I just got one today! This has to be one of the nicest bibles I’ve ever owned! It’s a big bible with nice font size! The references at the bottom are nice and large! I’ve started transitioning to the NKJV! It’s a wonderful translation! This will become my everyday carry for sure! Love your videos Tim!
Awesome review! I got this Bible in brown leathersoft and I colored the page edges in red. It just made the red inside the pages just pop out! Now if TN would make their KJV Sovereign collection also wide margin, I would be a happy camper. My personal opinion, their secret ingredient is the comfort print text. In any size, somehow it is easy to read. Again, another fantastic review!
That is awesome! I actually just sat down with Tim Frisch to discuss the Comfort Print typefaces... watch the first episode here: th-cam.com/video/i3Qq0sNWyO4/w-d-xo.html
I think out of all the bibles you've reviewed, this is my favorite. I've pared down my bible collection over the past year, but due to some medical issues, have had to adjust the format of what I read. Definitely putting this at the top of my wishlist. Awesome review! Thank you for being thorough!
Hi Tim. My new NKJV large print wide margin Bible just arrived. I can’t believe how beautiful this brown bonded leather edition is and at this affordable price. Thank you so much for introducing us to this perfect Bible.
I love your reviews! I ordered this one. I watch Bible study YT videos by Skip Heitzig & he uses the NKJV, so it’s easy to follow by using the same Bible. I have a beautiful NKJV Schuyler, but there isn’t too much room for notes, so this one will fill that spot! Thx Tim!
Yes, please do that side by side with the Cambridge…I am trying to decide between the two. I am looking for a large print bible for preaching, a wide margin for study and a compact for traveling. I am thinking all three in Nelson, or Cambridge. Thanks for the great vids.😊
I have a Thomas Nelson premier Bible & it’s really nice! I just ordered this one!! I love my Schuylers, but for the difference in price this one is excellent!! I highly recommend it!
I prefer center column references. My eyes have a problem keeping my place while looking at the bottom of the page to find the corresponding reference. Old age I guess, but this Bible, though lovely, doesn't meet my requirements other than being the comfort print and verse by verse. Your reviews are always very helpful and informative Tim. Thank you for sharing. :)
Hi Tim, Do you know where I can find a copy of the bible you reviewed above? I’ve looked extensively and cant locate a copy. Does Thomas Nelson have any plans to do another printing of this? Thanks, RIchard
Thanks for the review! My impression of this Bible is that it would be fantastic to read from and to study from, but not one to take notes in. It has two columns of text but only one wide margin per page. So how are you supposed to take notes for the inside column? As far as I'm concerned, the gutter margin is just the bare minimum that all bibles should have so the text doesn't get lost there. The font is beautiful, the paper is nice, the opacity is excellent, and the layout is luxurious and restful to the eye. It's really awesome that they include a concordance, the translation notes, and the reading plan. All of these things make for a wonderful book to study from, as long as you're taking your notes on a separate notebook. I don't like red letter text on principle, it can communicate the incorrect idea that some of Scripture is more special than the rest. I agree with your assessment that the execution of the red letter text in this edition is particularly well done The maps are.. forgettable. But they're there and sometimes that's enough. Thanks for reading. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Christian! This might not be the perfect Bible for detailed note taking on every column, but I certainly think it will be a great reference/study Bible for a lot of folks.
Please can you compare the NKJV wide margin Bible of Cambridge and Thomas Nelson. According to you, which is your favourite from them both. Is there any other wide margin NKJV Bibles too.
I just received my new NKJV wide margin Study Bible with large print. I received my theology degree in 1984 and I have owned several study Bibles. I have generally been disappointed in the Nelson Bibles in the past due to their poor workmanship and lack of durability. So far, I am very pleased with the Bible but the paper does seem a bit thin, even though it is high quality. I noticed I have to be very careful marking it with prismacolor colored pencils or the paper will get damaged. There are some marking pens that will bleed through, even though it is claimed they won't? I also prefer the center-column reference notes. On a scale of 1 to 10, however, I give it a 9.5.
