It's allowed to mix jet fuel with diesel in the tank? For example: one airport has only jet fuel, on the next landing airport you can have only diesel - there is no problem?
Hello, good question!
In airports it will be most likely Jet-A1 everywhere, but might be no AVGAS and Diesel :)
What you CAN NOT use is an AVGAS, but you find Jet-A1 fuel almost everywhere.
If you don’t have Jet-A1 or Diesel in the airport - you have to visit car petrol station and use normal diesel ⛽️. There is a temperature limitation for using car diesel and it says it is not permitted taking off solely on a diesel fuel.
However it is less likely you end up in an airport without Jet-A1 🙂

@@tdgdbs1 There are significant differences between road diesel fuel and Jet A1. In the case of the Tecnam the only significant one is the freezing/gelling temperature of diesel being much higher than A1, but for actual jet engines there are a number of issues that make diesel unsuitable.
its the same thing but one is more refined. You can use the more refined jet fuel on diesels but its not recommended the other way around
@@tdgdbs1 - Not precisely but close. Automotive diesel is packed full of detergeants and additives designed to prevent carbon build up due to constant stopping, starting, fluctuating RPMs. Jet A does not have these, as aircraft tend to operate at mostly static RPMs, where burn off is clean and carbon deposits rare. However Jet A *does* have additives that concern temperature stability, that are not present in automotive diesel.

What a neat set up being diesel. Jet A is not available at my airport but diesel 1 right around the corner. Would be easy for me to fill the tank in the pickup and use that to fuel the plane. Thank you for sharing the video.
Absolutely, but JETA1 is more spread around big airports, if you fly around those ones

Price reduction will take some time, when new model is out - price hors down :)

Don't do that! I think that can work but there's a big problem. The freezing point on the Jet fuel is lower. So prevent frozen fuel line who can stop engine in low temperature condition.

HI Konstantin, enjoyed this Ferry Flight video Part 2. With a Diesel engine on an airplane do you need special Diesel Jet Fuel? I think that guy that climbed so fast on takeoff was a Special Aerobatic Stunt plane. I'm surprised they were doing stunts so close to the airport after takeoff. Nice to see the different parts of Germany from the air.

So you need aviation Jet - A1, but you can use car diesel ⛽️. However it is not allowed to take off with the tank filled with diesel fuel only and there are limitations on low temperatures for the flight.
But Jet - A1 can be found at 95% of airports these days, so no issue to refuel :)
You are right, that’s an aerobatic plane, i was just kidding, wondering why people do that at all 😀

Awesome video video again captain. I ferried a new Tecnam owner to the dealership in Stadtlohn once. We tried to fly back to our home airport in a loose formation. However the denty old Cessna I flew in was too slow for the shiny and smooth P2010 😆😆. Awesome memory though.

Really love your videos ! Always enjoying . Happy landings ! Ps: I prefer Rotax and see hard times coming for AvGas. Flying Diamond Aircrafts, we use Mogas, Jetfuel. No Avgas any more
I think that these types of engines offer GA the best opportunities for sustainability. Mo gas and av gas are becoming more and more difficult. There are presently seveal aircraft manufacturers testing out turbine engines for GA aircraft and this hold alot of promise. Turbotech is one of the most promising.

I thought that the best solution was Extra500 - single engine turboprop, but the price of a turbine engine plane is not affordable for 80% of private flyers :(
Therefore i see that future of GA - Diesel engine powered airplanes, at least for Europe.

Great Job ! Hopefully one day we could fly world wide with Jet A. Europe, Africa and South America long for it. China is looking forward to it. Time will tell, but americans are not fond it... What is your impression on the performance of this diesel engine in that particular plane ? Would an extra 50 /80 horse power make a great difference?

Yeah, not so many manufacturers produce these engines, just Conti and Austro to my knowledge, but in Europe that will be the future i would say.
The plane performed quite well, I think it needs no more power, however, i did not test it myself at the MTOW to feel the performance 🤔
The USA is extremely conservative and not so willing to embrace new technologies in general aviation. There are many airplanes (such as the Diamond DA20 and DA40) that are sold with modern TDI engines in Europe, where USA customers insist these modern engines are replaced with old 1950s-designed, inefficient Continental and Lycoming engines! It's crazy! At least Continental are developing TDI engines (the Diamond DA-50RG is fitted with a Continental CDI-300 engine). Lycoming are dinosaurs, still living in the 1950s! 😄

Love your content.. been following u for some time now.. What an awesome plane, just wondering about the useful load, can it carry 4 people and baggage with full fuel or we gonna have issues with our weight and balance? Thank u

Almost no airplane can have max fuel and load on board.
Full fuel would already give you max take off weight limit. Why would you need 9 hours of fuel? You take 3,5 hours fuel (plus 0.5 hour reserve) and then you van have 4 POB with small bags.

Sorry for the late answer. As per AFM (had to look it up): Glide ratio is about 11.5, therefore in zero wind
conditions for every 1000 ft it is possible to cover about
2 NM. With propeller in windmilling glade ratio is about
9.3, therefore for every 1000 ft it is possible to cover
about 1.5 NM i hope that helps :)

Новый самолет стоит недешево, нужно рассчитывать примерно на полмиллиона евро. Но еще более «неприятным» может быть время ожидания выпуска самолета с конвейера.
НЕ дизельная версия может быть довольно таки дешевой, но и авионика старее.
Нужно прежде всего понимать цели полетов, ну и бюджет, а тогда уже подбирать самолет :)
А поддержанный но в хорошем состоянии сколько стоит? Я не могу долго ждать. И можете написать можно эксплуатировать зимой при минусовой температуре?
Подержанный дизельный не будет намного дешевле. Если брать с бензиновым двигателем - в районе 250.000€. Зимой можно, конечно, если нет условий обледенения.

@@KFEAviaThat‘s entirely their problem! And as far as I am concerned that is how it should stay. If they don‘t like it, they have the right and freedom to not eat meat. I‘m a dentist and part of my university education is to learn about all mammals, their tooth scheme and their digestive tracts. Show me your teeth and I can tell you what food nature has adapted our forefathers to. In our case we are meant to be able to eat anything we can kill, plant or find along the way that is not in itself poisonous! Was that Serrano ham from Italy? I hope you have eaten it with a big smile and savored the exquisite taste and texture!
@@berndheiden7630 - I would say that you have your "uncomprimising opinions" but our friend Konstantin was just being sensitive and understanding towards those who choose not to eat meat. That shows intelligence and empathy. As I see it, the problem with meat is not in consuming it, but in our inefficient (and often cruel) farming methods. Where it takes fields and fields of crops to feed animals that will then be eaten. You may dismiss things like animal cruelty, but many others do not and they are sensitive to issues like this.

And for me there is no compromise on facts! A discussion where facts are subject to individual „opinions“ seems to be en vogue but is absolutely useless.

Вообще концептуально - да. Все зависит от того, какого плана и в какой местности, ну и важно сколько человек будет летать…
Какой лучше брать самолёт Tecnam P2010TDI или Tecnam P2006?
Это ведь разные самолеты, двухмоторный и одномоторный. Вам сколько человек возить и на какие расстояния? Над морем/горами или равниной? Есть ли в доступе AVGAS/JET A-1?
@@KFEAvia я понял. Я имею ввиду у них дальность разная. И 210 три на авиационной керосин а он дешевле и везде есть. Удобнее и выгоднее на нем путешествовать

Лучше подбирать самолет по потребностям, не по цене и красоте :)
