Thomas Nelson is consistently the best quality. I have kind of a wild suggestion. Now hear me out…words of Christ in black. I know, super out there idea. 😂
Looks great! I have the verse by verse but I most definitely will get this due to words of Christ in blue. So easy on eyes. Thanks for the review. Been looking forward for this one coming out.
Thanks so much for the review Tim. I purchased this bible and received it yesterday. It gorgeous and going to be my reader. Also placed the black leathersoft verse by verse black letter in my shopping cart. Blessings 🙌
Thank you Tim for all of your great reviews. I just received this thinline bible today and I came across your review today! I had previously bought the black leather compact version in the kjv and liked the blue lettering so much that I decided I wanted to have it in a larger size. Currently I am really enjoying the NKJV translations. Once again, thank you so much for your reviews.
I just got the black leather soft version. It is a fantastic bible. You’re essentially getting one of their premier collection bibles (same 36 gsm paper, same layout, same ribbons, goffered edge in lieu of art gilting) but without the goatskin cover. Right now you can get these for right around $30 and that’s a steal of a deal.
Just got it! Thank you. Just needed a carry Bible for church. I bought the Thompson chain but it was a bit big for carting. Am i just getting extra now haha!
I think it would be neat for them to do a green letter Bible with the words of Christ in green. As green is the color of life, it would be fitting as Jesus has the “words of life.” 😊
@@katholischetheologiegeschi1319 While that may be true, when Christians see the color green, the ONE thing that they DON’T think of….is Islam….thankfully. 🤓
Thank you. I like the look of the blue ever since I watched your review of the Humble Lamb with the blue letters I wanted one! Now I have a little more affordable way to do that!
I really like that. I have the Maclaren verse by verse black text with teal accents. I struggle with red letter but this blue is so much easier on the eyes (Schuyler pay attention!). I do wish they would separate the translator notes from the references somehow though as I don't tend to use the references but as they are mixed in it can be awkward to view the notes, which I do like to use. It does look good though. Hats off to Thomas Nelson who seem to be producing some really nice Bibles. Do you know if there is a goatskin version of this planned?
I'm a notes user and agree they should be separated too. I like that about the Stridon. Both need to be presented well or why bother to add them in the first place.
Can't wait!! How do I get my hands on one of those??? I love the blue goatskin leather, but you can't find one & I am not a fan of green. I have used NKJV for nearly 40 years! And I love the blue lettering.
You got so many bibles so I know if anybody can find it it’s you I had a NLT with references at the bottom chapter number and name of the book in blue black leather back in 2005 do you know of it?
I love the blue letter. I'm tempted to buy one even though I haven't used the NKJV in years, but I think I'll wait around for a NASB or CSB blue letter.
Ok so I even dug around for Nkjvs and found 3 of them, so I can't justify it. But, in the search, I looked at my Teen Study Bible from the 90s that I read to pieces as a new disciple and BLUE accents. Maybe that's why I love blue accents so much.
@@TomPlantagenet I got one a few months ago and absolutely LOVE the blue lettering. So easy on the eyes and soothing. I also got my first NKJV with Christ’s words in blue like the one in this review and love that too. I hope others start to offer us more of the same.
just a word of advice... I would adjust your lighting... perhaps dim it a little?.. I don't know.... but in the video i could not really see the Blue lettering.. in that lighting that you are currently using.. or perhaps it is the angle?... maybe if the bible was titled down toward the table more..?.. I am not sure.. but I think getting rid of some of the lighting glare would help...
I prefer black letter bibles, and Schuyler dark red is the best of all. I can't read blue letter that tone, my eye has trouble with it, particlarly since i can only use my left eye to read, the other one cannot focus after many operations.
Blue letter Bible, huh. I am observing TN is watching Humble Lamb’s products. It is much like their sovereign collection following the style of Schuyler’s Canterbury.
Ok. I kind of think that the distinctive of the MacLaren should be not just the blue but also verse by verse. A true preaching bible is verse by verse, imo.
I love the blue. Much nicer on the eyes and easier to read for a color-blind person like myself.
im surprised how much easier it is to read than black text! :O maybe books should be printed in blue going forward lol.

Love Thomas Nelson!
Amen, and get the Bible text out of the inner gutter :)
Great review. I own the black leather soft. Great addition to my collection.
Thanks for the review, Tim. I decided, based on your review, to make this my first NKJV. 😃
Nice!

The Blue is soothing
Agreed!
This is such a beautiful Bible. I love the font, and I have the same one in my Sovereign Collection NKJV. The blue letters are gorgeous.
That blue is lovely
Great review and addition to your collection, Blue is a favorite color, very tempting to add one to my collection. Thanks
Thanks I plan on getting a black leathersoft one with Thumb indexes
I like the blue. Not crazy about design on the page edges. Would love one like this in an ESV.

I really like the blue letters!
Please make some videos for bible collectors eg “ Ten (or twenty) bibles youabsolutely have to have in your collection!
I think I like the dark stitching better, but would be happy with either one… love the blue letter!
Blue is very interesting

I’ve got one coming. I’ve got the large print and handy size. So, I may as well have the thin line leather also.

Not sure on the goatskin since they have the Premier Collection option already... but I think people would like that!

Tim wildmith, I have that Bible.
I also have the Maclaren large print reference Bible
They are both very nice.
I have the red letter one but I really like the blue! BUT I can’t stand the spine design. And as I always say, a silver edged one would be awesome.
Wish I could find the Blue Premier NKJV. Have the Green and Black as well as the Black VBV version.
Hey Tim would you be willing to do a comparison between the NKJV thinline and the ESV thinline?
Do you know the gsm of the paper? Just wondering. Thanks! Happy 4th!

Can't find the blue goatskin anywhere and no one seems to be letting them go second-hand. I would love Thomas Nelson to do a re-run.

How does it compare with blue letter Lion by Humble lamb?
I should do a comparison video! This one is more teal.
@@timwildsmith hold on... Don't throw technical color schemes like you know it😂
just so you know... the red printing is kind of hard to notice as well..
What is the significance of it being “Maclaren?”
The Maclaren Series is named for noted Victorian-era preacher Alexander Maclaren.... all of which feature blue highlights and verse numbers, etc.
will that bible be in giveaway
Maybe one day!

Please give us the ISBN numbers.
I think he put a link in the description
Is anyone aware of a complete list that has been compiled of the verses that were left out of the various translations?
A pity Thomas Nelson still can’t produce a plain single column text Bible with an updated font like it did in 2010. So disappointing!
Nice. As a democrat I like the blue lettering a little more than the red. 🙂

It’s not political, it’s for people who are red/green color blind and cannot see the red ink color. 🤦♀️
