    Thank you!! I don’t know anything about wood. I have driftwood that I love and want to use keeping the natural look. What do you think about matte finish? Is so difficult to find videos like this! 😅

    Do you after applying the wax buff it or just let it dry?

      Hi! Thanks for reaching out! Depends on the look I want to achieve and certainly on the texture of the wood as well. What project are you working on? Share please!

    49er's fan here but I still subscribed! Enjoyed your video, you and your sons music! Liked how you explained what you were doing and why. Also plain on trying the stain you recommended.

    Thank you for sharing this video. What do you think of bleaching the wood? I have a piece of wood with a lot of natural stain on it. Some parts are darker than others. I am hesitant to sand them as they are delicate parts, what would you recommend?

    • @JDUB-Woodworks
      @JDUB-Woodworks  หลายเดือนก่อน

      you are certainly welcome and thank you for checking out my videos and my channel. I do not delete bleach my Driftwood however I recognize that in some uses it’s needed. I don’t mind the different tones of the wood on one piece even if I’m not putting a sealant on it because it’s perfect really. You might try a higher grit sandpaper and just do it by hand very gently. Let me know how that works out for you.

    Hey man...Nice job. I recently started collecting and working on pieces myself and appreciated your video (liked and sub'd)...I just have a question if you get a moment. I was taught to "sanitize" the pieces in a mild bleach solution first to ensure all parasites are neutralized etc... even if it's not for a fish tank which I guess some people boil. Am I wasting my time? It's an extra step in the process and longer drying time that I would like to be able to avoid if possible. Any help is appreciated. Keep up the good work, I enjoyed your video. Thanks

      hey Bill, thank you so much for reaching out and thank you incredibly for your subscription and kind words. Great question by the way, and one that I get asked occasionally. in my opinion, it really depends on what your drift what’s gonna be used for as well as the current condition of the piece and how you’re going to finish and seal the piece. I have some pieces on my wall that were super dry and just needed some sanding and ceilings so I didn’t bleach those, I’ve had others that have been covered in algae and super wet and those sometimes don’t need to be bleached. Sometimes they do it all about. It’s all about the and the final purpose of the product. Hope this helps man keep the comments coming. I’m working on a couple of videos now on the editing taking me forever so stay tuned. Thanks again.

    Did you forget your face mask or is inhaling algae part of the process..?

    Well the information I was looking for in this video you never told like the grid of sandpaper that you use throughout the entire video or the metal brushes that you were using that you didn't explain that you were using I think that next time if you would tell people the tools that you're using be a lot more helpful than just watching you

      Hey, thank you very much for the comments and you know what you’re absolutely right. Sometimes after you post you realize that when you’re doing your editing and things like that so I will make sure and include that moving forward because I know that that’s important to my viewers and subscribers Again thank you for the feedback

      Take a look at the channel. I think you’ll find it. I do cover that in a couple of the other videos but now that I’m thinking about it maybe I should do one that focuses specifically on those types of questions. Great idea.
