I'm having a difficult time getting past A17. It feels like I'm bashing my head against a wall for no reason. Every single run I play, I never make it past Act 2. I don't get why the game's difficulty ramps up so much between A16 and A17. I think I need to find something else to play/do to take my mind off this self-imposed challenge of getting to A20 by StS 2.
Probably a good idea, tonnes of great games to play and spire will always be there when you feel like coming back to it. When that time comes though, I'll repeat (although not verbatim) what Baalor has said in the past. A16-20 ARE quite frankly unfair. And he was several thousand hours in iirc before his preference changed from usually playing at A15. I think one of his past suggestions was that if you're able to fairly consistently get back to back A15 Heart wins, and want a more brutal challenge, then it might be time to increase ascension level. But no matter what. There's no point in playing a game if it's not fun. If it's stopped being fun, definitely a good time to try some of the other awesome games out there. Hope you have fun ❤
yeah I feel you. just be patient, eventually you get a good enough high roll seed to brute force it. this game is so unfair, you tend to forget when watching Baalor because he is so damn good at it.
If you're playing with Silent on A17, she has the hardest time getting through Act 1. Lagavulin and especially gremlin knob are BRUTAL against the Silent's low initial damage output and reliance on skills
Without knowing more about your gameplay i can only guess you have the same trouble that other players have at that level. Usually people struggle with the tempo fights in act 2 and they die to bosses sometimes because they don't find the stuff that they are familiar with. Also sometimes the decision making and playing the actual combats is a struggle too. I'd recommend to play when you want to challenge yourself or you just want to experiment with strategies you havn't tried before without caring if the run wins or loses. Just enjoy this masterpiece of a game ❤