Great thorough review! This is a great study Bible. I have the same one in NASB; very large and heavy Bible, but, great for using on a desk or table. I think Zondervan has really upped the quality of their Bible’s, and I think there ribbons are the best I have seen in comparison to other Bible’s. Thanks for sharing, and I love your very thorough reviews on your blog!✝️
Hello, I have searched and call about this Bible and have not been able to find one. Amazon says "Currently not available". Any ideas for new or slightly used. Any help greatly appreciated
I was going to get the Premier version, but decided on the leather soft in black. I got it yesterday (7/5/21), but I cannot bring myself to write in it yet. And it’s not even LEATHER! Haha. Go figure.🤦🏾♀️
It looks like this bible could also double as a very comfortable preaching bible that lays flat on the pulpit. You would never get lost with the big print and clear verse numbers to the side. Obviously, it also depends on the type of preacher you are. It would not be a good preaching bible if you like to leave the pulpit and carry the bible open in your hand as you preach. It seems to me it would be too big or heavy to do that.
Great review! Love the channel! You should review the Holman NKJV ultrathin & large print ultrathin, they're two non-premium Bibles that I've heard great things about their paper and typeface.
Hi Tim, Thanks for the informative video. I have a question, im looking for a bible for my mother, not sure if you can help, but would be great if you could. Do you know if its possible to find a NKJV Bible - Leather - Super Giant Print - Wide Margin, Red Print similar to that on this video? I have come close to finding but struggling to find the most important aspects being Super Giant Print or at least Giant Print with the above specs, wide margin also being important and leather. thanks Justis
It’s a verse-by-verse Bible, so each verse essentially begins a new paragraph. One of the results of this is that actual paragraphs can be tough to locate.
(Sorry for the VERY, VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be espoused) Kind Sir Tim Wildsmith...you have a "Great Title" about Bibles...Because the world of Christians; have had different translations in English Bibles. And, the first KJV bible was produced in 1611 AD. And it was said to be, "This IS the most accurate translated Bible!, ever". And MOST English Christians loved it! Thus, they said, "it was the Greatest; and it's the ONLY Bible there is. Well, that KJV "Original" had 80 Books. And it stayed, for 274 yrs. With "Famous Galore", all over the World! But, in 1885 AD, they published an "Authorized;" and with only 66 books. Also. they corrected; untold errors in the Original KJV. Oh Yes. And this stayed, until 47 yrs! For the (New) NKJV Bible. And as always, they said, "This is THE most Accurate translated Bible, EVER!". Plus, in the KJV in 1885 AD it had words like: "ye" vs You, "Thine" vs Yours, "Believeth" vs Believe, "Amongst" vs Among, ETC! (From the Queen I; who: coin these words in the 15th Century, in England). So they kicked them out of the NKJV! And still corrected, more errors! Oh Well. May Jesus have mercy! However, 2 VERY Accurate English Bibles, came on! 1. NASB 1971 AD. 2. NIV 1973 AD. And they said, "These Bible are. the Most "Accurate, when Translated, EVER"!!! Now recently, they published the "New" KJV Bible (The "NKVJ" 1932 AD). And I have to say: It's the most "Understandable" Bible; I have ever read; in my 92 yrs. life! But, I love it. Because, most Bibles confused me often; but this one makes it so easy to learn. Wow! Believe, it or not Brethren. Try it Christians! It really works, for English Christians! Praise Jesus' "Holy Name"

A correction: it says “goatskin leather,” not “genuine leather.” “Genuine leather” is the lowest quality leather and is made from leather shavings glued together. That Bible is definitely not made from genuine leather.
I would love this exact bible without the large print. It’s just so darn huge. I wish Zondervan/TN would just make a straight ripoff of a Quentel. This feels like one but so so big.
