Newly subbed! Thanks for the great reviews. You channel is just what I've been looking for. I was thinking about a whoop strap but the subscription was not for me especially when you can pay for a good watch in under a year. I've been considered the Garmin Forerunner 245 since watching your video. Keep up the great content!

tallen316 thanks so much! Glad the reviews are helpful. Yes the Whoop can’t pair with a chest strap so it lacks the accuracy for workout tracking as well. The 245 is a good one!

FltGearHunter, have you thought about sharing your Garmin workouts? It would be awsome if there would be a public gallery fo CF workouts you could just import in. Especially with Covid and lockdowns having an option to select a workout rather than keep creating them would be very usefull.

So, it does automatic rep counting (for some exercises) when you start this playlist?
How does it interact with manual rep counting with that button? I mean with button do you add one-by-one rep or mark whole set as done?
Also, in tracking, can i see how my heart rate increased with each step? Like some markers in HR to show correlation between the exercise and the increase/decrease?

This is so helpful! I didn't realize I could specify what movement I'm doing in anything other than a strength workout. How would I program repeats for a certain amount of time? Such as Cindy workout where I'm doing 5 pullups, 10 pushups, 15 air squats all repeated for 20 minutes? Should I just do a generic cardio and do laps? I wish I could specify movements so Garmin could know which parts of my body are being trained/recovered...

I try it today, unfortunately the device do no count repetiong correctly, in example: back squat, the device count 1 repetition when I put my hand on the barbell, I do all my reps (10) he missed two reps, and do not switch to the other exercise (in my cases, a pause between the series). At the moment, I'm not sure it is so useful. Thanks for the nice video :)

Hi, thank you for the video.
Can you set training up in this kind of format:
    30 seconds of an exercise.
    30 seconds rest.
30 seconds of a different exercise.
    30 seconds of rest.
    And so on....
And would the watch alert you when 30 seconds are up?
    Thanks

Hey man, im thinking about getting a fitness watch, the main thing im looking for is good rep tracking for street exercises (pullups pushups etc..) what fitness tracker would you recommend for that sort of training. Great videos keep em up🙌

    • @fitgearhunter
      @fitgearhunter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Dan Ushomirsky hey! Great question - I would say Garmin over Coros or Fitbit. Coros does rep counting in the Strength profile, but it doesn’t calculate workout intensity off of it. Fitbit does as well but you can’t get workout higher level details with them either, and can’t connect to a chest strap for heart rate monitoring. The Garmin Forerunner series does all of these things BUT - none of the are highly accurate for rep counts, especially for static wrist movements like pull ups and push ups unfortunately.

I tried the strength profile many times on my VA3. For me, it was just too clunky and inaccurate. I’d have to manually enter the weight and reps after each set, and that was too distracting. I eventually started using the cardio profile and stuck with that.

    • @adamj2683

    hey !! I have a question:
Does the garmin watch (specifically the garmin 945) have the option to do "free" strength training? or does it have to be with rep counting? I mean, can I just put the strength training option on and train? or do clocks only have the option to count repeats?

Hey! That’s a great question - I’m not sure if it can do that. The way I set it up myself is to make the workout title have the date in it - like “CF WOD 8-27”. That way when you go to pull a workout for the day you can choose the day’s date. That make sense?

    • @fitgearhunter

A million times over the forerunner or above series. It includes advanced training metrics and analytics at the venu and vivoactive do not include.
