Hello, Mr. Plant. I was born in 1971, but I think it was since 1996 I became addicted to Led Zeppelin albums, even later than Now and Zen album. Glad to see recent Mr. Plant, it's a joy for an upcoming 48 year-old man.
She nailed the bass drum. Her foot barely reaches the pedal. Amazing.

@@jimbingham99 - I think you missed his point. Plant could have just listened to the track as it's "Music", and he's probably heard a thousand covers of this shit... Apparently, he found it a bit better than expected and needed to put the glasses on to check the little source of the magic a bit closer. But yeah... Definitely not a spring chicken anymore.

I love Yokoya Soma. She doesn't only have sharp technique; she plays with great expression and soul. This is the first time I've seen her use the second bass drum mallet. I've always been impressed by her one-footed bass drum technique.
This video has been officially Plant approved. It gets no better than that... She's a true talent and gift to us all. This is a serious thing. Beyond 'cute'. This is a musical prodigy. A self taught drummer achieving a degree of genuine mastery at 8. I hope she can pursue music seriously, because I look forward to some seriously good rock and roll drumming from this girl in coming years. She will move beyond covers, start finding her own groove. There is no doubt that she is a musician, natural talent like this is not common. I just hope she is able to pursue music while still having a normal childhood, education etc. I wouldn't want to burden a girl her age with lofty expectations... but I really do hope to hear her rockin' out in a killer band at some point in the future.

I lived and worked in Japan for over 20 years, the Japanese are diligent students of anything they want to conquer.
It's incredible - when they put their minds - usually in groups - to solve or master a skill, there's none better. I saw this in golf,
baseball, you name it. The only area where that fertile Japanese brain falters is language. They struggle with verbalizing in a foreign tongue, that was my impression.
This makes me so happy . My favorite music by Yoyoka , I was her age , 7 ? , when I heard good times , bad times for 5he frist time . By the looks of it Led Zeppelin will become classic music in a 100 years or so . And until now I never believed in reïncarnation , but how else can a seven year old play this , all these complicaties rhythms , that took me at l3ast 10 years to master . Love her .
I've watched a few of this girl's videos and she's 100% gig'able at this age. She has no stage fright, great drum skills, excellent timing, etc. She just gets up there and goes... If i remember right, she also plays other instruments.

not really. not saying that this isn't one of the most incredible eight year old drummers in the world or anything. but facts are facts, she needs to work on her time signature layering. this is a very advanced piece and she still needs to work it out a bit. probably be easier to control when her limbs are longer.

What you're trying to say here in your limited education in music is "time signature layering". Which is what my initial post stated she has to work on. Silly clown telling me I'm wrong and then immediately agreeing with me. Triplets over a 4/4 beat is the most common occurrence of this. Bonham often plays in multiple time signatures simultaneously. Lots of drummers can in fact do this, but yes it is an advanced skill.

There’s guys (yes, most drummers are guys) who practice day and night for a decade to get this kind of timing and technique nailed down.
The drummer is historically the hardest position to fill in any rock band.
Good drummers are a dime a dozen but great drummers are worth their weight in diamonds.
She definitely has a future in music.

@Jon Bonez sadly, there is a million kids just like her. with just as much talent. yet they don't have a pretty face and a youtube channel. so..... time will tell i guess.
@Jon Bonez i was 4 when i began guitar... buy the time i was ten i had already performed on stage and couldn't begin to recount how many songs i'd learned by then. and if you go ask ANY serious musician. most will likely tell you the same thing. that they were very young when they began playing. even youtube has scores of kids even younger than her doing the exact same stuff on drums, guitars, bass's etc etc etc. ozzy osbourne even toured with a child for a bit. yes... there are kids just like her in just about every city on the planet. but again, most don't have parents that prop them up on you tube and set up lessons with others etc. (not slamming the parents at all). is she talented... most definitely. but don't confuse a talented skill with artistic talent. they are no where near being in the same ball park.
