scene of a crime.
