Who doesnt love the great outdoors being by a river or lake full of driftwood and beautiful river rocks?
There are so many benefits to being outside. Excersize is so important to us all and what better way to source then to have fun and not having to spend any money doing it.
I am preparing a few pieces of the driftwood I found to make some decor. People us driftwood for many things and before use its very important that the driftwood and rocks you plan on selling are clean and free from insects.
There are so many fun ways to make money selling driftwood online. Selling driftwood can become very addicting once you get into a routing of preparing it for sale.
As resellers most of us love selling everything especially if there is money to be made.
I am NOT a professional. Please do your research. Some woods are very toxic.

I live on the upper area of Chesapeake Bay that's fed with drift wood from a few rivers. I now see dollars signs as the drift wood is everywhere. Thanks for the info!

I'm in Mobile, AL and have found a bunch of spots where the driftwood is pushed onto shore from the bay. Feels like finding a gold mine.... sorta. Doing everything alone while taking care of my elderly father.
bless your heart, you are doing the right thing , i feel your struggle. My mom lives with me, and I am single too. As hard as it is at this time, it's like gold in your pocket when they are gone. A very bittersweet time, but afterwards ,all I remember about that time with my Dad was the sweet.
This is oddly famaliar as Im in Boston, MA. and collect all sorts of items, and now able to work on all the stuff I have collected, and prepped over the last few years. But I too am taking care of my mother, and my parents had a spacious house, and built an apartment above garages for my little brother, who then never really ended up moving in there. So years later, I have to help Mom-dukes(weird nickname, haha) so have turned that apartment into my art studio. plus the garage spaces, its a lot of room. I am constently on the hunt, while I drive to her house /my studio. but you would be surprised how tight it can get when Im collecting and work on various stuff from mother nature., hahaha. Finally able to focus on it, and we slip into a recession, F'n A !!!! LOL Stay Smilin!!!!
@@doingitdavy1507 Just keep doing your thing. Do it for your enjoyment and try not to hope it will sell. I started taking really amazing pieces of driftwood and making necklaces and candle holders. Sometimes I will set up a booth at the monthly art walk, sometimes I give them away to friends, sometimes i;ll even get an order for some from local shops. Its not gonna pay the bills but it keeps me happy/busy and makes other people happy then i guess its worth all worth it. You keep smiling too, and my name is also Dave. haha
I'm pretty close to Mobile. I'm collecting wood and taking care of my adult disabled son. I found a jackpot shallow, wide stream! Now I need to learn to sell!!! I have huge pieces.

Hello, Thanks for the video, I just found your channel last night after you made a comment on the auction professors channel, growing a channel takes time and I hope you stick with it, one thing that can help is making comments on other channels , a lot of people like me read an interesting comment and check to see if they are a creator. Something else that can help us being a guest on another channel or interviewing another channel on your channel. But anyways thanks for the video it gave me some ideas about sourcing I haven’t thought of before.

I live along the Arkansas River and I get drift driftwood all the time and I have a lot in my yard I didn't realize how much you get out of driftwood.I just started looking for driftwood about 2 months ago..

I have been brushing my wood while I'm cleaning it so it wet at the time. I see that your brushing it the day after cleaning it dry.. Should I wait till its dry? Dose it make a difference? Thank you! I'm doing my research...lol

Where exactly do you sell this? I've Been collecting for years just bc I think it's beautiful. I'm ready to sell some beautiful pieces but I'm not sure exactly where to sell to get the most bang for a buck. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Hi, I dont anymore because where I would get the driftwood was pretty far away to be of decent profit.

Maybe if your into sharing more start a Fb group and Instagram and start sharing tips and or your pieces to gain exposure to possibly bring sales.
If you do on Ebay..do some research of other listings etc to help you get an idea of sold prices, keywords etc. I wish you the best.🌸

My question is when gathering driftwood, how can you tell what kind of wood it is?

Burning driftwood for firewood is not toxic, you'd have to burn it in a blast furnace at 1500 degrees Celsius to change the salt into anything harmful.

@@PastLifePickins I collect driftwood here in New Zealand for firewood, I put aside any pieces that are suitable for artwork. It's amazing what you can find this way.

Isnt drift wood illegal in the US? Obviously if no one sees you do it no problem but if you sell it doesnt that red flag you automatically. Perhaps is not a nation wide law but i couldve sworn someone said it was. Maybe is per state?

Hi I recently retrieved a massive and beautiful piece of driftwood from Lake Martin, AL. It’s huge! How should I got about cleaning and preparing it for decor? It’s too large to fit in a pot to boil it. Is it ok to pressure wash or will that destroy it?

How Would you prep a piece of drift wood that is Over 3ft long , and you cant Boli it BECAUSE it's too Big "??

Bet if you find good sturdy drift wood, we could cut a flatting and make a wooden landscape, as a artist who worked with hot glue, clay, having a place for my art to exiat was nice. :) also new to this all, haha, saw someone else do it and looked it up as a joke, now im serious
