Thank Goodness! A You-Tuber that gets right to it! Not 3 mins of “me/I” talk and then more “like, comment, or subscribe” before I get to hear the information! Thank You!
So glad you enjoyed that’s exactly how I try to edit my videos so I’m glad that you like that style everybody’s time is precious and you just want to learn how to do the technique so I just got right to the point
Our Upcycled Life, You're brilliant! I tried this recipe last night. The results are noteworthy as I love the terracotta appeal. Also, I applied a clear protective enamel w/o any issues. Thank you!
I keep buying supplies but not done anything yet. Watching a lot of videos though. I like the water method on the vinyl sheet. Will also look at your napkin printing. Besides retiring rural and not much access to some supplies I also can’t invest a lot of money. My first passion is sewing and I do sell some of those at small artisan market. Thanks for showing this method!
Hello, I found you on TH-cam, today October 30,2021. You have such amazing ideas. I’m so elated to have found you! Love the chalk painting ideas, I’ve always purchased the chalk paint, which can get extremely expensive. So I’m binging your videos. I have several mason jars that I am going to paint. So know I’m looking for a video on decoupage from you. Happy crafting, Brenda Capurso🤩
You did an AWESOME JOB!!!! I haven't tried Baking Soda and Paint with Stencil yet, but I'm gonna try it in the near future!!!! Thanks for your help!!!!
thank you so much. it’s really close to x-mas and i haven’t been able to find any chalk paint available to order on time to complete my projects. . . i’m handicapped and home bound so can’t get to stores. your tutorial has really, really helped me out. happy holidays ❤️🎄☃️🎄❤️
Love this thank you, now wondering if I can use this paint on a 3D pen art project will be making something later like a smal shelf for all my inks..lol ty
Yo la hago igual. Para finalizar le doy unas manos de barniz sobre todo si utilizo algún color obscuro, puesto que con la humedad tienden a salir manchas blanquecinas. Un saludo 😊
So, you printed onto a white napkin? I’m trying to visualize how a napkin would go through a printer? Did you open the napkin up before running it through? Thank you for showing us how you got that wet napkin onto the jar. Really ingenious. 👏👏👏👏🥰
I have a full tutorial on my channel on how to make custom napkins you use one ply and tape it to a piece of computer paper and then put it through your printer and you can have custom made graphics on your napkins
I’m going to try this one too. I wonder if I used a sponge for the last coat, when painting anything , if it would avoid paint strokes? Am I getting them because I’m using too much or too little paint?
I used smaller paint brushes but I'm having a hard time getting my paint brushes clean after using this mixture. I've tried paint thinner but no luck. So what do you use to clean your paint brushes with?
Hi. what type printer have you found works best for printing onto plain white napkins? i.e. inkjet, laser, the local Kinko's type shop? I need to find the article, it discussed the pro's and con's of type of using toner machines for decoupage projects. thanks!
Is it true that the baking soda changes the chemicals in the paint in some way? And if you were to paint over it, the colors will bleed together? Also there might be some moisture issues later on? I only read about this and have not experimented yet.
Thanks for watching ❤️ any poly acrylic sealer that is water based will work well. If making projects for outside make sure you buy the outdoor version 🌸
@@OurUpcycledLife I tried this yesterday and it worked! I was worried at first, because it was shiny but it dried matte, textured and beautiful. It is for a large textured art piece for my home. I am going to upload the project to my YT in just a couple days! I will be sure to link your video
Thanks for the recipe. How should the finished product be treated afterwards? Does the surface tolerate water, cleaning or dusting? I like the look but don't want to unknowingly wreck it. Would they withstand rain, sun and weather? 😊☀️
I have plaster of Paris on hand but I thought how am I going to measure that out, I only want 2oz of it! Oh, well hello baking soda nice to see you. Thank you!

@@OurUpcycledLife I just used your recipe on a small cabinet. Beautiful!
I so agree with you, sometimes I have to put some on fast forward just to get to the good part, so annoying.
Came to see how the texture was made but that tissue idea at the end was inspiring!
Glad you enjoyed thanks for watching
Very simple and very beautiful. Thank you very much.❤

I can’t see why not
thats really cool!!!
Thanks for watching ❤️
One can also use chalk paint if that’s all they have. Works beautifully. TY for your video 😊
Yes you probably could just don’t add as much baking soda as it will dry very quickly
So useful, thanks. Do you have any tutorials on how to decoupage onto coloured backgrounds?
Works best on a light background
Will the baking soda mixture shrink or crack? Can you make it extra thick somehow to a pasty, trowel on consistency? Thanks
I have not used in a project that big that you could trowel
I used smaller paint brushes but I'm having a hard time getting my paint brushes clean after using this mixture. I've tried paint thinner but no luck. So what do you use to clean your paint brushes with?
Hot soap and water as soon as done with it
So Nice 👍👍👍
How do you get the print on your napkin? This is great!! Loved your technique for the decoupage!

It would get to thick I would imagine . Thanks for watching
Could you have done the "mirrored" transfer with the quote? Then no worry about the paper's edge.
Very cool 😎. I saved the video
Awesome! Thank you!
Can I use chalk paint and add the baking soda or must it be acrylic paint?
Yes you can but you wont need to add as much baking soda. Just add slowly till you get right consistency . Thanks for watching Nancy

I only read about this and have not experimented yet.
I have not had that issue
I am not finding that diamond Verathane anywhere! Which other verathane do you recommend?
Thanks for watching ❤️ any poly acrylic sealer that is water based will work well. If making projects for outside make sure you buy the outdoor version 🌸
Can you use this instead of chalk paint for ink jet transfers?
Yes you can! I find it might not work quite as well but it is a good substitute if you don't have chalk paint. Thanks for watching
Amazing job really and thx for share us ur work❤❤❤
I have question, can i use the homemade chalk paint with baking soda for painting furniture???
I think it might be to thick . I just use regular chalk paint

YOu can seal with poly acrylic sealer but will hot hold up in elements . Best kept in house
Can chalk paint be used?
Would this work with tile paint or frenchic paint?
I’m unsure sorry

No it wont if you use a water based poly acrylic . Oil base will yellow . Thanks for watching Dina
How long will a batch of this paint last if you don't use it all? Can you save what's left?
I only try to mix up what I’m going to use for that project because it does not store well thanks for watching Rebecca
Don't napkins get jammed up in the printer?
I have not had difficulty with that, but some printers may be sensitive
Is baking soda texture paint waterproof
No it is not , thanks for watchig
@@OurUpcycledLife what to apply to make it waterproof
I don’t think you can make it waterproof. Just maybe water resistant with a poly acrylic sealer ♥️
❤
I wonder if it will get even fluffier if you add a drop or two of vinegar?
Maybe!

Senhora, isto aí é bicarbonato de sódio???.O mto obrigada.
Use LATEX paint.
Also called ACRYLIC paint in other Continents
I don’t know how to find your store for the graphics.
Here is the link: www.etsy.com/ca/shop/OurUpcycledLife
Respectfully, why is acrylic paint not always recommended with baking soda? I ask respectfully, thanks.
I find that it doesn’t have as good of coverage as latex paint you can do it, but it’ll take a lot more coats
Are insects attracted to this? Thank you!
I have not found out thanks for watching
💓💓👍👍👀👀 9/1/22
I can't see ...!!!
Very cheap and very bad. Mixing with acrylic is leading to conservation disasters. Same remark for plaster of Paris.
