@@nanfrostsfashionfocusstyle6250 I work and live in Columbus. I really am starting to dislike the rabid OSU fans. Even on California, if I mistakenly wear any OSU gear out I am nearly instantly assaulted by calls of O. H....... I like the teams and university, people dial it down a notch.
I think the entire THE thing is trying to make the university appear greater than it is. I really dislike it

You are welcome. It was an honor to host Robert on this trip and we just did it again, but this time at Indian Lake and a quick trip to Clifton Mill and Clifton Gorge in Clifton, Ohio. Robert was very tempted to stay longer and hit SW Ohio and NE Ohio. We hope to have Robert back to Ohio every year, maybe even more than once a year. Next year we hope we can host another meetup with Robert, was tempted to this year, but did not want Robert in trouble with Ohio authorities and his fans that would not like seeing Robert in a large gathering.

Thank you very much for the coverage of Put-In-Bay (which has changed so much since the early 70s) and The Franz Theodore Stone Lab on Gibralter Island. I was a Grad student at Stone Lab from '68-'70. My advisor, Dr. Hamilton, and his family lived in the lighthouse. The gray and white row boat now filled with flowers was one of many issued to each of us to row back and forth from Put-In-Bay to Gibralter Island. The girl students lived in the smaller white cottage while the fellows lived in the castle. After dinner each night we all gathered at the volleyball court (still there) for a good game. I even caught a glimpse of the Ford Tri Motor airplane in the air. That was our air transport when not taking the ferry back to the "mainland".

The whole area of Marblehead, Sandusky and Margarita Ville are very familiar because we've been to them all. @@mpg2964 No, live in a small farm town in Northern Marion county. No channel, even if I had the time to do it right, hate my voice. I find myself boring and fail to edit out too long of talking and scenes I like. We started spending a few months instead of a few weeks in Florida City, FL (Miami) a couple of years ago.
The shirts I have on in the video are my business, such why I had the same shirt design on each day, not the same shirt. That keeps me busy enough to limit travel in the summer, also why I was late on arriving that Friday night.

For all those that attended the meetup, I and Gabby are sorry if we missed you in the photos, we tried to get everyone and did not know until near the end that those on the main side of the bar were also there for Robert, think we actually had more than 40 and then later as we got ready to leave Gavin showed back up with some Air Force MPs, who are now fans of Columbus, North High Brewing, Donatos and of course Traveling Robert. Be sure to Thank these businesses for their special support of Robert. Let those you have seen on this video and go to for the first time know how you found them, actually do that for any video of Robert's. They should know how we found them. I can tell you after spending time with Robert, helping shoot video and his constant trying to respond to so many, he truly works hard to give us all great content, it is not an easy job. It may be fun, but far from easy. Always hit the like button, if you must hit the unlike button, hit it twice, tell others about Robert. The higher the numbers, the sooner his wife can join him full-time, being away from Ileana is the hardest part for Robert.

It appears you were there during the Boy Scout Camporee at the base of the Perry Monument. That is probably why the wait was so long. The views from the top are spectacular. We did the camporee several years back and were lucky enough to tour the caves on the island and the monument.

Yes, that and the history weekend, if I am correct it is free and we know how that draws a crowd. If not for the ferry schedule, would have waited in line, but it gives him another reason to come back and next time with his wife.

@Lone Star Liz turned 91 last month and was driving up until mid May. She had a minor accident, but decided it would be best for all if she gave up driving, but she is not willing to give up going out to eat and taking care of her friends. She lives on her own and keeps very busy. Liz is a distant cousin of mine. Ohio like most states has far more to see than most, even their own residents know about. Besides our state parks being free to enter, we have the free entry into the Air Force Museum in Dayton. Camping in our state parks is affordable, but sadly this year they did away with walk ins so every weekend is fully booked for the rest of the year.

Enjoyable trip to Put in Bay. Quite a large place. Lake Eerie is vast like ocean front. Watching I wonder if when you view its hard to image it so empty and different now. Lucky you’ve covered so many miles prior. We need days like these to return, fast.

Aurora, actually Put In Bay is open, with some restrictions, but over all back to being open. Of course OSU is keeping everyone out of their buildings unless they must be in them. But the crowds are coming back. It was residents only for a few months, like the FL Keys.

Debbie, actually was the original, not a Jimmy Buffet one. I failed to get Robert the extra information on the area. It got it's name based on the township it is located in. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaretta_Township,_Erie_County,_Ohio

Raising Canes was founded by Todd Graves on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge, LA in 1996. Started as a class project that blew up. Thats why you see them in a lot of college towns now. Don't know how they figured it was an Ohio thing but hey, lol

You are right, someone said they were based in Columbus, but not. We do have another new chicken chain that is based in Columbus. Donatos is based in Columbus. Wendy's is based in Columbus too, but many do not know it's founder got his start with KFC and the Colonel.

On Robert's long Ohio list. I have not been to any, but hear that Cleveland also has some great parks in their park system, not a normal city/regional park. I have driven through downtown Cleveland many times, but never had the time to get out and walk and enjoy it, always taking my mom to and from Cleveland Clinic.

Yes, the Emerald Necklace Metro Parks, city parks, Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Plus numerous bike paths. Another location is Nelson Kennedy Ledges. The area I guess has turned into a big party scene with a quarry lake and concerts. There's also a road race course there. The ledges are awesome! Ohioans like to party. Also the city parks aren't just a small piece of land, some are miles long.

While I may not be visiting Put-in-Bay this summer, it is a part of one of my trips that I look forward to. Rather than taking the Miller Ferry, I go on Lake Erie Island Cruises. The Goodtime I will take you to both Kelley's Island and Put-in-Bay. While this limits the amount of time that you spend at each island, the relaxing boat ride is long and great.
