      Great question! I haven’t found an app for iPad specifically, but check out my video on ‘how to run backing tracks with video’ and that might give you some ideas!

    I've been using Multitracker for over 2 years and it's amazing. Looking forward to updates hopefully including a lyric prompter.

    Thanks. How do I mix my voice, without the latency of bluetooth using this app, and output wirelessly over wi-fi?

      That’s quite the request! I’m going to need to know a little more about your setup, as this is only a backing track player app rather than a DAW so I’m not sure would take an input from a microphone.
      My first thought is to consolidate it to a a mixer, and then output the mixer to a PA. So iPad playing tracks into channel 1, and your microphone into channel 2, for example.

      @@DrumElectric Thanks. I misunderstood what this was. I thought I would be able to mix my voice input with the backing track on the iPad.

    Great job!!! I have owned other backing track apps, and this one remains the best. There is a new version that has a lot of added features that will be released sometime in the fall of this year! Thanks for the video!!

      Hello there do you have any idea what updates and added features are being added ? I hope he adds a lyric scroll or prompt which would be amazing for me .

      @@stevierocks247 Yes, he is adding lyric scroll, bpm and pitch change, a new functional mixer like the current one, but he may not have crossfading just yet. The challenges to changes in the handling of audio in the latest IOS releases are what is hanging him up and he will not release the update until it is consistently working. The ST3 mixer is an example of work-arounds that are not acceptable to more professional performers, and Sebastian doesn't want to create another solo/duo-type backing track app player like ST3, but wants to create something closer to Ableton Live Standard-like for iPad. I am glad Sebastian is back in the game. His Multitracker app is superior to other players, and has been the bread and butter which has made a good living for performing musicians. I can keep you updated on what he is up to between now and fall of 2024.

      @@stevierocks247 He is adding lyric scroll, pitch and BPM change and is retaining the amazing mixer view (with a different look). Truly the best backing track app for full bands. ST3 is great for solo/duos, and is feature rich, but not powerful enough for full bands and people who make a living with backing tracks. The reason for delay is that IOS currently has changed the way it handles audio, so, Sebastian is working hard to address all of that. I am so glad he is back in the game!

    Can I ask please - I'm a novice- Backing tracks on an iPad - to get the best quality out the tracks does my iPad volume button need to be right up to max 100 percent or will this distort the sound ? Thanks

      Great question! You can put the iPad at 100 and there’ll be no problem at all. I like to put it at a little over half way, that way the sound engineer can get a good level and there’s some headroom for more if they need it

      Thanks for that . Out of all the You Tube videos on here your the only one that's answered this question ! Thanks so much for that !

    Why is the interface needed? Could I go directly from the iPad straight into mixer via DI?

    • @DrumElectric
      @DrumElectric  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Just for the flexibility of outputs and as the iPad in the video doesn’t have a headphone jack, it means I don’t have to worry about the USB-C to Jack connector being noisy from the iPad being charged at the same time. You could absolutely go direct though, if that’s what your setup needs!

    Does this method work with an old soundcard which doesn’t have a usb c port?

    • @DrumElectric
      @DrumElectric  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you get a USB-A to USB-C cable it should be fine, as you’re only transferring the backing tracks onto the iPad

    Great vid mate. We have been using Multi-Tracker 2.2 for a couple of years with the stems being created in Garage band. The only things is that we get some cross talk from the click into the front of house. I pan my clicks to the right and tracks to the left but it seems you do the opposite? Would this make any difference?

    • @DrumElectric
      @DrumElectric  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’ve also had some cross talk issues with the click! It seems to be better when I don’t pan them and do it out of separate outputs of an audio interface. In terms of which side to pan them, doesn’t matter at all! Clicks to the right and tracks to the left is also great!

    One thought. Why are you saving 2 separate tracks 1. Click 2. Backing Tracks - and just save STEREO file? Or is that a limitation of Multitracker being able to load stereo files left and right? Also, I noticed you are saving PCM format. The file size much larger vs. MP3 file. Can you export and use MP3 files? The obvious would be to get a high disc capacity iPad, but hoping for a work around as I have 16GB iPads. Having stem tracks could add up especially if you are playing 30-50 songs a night (cover band). Is adding an external flash drive option possible and load the stems from it to Multi-tracker?

    • @DrumElectric
      @DrumElectric  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I’m understanding you right - the reason for saving is just purely because you can select the different outputs in the app. You can absolutely just save it as a stereo file and do it as you’re saying to save space. Same with the file type - MP3 is absolutely fine!
      I haven’t tried an external hard drive yet, but I do know the iPads work with them (I’ve used a 2TB one before), I just haven’t used them with this app
